This deck is just way too slow. Gets crushed even in casual.

Very easy, beat it second try. Don't even worry about minions. Fan of knives eats through them like butter and besides you'll just be going face with spells. Don't attack him with your dagger if he has a secret!

Got it the second try. If he doesn't get a 7/14 Ultrasaur with his 2 mana spell, and you catch a few lucky breaks with the random minions he summons it's a cakewalk so long as you stabilize and drop a giant sort of quickly.

I got it after half a dozen attempts with this strat. I think the thing is you really have to get a big advantage after a few turns. If you don't you are just wasting your time.

Just like the OP says, you gotta find a place to really get an advantage with your knight right away. One trick I found helpful was using the knight as a sniper and keeping him on the right side. Then I'd put a bishop next to him and he could snipe then immediately get healed up after.

Some luck is obviously involved. I had a couple games where I got out to a lead and then they got a clutch knight paired with killing off my leftmost piece.

Oh and you HAVE to move your pieces around with the excess mana  you have. I think that's what really makes the difference, agonizing over the ways you can minimize your losses the next turn. Usually involved moving my weakest pawns off to the left side but not always. Sometimes I used it to make sure my queen was killing off as many pieces as possible AND getting a heal.

The run I (comfortably) beat him on, I had like 3 cards in my hand when I went into fatigue but I only took 1 point of damage because his board was non-existent. There were a few times where I could have played more cards but I pulled back because I wanted to do more damage with the positioning and to play more pieces would have reduced my overall damage output.

I think that's the way I thought of it: how do I maximize damage output every turn while minimizing my losses?

Now that it's done, I actually really appreciate the challenge of this boss. It's probably the most unique experience I've every had playing HS.

posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!

I finally gave up and uninstalled the game too. Just not having fun any more despite having reached rank 4 with it. It's obvious the matchmaker tends to pits you against decks that yours is weakest against. Change decks and the algorithm switches your matchups accordingly. It's not a coincidence, and that's lame. The expansion reduced the number of viable laddering options, increased RNG, loaded the meta with a handful of cards with completely OP effects (including the predictable 8 mana Hunter finisher) and did almost nothing to address the aggro dominant meta. Now instead of dying on turn 5 unless you draw perfectly.. you die on turn 6 against the super cheese decks that have mostly 1 and 2 mana cards. Want to play less seriously? Good luck enjoying that on casual, cause you got morons playing top net decks all over. Worst expansion ever, and the devs have shown they really don't care about balancing the game. Priest has become total garbage. The devs have sat on their hands ever since release, telling us the about the office donut buying policy and other stuff no one cares about but not doing their job. Not a single balance, just some lame "oh the players can figure out counters with existing cards instead of us doing our jobs and making what could be easy fixes to obviously broken decks and matchups". It's like they just don't want to admit the awful job they did with this expansion. Eff your game, Brode!

I will say that it doesn't seem like Zoolock can ever beat this deck.

I'm underwhelmed. The meta at rank 8 is all aggro, mostly face Shaman and cancer Paladin.
