posted a message on Getting to Know Hearthstone’s Alternate Heroes: Lunara

Honestly, the only Blizzard game I play is in Hearthstone. I feel like designing games around a pre-existing game is strange. I mean, take Rexxar, for example. I really enjoy playing Hunter class, and I was curious to know more about him. A little bio, a link - some sort of something to give a general idea of the heroes origins.

The Lich King for example. Is Arthas the Lich King? I don't know. As far as the Death Knights are concerned, they're cool cards, but where did they come from? By playing HS, I think The Lich King was essentially a necromancer?

If you want to create games based off another game, that is cool. However, at least have a source for all the general background information that would add depth to these characters.

As far as Lunara is concerned, yeah, she's cool. Comes from gods or something, I guess. Although, from the comments here, I'm assuming there were much better candidates, and all the heroes were pulled into a giant arena to fight each other in this HOTS game?

    I don't understand what's happening...

Saving a poisonous species that is detrimental to ALL other minions?

If you save the slayers, it will kill off everything else. Extinction is a part of nature...

posted a message on Should I take a break?

    Quote from inus95 >>

Thank you all for your replies. It's nice to see that even if the game sucks for some of us, we can talk about it without name-calling etc. That's also one of the things that really discourage me - everytime I see a thread focusing on problems with HS here at Hearthpwn, most of the replies are utterly stupid and disrespectful for no reason and I feel like I've been catching that negativity as well. I've been getting really tilted be my opponents emoting and I felt like everything they did, they did it to BM me (even though maybe they were just finishing their "play X number of class cards" quests, etc.)

You guys really made my day. Whether you decide to stick with the game or just finish your dailies like me for a while, I wish you all the best!

I took a break during KFT because I was so frustrated at trying to beat Lich King. I took a break for about a month. I came back, saved up almost 6000 gold for Witchwood. Opened my packs, crafted some cards I wanted for a long time, and it was fun.
I used to be active on the Blizzard Official HS Forum and that place is incredibly toxic. I started playing Wild and decided to focus on reaching max level with every class. I play ladder and earn my five stars for the cardback. I used Hearthpwn for years, but never realized there are articles and this massive forum!
I haven't visited the official forum for a few days now, my gaming experience has been way more positive. I realized the pressure was from the toxic environment and setting impossible and contradicting standards for myself was too absurd.
I tried other CCGs but I keep coming back. I love Hearthstone. I can't help it because I feel like too many folks are focused on competition. Rank is irrelevant to me. I don't care. Because I'm too busy having fun.
Taking a break from the game, and the HS media altogether was refreshing and allowed me to find my own peace. Instead of having salt thrown on all my ideas/opinions, I started using a blog to share all my ideas and feelings in regards to the game. Without taking in, and seeing all this negativity, it has been a blast.

posted a message on Artifact - The Future of Card Games?

The fact of the matter is a lot of people are mobile. Why don't I play Gwent?

I don't own a PC. All my work, music, gaming, etc is done from my device. I sincerely doubt this new game, Artifact will really phase Hearthstone because it is being released on PC first.

The TCG that is actually available to ALL gamers, (PC/Android/iphone) will most likely be the one that takes the cake. Furthermore, as smartphones become more advanced, a lot of PC usage will become obsolete.

I mean, I can type up anything I want, and send it to my printer at home. From my phone. However, developers cannot make a game mobile friendly? Even this forum doesn't have any kind of plug in for forum readers, it doesn't have an ap - clearly, I'm "less" of a gamer because spending 47 hours in front of a computer monitor is NOT my idea of fun.

If you want my money, be mobile friendly from the beginning so I can get in on the action straight from the start.

As for community moderation, the attraction to HS is the lack of an open chat. As for the Blizzard Forum...eff that place.

posted a message on WHICH WITCHWOOD DECK IS THE MOST SATISFYING TO BEAT?

I don't have a favorite deck to beat. However, I have opponents who are the most satisfying to beat. Emote spammers, ropers, those players that spam threaten emotes when you turn the tables - it is especially satisfying when they concede...and send me a friend request.

posted a message on My opinion on nerf Threads...

I agree with OP, however, I also think balance and power creep should continue to be discussed. As in,

"I played X amount of cubelocks with this deck here (posts decklist) and I found Cubelock to be OP. Is it my deck, or is Cubelock seriously that powerful?"

Presenting it this way opens the door for others to put in their two cents. I came over here from the Official Blizzard Forum.

When Crystal Core was first released, there was a huge backlash of players begging for a nerf because it was OP. The community responded with,

    "Git gud, noob."

Crystal Core was nerfed and now a lot of players say it isn't enough.

Now, I absolutely believe in discussion, and exchanging ideas. I believe we, as the players/purchasers of such content should have a say in what we want out of the game. Not THE final say, mind you, but at least some acknowledgement to our reaction as a community.

I know I'm new here but I think having a thread dedicated to "Please Nerf This," would help anyone who is in or connected to the design team get a real quick idea of what the community likes/dislikes.

If you see 2 people say Kingsbane Rogue is OP, it will probably be ignored.

If you see 200 threads, with 20+ replies each claiming "Cubelock is OP," it might be worth an investigation. I am looking at this strictly from a researchers' point of view. Valid information is way easier to find if it is consolidated.

Thank you for taking the time to read. :)

posted a message on The problem is not about aggro

II understand it sucks because you're opponent isn't a carbon copy of yourself. I started playing right around Old Gods, took a break during Frozen Throne, and started seriously playing the game.

I've never made it past R15, and I mostly play Wild Casual. I like to farm gold and play what is fun to me.

My current goal is to reach max level with every class. Most of the other posters are correct; aggro decks have to push har and fast to win because if you recover, then they don't stand a chance. This isn't your preferred play style, however, top-decking for 4 turns while I'm hanging on by a thread hoping for an answer is NOT my idea of fun.

Fact of the matter is, we all have to play against match-ups we dislike. I hate devolve with a burning passion. I feel that my opponent should NOT have the ability to change the tribe of my minions.

However, by playing against it, I learned to beat it and understand the decks weaknesses as well as its strength.

This whole notion that control takes skill and aggro is brainless is absurd and needs to stop. I play all different decks of all different classes so, anyone that brings this up, I can only assume is die-hard control.
