posted a message on this expansion is looking good

It's still early, but I have to agree with OP that it looks promising so far.

Clearly they are trying to slow things down which is good, but... this could open the door for Jade Golems to take over, and that makes me nervous.

Still, for now, I remain quietly optimistic.

posted a message on Unimpressed with Quest card idea

I think these quest cards are awesome and opens the door for a lot of creativity with regards to deck building. I would love to use this in a resurrect/N'Zoth deck.

The only real shame is that because it is a legendary card, it's somewhat expensive to craft. So I hope I open at least one of these quests cards on day one.

Another two days of pirates vs pirates, pirates vs Reno, or Reno vs Reno...

Am I the only one tired of watching the same old rinse and repeat match after match?

Thanks. I have the very same feeling; except the team 5 part. I agree that they will make it better, but something has to be done to change the course of the game. Right now, the game is heading towards mindless aggro where you tell yourself "Trade? Hell NO! Jus go face! easy win! why even bother calculate the technicalities of trading? Heh!" know what I mean?
Yep, I know what you mean... and it's a sad state of things.
My prediction (or hope) is, once Blizzard starts loosing money (or make less money) because of the unhappiness of players, they'll find a way to change the course of the game. (Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.)

Hearthstone is broken right now. No question about it.

Fun decks are unplayable. Variety is gone. If you see a mage in rank 10, if mage it has to be a Reno mage, You see a warlock it's Renolock, you see a priest it's Dragon Control Reno, You see a Druid it's jade, You see a warrior it's pirate... Cards like Velen Prophet, Nozdormu, Majordomo Executus.. they're all unplayable now.

These days you are either aggro or anti-aggro.

I can't agree with you more. I have been playing the game a very long time, and this is the first expansion where I am actually struggling to have fun with it.

I watched the EU Winter Championships over the weekend, and even just watching the best pro players play was repetitive and kinda boring. Seeing the frustration on Thjis's face after his first loss against an aggro line-up summed it all up for me. I think even they are having a tough time at the moment.

However, I'm still positive Team 5 can pull this around. We've had some great expansions/adventures like League or Explorers and Whispers. I'll definitely give them another chance or two to make things great again...

posted a message on This meta is the worst ever

It seems the community is rather divided at the moment on whether the current meta is healthy or unhealthy, stale or diverse, and fun or not-fun. If I had to put money on it, I am sure the majority of people feeling positive would be people leaning towards an aggro play style, while those on the negative end are more control based.

So? What is the situation really... According to Ben Brode and Dean Ayala from their live stream the current meta is quite diverse and they consider the state of the meta based on diversity and win rates as healthy. Except they admit that the pirate package used by Warrior, Shaman and Rogue is higher than they like, and might intervene at some point.

Now, is it fun though? For me, after playing the last two years and loving the game, I'm struggling to have fun at the moment. Some will agree, and others will disagree with me; and that's ok... I just like it better when games are about skill and strategy, instead of seeing who can kill the other person before turn six.

posted a message on Ben Brode Unhappy with Ranked Ladder System

In my experience the ranking system has four distinct tiers where your experience of progression feels very different:

    • Rank 25-21
    • Rank 20-6
    • Rank 5-1
    • Legend

This may sound like a simple change, but I am wondering if the re-branding of these tiers might make the feeling of progression more rewarding:

    • Rank 25-21 becomes Rank 20-16
    • Rank 20-6 becomes Rank 15-1
    • Rank 5-1 becomes something new. (The Heroic ranks perhaps?)
    • Legend remains Legend

As a side note, I would like to see the ability to ban a class when playing Casual. (Enough with facing Shamans 1 in every 4 games, even in casual...)
