These changes are designed to bring Astalor’s power more in line with what we want from a Neutral, general-purpose utility card like this.
A card that can deal 16 (or 14) damage to face is NOT a "general-purpose utility card." It is an all-purpose win condition, and that is exactly why people are (over-)using it. When you print a relatively cheap, powerful Neutral win condition, it's going to appear in way too many decks. Hell, it doesn't even have to be cheap -- see the original Sire Denathrius.
I can't even give Team 5 the benefit of the doubt on this one, because there IS no doubt. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

4 legendary nerfs, let the dust flow!

Ahhhh yes, Abyssal Depths now curves into Vanndar! My jank DH decks are thrilled

What are you talking about, Guff did get nerfed in battlegrounds

Can Blizz just go ahead and make Rogue secrets evergreen? They make so much sense flavorfully, arguably more than Paladin secrets which get to be around forever

Why in the absolute shit would you release this in a set with an evolve shaman theme

I mean, you're still attacking with an 8/8 on turn 4 behind a 1/8 taunt. There are worse starts

The season pass (free track) gave 2 free golden school teachers, so it's actually a pretty good time to dust any normal ones you got from packs early in the season

Pyramad's description says "give a random minion" but the hero power image just says "give a minion". Is it random or not?

I'm thinking a ban is more likely. It's nearly impossible to nerf in a way that doesn't just kill the card anyway - a gain of 1 mana vs 2 is light-years of impact, whereas upping the overload value wouldn't change its usage at all.
EDIT: I stand corrected. This is why I'm not a game designer!

For sure. If they can't fix it immediately, they should at least ban it until it works.
