    Rogue -> Weaknesses: Taunt, healing, board clear

    Blizzard want rogues to excel at single target removal while being weak against swarm decks. I believe they won't be printing any further board clear spells for rogues. If you desire AOE effects, they want you to add suboptimal AOE from neutral minions.

    If thats going to work or not is yet to be seen.

    Not sure if a serious question or just a rant but i'll bite anyway.

    Against agro, Blizzard want rogues to fight for the board through single AOE removal and then complement their strategy with a few suboptimal AOE removals from neutral minions. Rogues are not supposed to own AOE spells.

    If thats going to be good or even viable doens't matter. The DI has been very clear this is how they want you to play their game from now on.

    And yes, i also agree the new cards are mostly fillers.

    Priest / Paladin:

    Strengths: Healing / Weaknesses: Face damage spells

    I was convinced Healing counters Face damage spells, otherwise what is healing face cards supposed to do?

    1- Priest is utterly unplayable in Standard right now.
    2- Biggest problem is lack of AOE removals. Basic cards also need a complete rework. Not only they are weak but some effects seems to annoy many players for unknow reasons as Anduin became the most hated class to play against.
    3- Blizzard was never concearned about wild. In fact, after the Jade Idol release in MSOG, Blizzard was never concearned about anything that's not milking money. Blizzard won't fix priest core problems since its a hell of a work that doesn't increase revenue.
    4- Yes its unfair and the very reason i don't play hearthstone anymore. I warned 6 months ago priest would be unplayable if they didn't print new AOE spells or very good cards to make up for it.

    As i see, if we have the option available to play with a class but can't because its way too weak due design changes, then that is a flaw.
    Allowing a flaw when there are better ways to deal with the issue its a mistake and doing mistakes on purpouse is the very definition of incompetence.

    Priest was botton tier many many times in the history of this game, and not once i complained about that.
    But its the second time a class became unplayable (Shaman being the first in the Face Hunter era) and mistakes like that only happens when they screw up BIG by giving a class too many tools and not enough answers to others that are weak to those mechanics.

    After 5 years of experience is just inconcivable they are repeating mistakes like that and not even addressing the issue.
    Its healthy to have "Power" rotations between classes. "Playability" rotation its not.

    And looks like both my predictions were right. Seems like Priest is currently unplayable due lack of AOE and Nomi is the best Anduin can offer in standard.
    I never wished for priest to be tier 1 but Blizzard REALLY dropped the ball this time. I saw what was comming 5 months ago. Other sites/players saw it as well. From my point of view, Blizzard is either being incompetent or they just don't care. Probably both.

    Yep, RIP Anduin. i tried 2x Pyro, 2x Mass Hysteria and 2x Auchenai combo and still isn't enough. Druid has too many token generators.

    Well, i think thats it for me. I was hardly playing the game since the Baku nonsense and now they are pushing the same archetype to druid, but this time we don't even have the removals.
    It was a great game while it lasted, made many friends over the years but its time to move on.

    Wish you guys who still enjoy the game all the best!

    To be honest, there is actually only 1 key point that matters. You need better rng than your opponent. This decides 90% of games.

    I am glad you bring up this point.

    Since you are being overpessimistic stating 90% of games are decided by RNG alone, i am going to be overoptimistic and say we can win all the remaining 10% everytime through sheer skill alone. Now lets run some numbers:

    In 100 games, 45 loss =  bad luck, 45 wins = good luck; 10 wins = good skill decisions. This gives us a winrate of 55%.
    Statistical feedback shows that choosing the right class/deck for the right meta adds a winrate of 5~15%. So in the worst case, assuming your overpessimistic example, its still possible to achieve a minimum winrate of 60% before any RNG kicks in.

    There is no denying "luck" decides a lot of Hearthstone games, but even in skilled games like mobas and FPS, its very hard to have a winrate above 60% and almost impossible to beat 70% unless you are the very best player in your league.

