Region: NA Usual Play Times: Afternoons and evenings PST Level of Experience: Intermediate Preferred Heroes: Priest, Paladin, Warlock I’m Looking For: Mentor(s) and friends
Ethereal Arcanist has been my surprise MVP though. Had a game where he went unchecked as an 11/11. Doesn't happen often, but imagine games where you're able to pull off a duplicate or echo with him on the board. Most times you have a secret up by turn 4.
I feel like Confessor Paletress could work in this deck, but IMO is just too slow (essentially a 9-drop to get full value), and is easily removed unless you're already winning. Trust me this deck's optimized enough without it, but in the end it's all a matter of preference.
I've never hit legend, but like you I actively try each season. The advice I've gotten and have heard most commonly is to increase the amount of time you play. You've shown that you can handle yourself sub-rank 5, so it's merely a matter of how many games you're able to play.
I'll accept friend requests after matches, and the first thing I type to them is "Before you rage, GG." That usually defuses any tension before it starts.

Solid deck! Bad draws ruin the game, but overall works like a charm.

It's definitely a strong package -- when it works. Here are some examples.

I'm missing a Doomsayer and an Illuminator, so I plugged in Ethereal Arcanist and Archmage Antonidas.
