Actually, Pit Fighter was added years later (seriously), it's Guardian of Kings - Holy Light.
You're correct, I just consider that Pit Fighter could've just as easily been a basic card (should have IMO). Captured Jormungar as well. It's always disappointing to get text-less cards in expansions.
The concept is fairly simple: Mages have been experimenting with combining beasts to get the favored attributes of each individual, and this is what they came up with.
If they are going to come up with a Mechanic for HS, they should make Scry one. In case people dont know what Scry is its; Look the top cards of your deck where the number is a scry so Scry 3 for example. you can place 3 top cards in any order
100% agree with this. There are so many ways you can add flavour to individual Scry cards too.
for example, some kind of warlock card with " Scry (2) : draw a card, discard the other. "
Edit: However, I do remember reading somewhere that the devs realized that if you knew what cards were coming next then you lose the sense of surprise and excitement that you might just have an answer for what your opponent is doing.
Personally i'd like to see some mechanics based around "Battle of the Builds" and "Underdog Rules" brawls.
effects like these placed on minions or weapons?
"Each turn, if you're losing by more than 3 health then a random minion rallies to your side." - A minion with a positive effect if you have less health than your opponent would be really cool.
Also, a side note, I'm of the opinion that the "Decks Assemble" Brawl was inpsired by a previous iteration of the Discover mechanic.
Far cry primal got me like wut. A Hunter variant of Knife Juggler or Flamewaker probobly broken considering the synergy with Unleash the Hounds but it would be a comeback mechanism rather than a win more since your opponent would have to have a bunch of minions, and it's a 7 mana combo.
the 3/4 statline felt like it did balance him a little bit since those are stats of a 3 mana minion could possibly be reduced to a 3 attack/3 health if it turned out to be 1 hp to much.
Really cool, imo this would only ever be OK to print if knife jiggler does indeed get nerfed though.

Next card: A weapon that synergies with a tribe.
Sniped, but wanted to post anyway. continue with the next request.
Next card: A 0 attack minion with deathrathle.

SECRET PALLY!

Next: A weapon with Deathrattle

Next: A legendary that fits multiple decktypes that you would like to see in this next expansion.
Works with midrange a control decks. even a slightly slower version of aggro because it provides sustain that those wouldn't otherwise have.
Next: A class legendary you want for the next expansion

If there was any mechanic i wanted to see introduced it would probably be a death-knight ish thing.
similar to the 'volcanic' "costs (1) less for each minion that died this turn" but with buffs instead of cost reduction.
something with this kind of flavour.
Reap as a keyword maybe?
Edit: This is kinda a thing already thanks to Flesheating Ghoul, guess i'm just disapointed they haven't given it a class designation.

one problem, Nerub'ar Weblord is from Naxx...
But yes, I'm also super excited for a new meta that gives previously underused cards a time to shine

Next: Turn one of the Warcarft III Heroes that isn't already a hearthstone card into one
(Maybe this wasn't correct, I'm assuming Mal'Ganis is also a dreadlord?)
Edit: someone beat me to it.
Next: A weapon for Rogue
Next: A class card that gives a passive buff. (they phased them out a bit since basic :/ )
