Elrann posted a message on Major Problem - Most classes lack 5-drops.Posted in: General DiscussionHunter got a HUGE buff to Ram Wrangler through Carrion and Infested Wolf. Also they got Princess which has quite good statline just by herself.
With powerlvl of cards going down we can play Saraad and Paladin's Stand Against Darkness doesn't look so bad, Warriors have a turn to set up a Tentacles, slow decks can play Naga, which is pretty damn storng. Paladins have Dragon Consort and it's pretty OP. It's just about asking questions being easier and more effective, And Tuskar Jouster. Priests have Darkmender, it has good stats by her own, OG is not even required. And they got Darkshire Alchemist also. We can play Anubisath. Mages have Conjurers, Druids have Druids of the Claw, Rogues have Shado-Pan, Warlocks got Ushers, with good statline again. Hell, even Pit Fighters eventually might see play.
It's not about loss of 'good' 5-drops, it's about loss of OP 5-drops. So actual good 5-drops can see play.

Raikaria posted a message on Who Will be Standards' Joke Class?Posted in: General DiscussionWarlock.
They lost Darkbomb; Imp-losion; Mal'Ganis; multiple Zoo cards; Arcane Golem finisher is gone; Molten Giant is nerfed hard. Zoo got hit hard. Handlock got hit pretty hard too.
Meanwhile; they got literally nothing of note.
The best Warlock might be casino Warlock which hard mulligans for Renounce Darkness and just casinos it's whole deck away. Maybe it runs Reno Jackson and a few other neutrals as well. Because that's how bad the Warlock class cards are.
If the Warlock Hero power finds a way; I'm inclined to say Paladin. Murloc and Secret took hits in the rotation, in fact, Paladin might have got hit hardest in the rotation losing a lot of core cards. Paladin struggles to remove large minions [Although they can neutralize them]. And no Paladin card added stands out that much, and if Divine Paladin becomes popular; Blood Knight just gets teched in and that new deck they're pushing goes and crawls back into the hole where it came from crying. And Blood Knight tech isn't even bad against other classes considering there might be a lot of C'Thun's Chosen. If Paladin finds a way too; and all the classes have decks; it'll be Priest.
I mean remember; before GvG; Paladin was the joke class [Shaman not that far behind]. Then GvG gave it stuff. Now it's losing said stuff.
Rouge is fine. It'll just be different. Just like it adapted and transformed from Miracle to Oil.
I think Mage/Warrior/Druid/Shama/Rouge will be fine
Hunter might have a little trouble but won't be bad. It'll be that middle class.
Priest/Paladin/Warlock are in trouble. From least to most.

user-22854542 posted a message on Community WOG Tier-list - The detailled and complete tier list by Hearthpwn membersPosted in: General DiscussionI decided to make a tier list of the WOG cards now that everything is released, but one that really means something, as a tier list is often very personnal. So i used the polls the community answered for every card, and created 5 tiers from the 5 options : Meta-defining is Tier 1, Very good is Tier 2, Playable is tier 3, Bad is Tier 4 and Dust is Tier 5. I choose the highest percentage of vote in a category to put them into a tier. I also divided Tier 2, 3 and 4 into 2 sub-tiers, the tiers + and - . For example, a tier 2 card that has its second highest number of vote in "Meta-defining" will be tier 2+, and a tier 2 card that has its second highest number of vote in "Playable" will be tier 2-
I also classed the cards in the differents tiers by percentage of votes. In the + tiers, the card with the smallest percentage are the best (because a lot of other votes were made in the upper tier) while in - tiers, the cards with the highest percentage are the best.
Some card's percentage are not in the correct order, because i moved some cards to reflect better some rankings that don't work with this technique.
In Ittalic, next to the cards, are my personnal comments.
Tier 1 These cards will define the Meta
C'Thun 77.1%
Am'gam Rager 71.2% I don't even see why it isn't 100%. Ultimate counter to Magma Rager ! Finally this cancer is gone
Master of Evolution 59.9%
Evolve 54.5% I think this is the most broken card of the expansion - The value for 1 mana is insane.
Doomcaller 54.1% Very surprised about this one. I think it is overhyped.
N'Zoth the Corruptor 53.6%
Fandral Staghelm 52.8% A bit overhyped i think. Will not likely stay on the board, and combo it right away is good but not OP.
Eternal Sentinel 48.1% This one has 47% votes "very good". I think it's more suited tier 2, but stats are stats.
Tier 2+ These cards will see competitive play in several decks.
(The first 5 cards (*) are not in percentage order, but they are very close to Tier 1 so i put them in order of the most tier 1 votes)
Twin Emperor Vek'lor *45.2% This card should definitly be tier 1. If C'thun becomes viable, this card is simply OP
Flamewreathed Faceless *44.1% This card is broken in arena, and will see play in constructed due to the BGH nerf.
Faceless Summoner *51.6%
Hallazeal the Ascended *41.7%
Shadowcaster *47.3 % I'm not sure this one is THAT good, but everyone seems hyped about it.