    Before we start, keep in mind not every matchup/game is winnable.
    And yes, you made some mistakes in that game. Which is good, since we only improve learning from said mistakes.
    Lastly, since i'll be writting a wall of text, i'll try to be as generic as possible so this post may actually help other players as well. Lets begin.

    When playing control decks, these are the key points we need to focus in order to win the game:

    1- Intentifying which deck we are playing against;
    2- Realize our win condition and our opponent win condition;
    3- Maximize the efficiency of our plays considering cards our adversary could be running in his deck;
    4- Understand when and how removals should be used;
    5- Plan ahead.

    1- Intentifying which deck we are playing against:
    As soon as we see the enemy hero, try to take a guess which decks he could be playing given past experience/meta and muligan according to it. See which cards he plays(if he pass turns without playing anything is also a tell) and try to narrow options down. If we can't identify what our opponent is trying to do, is impossible to plan for it.
    Your game:  Warrior is playing Bomb Warrior and you are playing Fatigue Shaman.

    2- Realize our win condition and our opponent win condition;
    Once we know what we are up against, try to picture how we are going to win. Now think what plays can make you lose. What your opponent gameplan is and how to stop him from getting there.
    Your game: Warrior wins by putting enough bombs in your deck plus a Dr.Boom finisher, which deals a lot of damage. Shaman wins if it gets to fatigue. You win if you manage to heal trough ALL his bomb damage output. You lose if you get low enough(around 15 HP) and he plays Dr.Boom while your deck has 4 bombs or more. Keeping track of how many bombs are in your deck and how many bombs he still has left to play is vital here.

    3- Maximize the efficiency of our plays considering cards our adversary could be running in his deck;
    This is a concept that is very vast and hard to explain but its all about how to minimize the effect of cards played by the opposition while maximising ours. For example, if we know priest is likely to run Mass Hysteria, we avoid playing minions that could potencially kill each other at the same time.
    Your game: Krag'wa, the Frog played on T12 was VERY BAD. We want to get as much value as possible from healings as we already figured out from step 2. Save him for the turn after you play Witch's Brew when possible. Hex + End Turn or HexLightning Storm was the correct play.

    4- Understand when and how removals should be used;
    We need to plan ahead when its the optimal time to play AOE removals much, much before those situations even happen. We also need to have clear targets for our single target removals like Hex
    Your game: Hex have only 2 targets: Blastmaster Boom and Seaforium Bomber. Saving Hex for Blastmaster Boom is a mistake in that situation because Krag'wa, the Frog is more important and we probably will have to use Hagatha's Scheme to clear Boom Bot anyway.

    5- Plan ahead.
    Try to plan turns ahead when possible. Imagine which plays he might do next turn before he does. Think how we will react to that play given our hand. Think how we can prevent his win condition and how much damage we can sustain in a single turn. Think which is the worst combination of cards he may hold on his hand and what will we do if that happens. Recognize who is ahead in the game in every turn and what we can do to keep the advantage or to take it from him.
    Your game: We need to keep track how many bombs are in our deck and how likely he is to hold Blastmaster Boom in his hand given the remaining cards in his deck. Another thing i would have done differently is to play Archivist Elysiana on T13 to negate all the bombs in our deck.

    I hope this gave you at least something to think about. The warrior did fewer mistakes then you in my opinion and also his deck is much easier to play then yours so i think the result was fair this time.

    Ultimately, despite being a very experienced player, no one is right 100% of the time, so feel free to take this post as you better see fit.

    Good luck!

    Now that all cards are revealed:

    I am still a bit worried Priest didn't get any AOE removals. But on the other hand, we got plenty of good cards. In fact, i think its the first expansion there isn't a single bad priest card. So i think the class is going to be ok.

    Now i want to talk about these:

    This card will be a staple in almost every priest deck. Not much else to say. Really annoying to play around.

    Vargoth will be the new staple in every control deck once the exp is out.
    I've been trying it out in Priest, and works great with Power Word: Replicate and Seance
    If your opponent can't deal with the board, its possible to kill him with a single Mind Blast or play 4x Mind Control in the same turn.
