Pirate warrior isn't really the next midrange shaman just because of a simple reason. They don't do well against every deck. Like secret paladin was good against everything else, huntertaker was good against everything else and midrange shaman was good against everything else. Pirate warrior tough isn't good against everything else at all. AND you can easily play around this deck by simply adding a bunch of weapon removal and playing reno. Don't really know why everyone is complaining about pirate warrior

Guys if you think that you will beat jade druid with aggro or combo you are dead wrong.The only jade card druid needs it's Jade Idol that's it.Then you can fill the rest of the deck with anti aggro tools(like THEE END IS COOOMING) and anti otk tools(like that armor up card).Druids decimate freeze mage so why would any other combo deck fare any better?
The only possible counters are super effiecient midrange and tempo decks like midshaman and dragon warrior or a greedier jade deck lol.
So blizzard killed almost all the archetypes with one card lol!
Exactly this, you can virtually play any deck you want and just add jade idol and it's automatically a better deck.
I'll wait for the actual release and a bit of the initial meta to lose all hope but man, i thought they play tested cards thoroughly, Frodan even overextended like crazy, in an actual game with a refined list, no amount of board clears will stop that deck.
Imagine a Fandral + 3/4 or even more Idols, easily doable due to Nourish and Emperor until rotation. I expect this to get a 1 mana nerf minimum in the weeks following MSG.
After some consideration, i honestly think this might be worth it in Zoo, and that's kind of a good thing, it gives the deck some diversity and a way better matchup against shaman, with PO it clears their entire board 90% of the time since they have few minions over 5 hp. I like it.
Indeed, it could see play in Zoo. That's a wonderful tech in the mirror.
Maybe Priest with some buff and/or pyro shenanigans ?
It's a shenanigans card indeed, there's bound to be some weird combo discovered.
Mysterious Challenger is the enabler for an entire archetype. Your nerf would destroy that archetype (even if it is cancerous). Secret Pally's amazing curve is the problem, not Just Mysterious Challenger.
I don't think it would destroy the archetype at all. I understand that their curve is the main strength of Secret Paladin, but when they come out of turn 6 with a 10/9 Challenger, it's just an insane tempo swing which allows them to be much more aggressive if you can't kill it. With my nerfs to Avenge and Challenger, the biggest one they could get is a 7/8 (with Avenge and Competitive Spirit going to the Challenger). Still very powerful for having drawn and played 3-5 secrets.
A 7 or a 10 attack minion bashing your face in is almost the same, it demands the same type of instant removal. As was mentioned above, MC isn't really the problem, though it's a strong card, the offenders here are minibot, muster and shredder.
the Shaman and the boom bot nerfs are perfect, i fuckin' despise boom bots. The others are kind of overkill and would make the cards almost unplayable,MC is fine, as seen in Standard, there already is a 1 mana 2/2 value card with no downside, Avenge needs to be triggered, minibot and muster are way worse than that, thank god they're out of standard.
While Flame waker does warrant some hate sometimes, you need to actually play Tempo mage a bit to see how the extreme RNG factor of it diminishes the card's power, thus i would not nerf it, mana wyrm on the other hand..

Questing Miracle is simply better right now, maly is too slow of a win condition against all the pirate warriors.

You don't need 3 big dragons in any deck with Netherspite Historian, they just clog your hand and are too slow. You get plenty from historian.