Deathwing, Dragonlord 36.6% For me it's not good, but it's pretty hard to assess this one.
Blade of C'Thun 40.4% I don't think C'Thun Rogue will be a thing because of the lack of heals, but if the meta is slow, this card is obviously good.
Steward of Darkshire 41.2 % I think it has the potential to define the new cancer in standard. Hope it's tier 3 :)
C'Thun's Chosen 54.4%
Disciple of C'Thun 56.2% This card will be an auto include in every single C'Thun deck. I call it.
Thing from Below 59.9%
Dark Arakkoa 60.1% The main reason why C'Thun druid would be a thing, with innervate.
Ancient Shieldbearer 60.8% The main reason why C'Thun warrior would be a thing.
Twilight Darkmender 62.2% The main reason why ... well you got it.
Tier 2- These cards will certainly be played, but in lower tier deck or will have a smaller impact in general
Ragnaros, Lightlord *49.5% This one has almost as much vote in T1 than T3, so i put him here.
Call of the Wild *42.8 % Same thing.
Blood Warriors *35% Again
Mark of Y'Shaarj *38.7 Again, although this one is overrated i think, now that we know beast druid hasn't got much.
Undercity Huckster 68.5%
Twilight Elder 66.5%
Klaxxi Amber-Weaver 65.5%
Cult Sorcerer 62.5% Will be played even in Non-C'Thun decks i think.
Mire Keeper 62%
Ravaging Ghoul 61.8%
Journey Below 61.5%
Infested Wolf 61.4% Certainly the best 4-drop possible for hunters. The spiders are beast, so a huge set up for Houdmaster, Ram wangler and Princess Huhuran (for the deathrattle effect)
Fiery Bat 57.4% Leper Gnome substitute for hunters.
Selfless Hero 57% I already fear the type of deck this card implies...
Blood To Ichor 56.6% Very solid card that has the potential to be played in a lot of different warriors.
Shadow Strike 55.3% Extremely powerfull rogue spell that will certainly be an auto-include. I would move it to tier 2+.
Princess Huhuran 54.2% Just for the fact it's the first playable hunter lengendary, she deserves a spot in tier 1.
Bloodsail Cultist 53.3%
Hooded Acolyte 52.2% I can already see this card with Wild Pyromancer and Circle of Healing. Scary.
Xaril, Poisoned Mind 50.4%
Cyclopian Horror 50.1% I don't like this card but i can see its value, so why not.
Bloodhoof Brave 48.3% Will be staple in control warrior, maybe grim (if it survives the standard)
Beckoner of Evil 47%
Bladed Cultist 44.9% I don't see why it's good honestly.
Shatter 44.1% I rather see it as a tier 3 card.
N'Zoth's First Mate / Hammer of Twilight 44%
A Light in the Darkness 43.5% Not really impressed...
Cho'gall 39.9%
Tier 3+ Good but niche cards. Will maybe be played in very specific decks.
Embrace the Shadow 36.8%
Forbidden Shaping 38.4%
Forbidden Ritual 39.1%
Vilefin Inquisitor 39.2% I think the votes are mostly for the art... Because it's only good in aggro murloc, which is bad.
Twilight Geomancer 39.5%
Blackwater Pirate 41.8%
Psych-o-Tron 42.6%
Feral Rage 42.7% I think it's beter than it seems... the versatility is very good.
Forbidden Ancient 43.7%
Darkshire Councilman 46.2%
Malkorok 46.6% I think this is seriously underrated. Should be at least tier 2-
Forbidden Healing 46.8%
Stormcrack 48.1%
Twilight Summoner / Infest 48.2%
Southsea Squidface 48.3%
Possessed Villager 49.5% I would play it just for the art.
Bilefin Tidehunter 49.8%
Addled Grizzly 50%
Crazed Worshipper 50.3%
Forlorn Stalker 50.4% I think it has potential thanks to Infested Wolf.
Twisted Worgen 50.7% I'm really surprised, expecting it way lower.
Twilight Flamecaller 50.9%
Usher of Souls 51.7%
Cabalist's Tome 52.5% I think everyone underrated this card before the stream. Might be tier 2.
Rallying Blade 52.9% Might be really good.
Hogger, Doom of Elwynn 58.1%
Tentacle of N'Zoth 59.7%
Bog Creeper 60.2%
Tier 3- Balanced cards, but will certainly be too weak for constructed. Might see play in fun decks.
Squirming Tentacle 61.3% Little brother of Evil Heckler in the Powercreep familly (R.I.P. Silverback Patriarch)
Skeram Cultist 59.4% Seems to be the worst cultist.
Nerubian Prophet 54.5% I can see it played in Evolve Shaman.
On the Hunt 51.6%
Cult Apothecary 50.3% I can only see it played in Warlock with Shadowflame.
