Same. I dislike polls that don't include the negative options I always choose! I want to vote "I hate golden cards and anyone who uses them!" but as it's a snob poll ... 

 

Seriously though, I couldn't give a fig about golden cards, DE'd so many since I started, I love just watching them burn to dust!! 

Guys, It's my first poll here. My thought was that a poll that is asking "why" and not "if you like or not smth" naturally should not include the negative/affirmative option. But next time I will put this option no matter what.

The poll is about why you like golden cards not if you like or not golden cards. I don't think it's wrong, the question is quite clear.

Yes indeed, the poll is just for snobs :) The poll is not about "if you like or not golden cards  but "why do you like golden cards" .

Yes.  Golden legendaries have the best craft-to-disenchant ratio, so you lose less value whenever you open a duplicate in a pack.  I've never crafted anything below legendary, and the only non-golden legendary I've crafted is Elite Tauren Chieftain (because it's impossible to get a duplicate in a pack).

Yes, you are right if you figure out that you will play the game for a long time. But when you don't know how much time and money are you willing to invest you are looking for shortcuts to get most popular cards quickly and ... mistakes are made :). 

I totally agree that golden legendaries "...are the best long-term investment". 

Have I become an Hearthstone pretentious snob ? 

In almost three month, from a humble and poor f2p Hearthsone player, happy and grateful for any good cards I get, I become very interested in the golden cards. I was quite lucky with my free and paid packs and I have, with some exception, almost all top tier legendaries (mostly neutrals). 

Now I want golden versions, especially those cards that are giving back other cards, like Sneed, Shredder, Neptulon, etc. For example I regret that I crafted regular Sneed. 

I really want Golden Neptulon, Golden Sneed, Golden Ysera, Golden Gazlowe, Golden Jarraxxus to begin with. 

It is a big surprise for me, I'm a very practical guy not looking for shiny and decorative things, just robust and useful tools. But in Hearthstone I'm mesmerized by these golden cards. 

Why ? Maybe for the animation and the overall better looking design, maybe for the uniqueness and the rarity. For sure not to impress others. 

Why do you like golden cards ? Is it worth it from a collector point of view to craft only golden legendaries ?

Then my luck turned around; I got Sylvanas, The Black Knight, Alexstrasza, and Ysera in packs. Which still isn't quite as good as it sounds, because Sylvanas came along a mere 3 days after I spent 1600 dust to get her. Argh. But I try to pretend that instead of Sylvanas, that pack just had a card that said "Pick any Epic you like." Which makes it still a good pack.

Haven't gotten any more golden legendaries since those first two. The only non-golden Legendary I've DE'd (besides duplicate Sylvanas) was Tinkmaster Overspark.

In GvG I've had a very different kind of bad luck. I've acquired about 50 GvG packs ... and only gotten one Legendary from all of them! But ... I guess I can't complain too much, since it was Dr. Boom.

Good way to see it, I will trick my mind like you did. I've just crafted alexstrasza 2 days ago and next day I've got it from a free pack, from dailies.

Same here, Yesterday I found this threat and I was happy that I'm not the only one guilty of charge. I said to myself that I will not spend a dime till BRM. I start to play with the card opener simulator and after 5 minutes I was in the candy shop and bought 15 packs. 

At least I've got Al'Akir the Windlord and some epics. 

I've spend from last December till now about 250 euro, much more than I've planned but I really enjoy this game, is my only everyday hobby. 

Within a week ? I've crafted Alexstrasza a few days ago and next day I've got it from a free pack. I was looking for Alex for months.

I was looking for Alexstrasza for weeks of grinding, buying packs with real money, etc., no luck. Yesterday I bought 15 packs and I get only dust.

I've decided to craft Alexstrasza and I was happy that finally I have the big dragon. Today, after making the daily quest I bought a pack and guess what, I've got Alexstrasza in the pack. I don't want to DE the extra one, maybe in the future (most probably never) the card will be modified :)

This game is so much fun... :)  You can see my face palm reaction.
