Heya Gunnolf, have you considered Ray of Frost? I find the card to be huge in terms of negative Tempo AND Quest completion at the same time. Do you think Arcane Artificer is so much better of a survival tool that it keeps you alive longer enough to complete the Quest anyway?
On the other hand, while playing another version of Vargoth Quest Mage, I also fell back to Banana Buffoon for consistency. But have you tested Mana Cyclone? Do you think it is an option, if the deck pilot is skilful enough?

Personally I like Thunderhead but then again I'm biased since he's in some of my favourite decks.
It's a hard call honestly, since nothing looks like a great long term investment :/

I believe that was the 8 mana spell that allows you to discover a 6 cost minion and summon 2 copies of it and then Khadgar summons 2 more.
Essentially it's random. :)

Great question. Definitely something to consider in future metas but right now with Darknesslock, Barnes Priest and the rest of the big decks it's more of a liability. Probably a good inclusion when the metas slows down ^^

I kind of agree with this but then again it's no surprise considering that I've called out Blizzard multiple times in my articles for disregarding Wild as a whole.
In general though I'm not so sure I want them to be that actively involved unless their knowledge of the format improves. Asking them to get involved when they know next to nothing about the format is like giving a machinegun to a monkey. I'm happy with the occassional nerf to alleviate the oppression.
In terms of this thread specifically, I'd have to agree in part. Largely people have very low winrates with more fringe archetypes like reno because they refuse to tech to the meta. Even tier 4 decks can get to Legend assuming you play well. However, having said that certain archetypes are unbelievably oppressive and force you to warp your deck around them to such a degree that you can end up being unfavored in multiple other matchups. It happened with AK47 Druid, Nagalock & Nagahunt and potentially Brig Priest is creeping up there in becoming oppressive.
tl;dr: It's a combination of lack of tech and oppressive decks.
Just my 2 cents! ^^

Nah you do you.
It's nice getting upvotes. Hell I'd be outright lying if I said I didn't get a minor kick from it and feel the pang of sadness when some don't get any notice despite the guide.
It's a hard thing to balance but after a few years I kind of learned not to care too much. It's just numbers at the end of the day. ^^

I get how it can be frustrating, especially to people who put solid hours worth of editing into their posts with full deck guides, pictures and etc.
Unfortunately, just got to roll with the punches I'm afraid. I share your plight but nothing we can do. :(

Ray of Frost is really good no doubt. I use it in Odd Tempo Mage and in Reno Quest Mage on occassion. For this deck in particular though I prefer artificer cause it allows for multiple armor stacking if you play them right.
Mana Cyclone can be good but I don't like him for quest. He's a little bit like Kabalist tome. You have no idea what random trash you'll get and some of it might be unplayable :/

Thank you. You should see my Reno Mage variant ~ that's even more interesting. ;)
Getting back to Mimiron's head, what you would need is 2 mechs and ideally 2 molten reflections. Threfore, right off the top of my head you can make the following changes:
-2x Arcane Giant | +2x Target Dummy
-1x Kalecgos | +1x Mimiron's Head
-1x Alexstrasza & -1x Archmage Vargoth | +2x Molten Reflection
Keep in mind that this is largely untested as I type it out but in theory it should work. The only thing you are losing the versatility of the win condition.
Play either Kale or Archmage doesn't seem to make much sense since in the end all you do is achieve the same result i.e. similar to what would happen if you play out Mimiron the two dummies and just time warp.
I'll do some testing and add it to the guide
thanks for the awesome suggestions ^^

Thanks for all your support guys. Deck is doing really well and I'm glad quite a few of you seem to be enjoying it.
I edited the guide by adding a few more details surrounding the OTK and corrected the image to showcase the actual deck played and not one that is presently in the works.
Further thank you to everyone who messaged me, bringing the discrepencies to my attention. They have now been corrected and I am sincerely greatful that you read my content in that much detail.
New deck coming tonight.! :)

You can always come to wild ~ Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater are still a driving force there and you can get plenty of competitive decks for climbing for cheap! :)
Strictly in terms of standard through, I would ahveto say token druid. At least at the moment. :)