Midnight Drake 49.6%
Primal Fusion 48.8%
Zealous Initiate 48.2%
Mukla, Tyrant of the Vale 47.6% I think it's better than it seems. Might see play in rogue or Mage (Yogg ?)
Soggoth the Slitherer 46.5%
Scaled Nightmare 45.4%
Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound / Spreading Madness 44% Seeing the mighty old gold at the same spot of this card makes me sad.
Herald Volazj 42.7% A bad Priest legendary... what a surprise !
Giant Sand Worm 42.6% Control Hunter.... I have faith in you this time...
Divine Strength 42.3% Migth be good in eboladin... ... don't even try !
Spawn of N'Zoth 42%
Carrion Grub 40.9% I actually think it is playable in midrange hunter in a fast meta. Perfect Houndmaster Target.
Ancient Harbinger 40.5%
Thistle Tea 40.4%
Corrupted Healbot 39.6%
Demented Frostcaller 36.7% It has the potential to be insane. I will definitly try it.
Anomalus 35.9%
Tier 4+ Bad cards, but could be played in fun decks, or are just boring vanilla minions for arena.
Blood of The Ancient One 35% Actually, its effect is nearly a downside... this card is total crap, it won't even be fun to play.
Forbidden Flame 35.1% On the other hand, i find this one very underrated. Could find a place in a value/Yogg mage.
Servant of Yogg-Saron 40% A pure fun card.
Eldritch Horror 45.4%
Stand Against Darkness 45.8% Could maybe be played with Steward of Darkshire, but i doubt it will be worth.
Shadow Word: Horror 47% If the meta is super aggro, this might see some play. Right now it sucks.
Polluted Hoarder 52.8% I will play this card in my N'Zoth Hunter. Challenge accepted.
Corrupted Seer *35.5% This guy has even stats between Tier 3, 4 and 5 so i put him here.
Aberrant Berserker * 35% Same
Tier 4- Bad cards. Will not see play at all, except for some troll decks.
Infested Tauren 51.5% This goes into my N'Zoth Hunter too. And yes, I will reach legend with it.
Power Word: Tentacles 49.7% This will only be played in trolls decks with every single card with tentacles in the game. Damn, i want to do it now...
Darkshire Librarian 47.1% No, Blizzard... Fist of Jaraxxus will never be a thing, sorry.
Faceless Behemoth 42% The Old God of the poors.
Evolved Kobold 40.2% I don't even have a funny thing to say... I don't see one spell that would justify these stats *Keeper of the Grove cries in a corner*
Validated Doomsayer 39.7% You want to make me believe it's playable after printing Flamewreathed Faceless ?!?
Grotesque Dragonhawk 38.7% Because everyone knows +4/+4 on an already shit minion is worth 6 mana.
DOOM! 35.9% Why playing Twisting Nether when you can play the same card for 2 more mana and a downside ?
Tier 5 These are the cards you will get from your Old Gods packs.
Duskboar 39.8% Magma Rager is nearly jealous....
Wisps of the Old Gods 45.7% I guess 5 wisps wasn't enough, that's why dark wispers was never played. Filling your board is far better.
Nat, the Darkfisher 54.6% One day, this card will mill your C'Thun. It needs to exist for that precise reason.
Tentacles for Arms 62.5% A redditor said he would give 10.000$ to charity if this card would see competitive play. You know, a tier list, it's kinda personal... a tier 5 card is not necesserally THAT bad...
The Boogeymonster 77% Every expansion has its Hemet. It's to make sure than when YOU open a pack, you get this while your friends are getting N'Zoth the Corruptor.
Unranked cards.
Some card are unranked due to a too large fluctuation in the votes.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End For obvious reasons.
Shifter Zerus Very Unique, need to see in game.
Renounce Darkness Impossible to know how strong it will be.
Darkspeaker The poll is broken, i don't have the stats. If it was me, i would rate it tier 3- (potentialy good in evolve Shaman)
Interesting facts
- To the surprise of few, C'Thun is the best card of the set, while The Boogeymonster is the worst.
- The best class legendary is Fandral Staghelm while the worst is Anomalus. They are all at least tier 3 (Playable)
- There are 88 playable cards (tier 1, 2 and 3+) out of 137, and 4 undecided.
- Shaman is the Winner. 3 cards in tier 1 (only one with druid), and every card at least Tier 3
- Warlock is the Looser. Every card tier 3 or below, and the only Tier 2 (Cho'gall) is at the very end of the list.
- Every cultist is at least T3+ (except Skeram Cultist but no one cares). This really seems a viable archetype.
- 4.5% of Hearthpwn users voted The Boogeymonster as a Meta-defining card.

dccm posted a message on I'm worried about freeze mage.Posted in: General DiscussionEverything that someone loses to is called cancer now, it's really annoying. Cancer (which shouldn't even be a term used to talk about a damn video game) is generally used to refer to decks that are omnipresent and therefore obnoxious (read: combo Druid and secret Paladin) but lately more people just use it to describe any deck that beats them. -
