posted a message on Rank icon in friend list defaulting to wild?

Noticed tonight that my ranked portrait in the friends list is defaulting to wild (where I'm bronze 10). How do I get it to show my standard rank instead? Doesn't really matter, but if they're going to include that functionality so friends can see each others' ranks, it should work as expected...

Absolutely just fuck aggro rogue and the people who play that deck. Total bullshit that if you don't draw your weapon tech, they can burst you down on turn 6 from 16 health thanks to their 8-attack weapon, pen flinger and cheap burn. Totally uninteractive gameplay that ruins the ladder experience. Blizzard really needs to print better control tools, because aggressive decks have just absolutely dominated the meta for the last year.

And pen flinger should be nerfed so that the spellburst returns a copy without the spellburst. Totally idiotic design to let a single card ping you or your minions 6+ times (more in pen flinger paladin) and there's nothing you can do about it.

When my opponent plays Pure Paladin: Attendant and/or First Day of School on 1, Hand of A'Dal on 2, Perfect curve thereafter into LoH + Braggart on 7.

When I play Pure Paladin: 5+ cost cards for the first three turns.

Pen Flinger Paladin (that's what the deck is, enough of the Libroom labeling) is the most annoying shit in the world. Just a slow, tedious grind and there's pretty much nothing you can do about it.

Blessing of Kings: 4 mana +4/+4. OK.

Blessing of Authority: 5 mana +8/+8. ...ok??

posted a message on What Class do you think is hardest hit with basic/standard rotation

Mage is losing a lot of cards that have appeared in its control decks over the years, particularly Frost Nova and Blizzard. Rogue is also losing some cards that have appeared in pretty much every playable rogue deck since inception. Those two classes are the hardest hit.

Jaraxxus or Mal'Ganis, for sure. Honorable mention to Rafaam for those organ chords.

posted a message on I Hit A Wall at Diamond 1 Three Stars

I've only made legend twice - in December of last year and January of this year. In December I was playing Zoo when nobody else was and in January I played Highlander Paladin. Both tempo oriented decks that are awkward to deal with that people didn't have experience playing against and I cruised to legend. Not sure there's anything really like that, now, particularly since Cheese Paladin warped the meta and tempo decks can't keep up with aggro Rogue.

Point is, in order to get to legend you need to either 1) get lucky, 2) play a deck that can handle the entire meta or 3) grind T1/T2 decks with a >50% WR.

192, with pass. Playing a couple hours a day between ranked and BG, usually completing quests but not totally guided by them at this point.

1-4 at D5. Hit the nut curve against a Quest Warlock, otherwise lost handily to another Questlock, a Whirlkick Rogue (who had a 12/12 and 8/8 QA at the end of turn 5), Face Hunter and Dragon Druid. The face hunter matchup was close and I probably should have armored more instead of curving out. Some very bad hands, particularly if you draw Ganargs and Sword Eaters without any draw or buffs.

Edit: 3-5 at D5 before making some changes. Dropped 1 Skydiving Instructor, Captain Greenskin, 2x Playmaker and 2x Athletic Studies for Quest, Sky General Kragg, 2x Corsair Cache and 2x Wrenchcalibur. Loses some of the rush flavor, but 4-0 with this version so far. Corsair Cache can probably be a 1-of, but I like being able to consistently have a weapon online and hitting either Ancharr or Wrench with the +1 charge is huge.

Really hope Savage Roar is sent to wild. So frustrating to die from full health on turn 6 because i couldn't clear a board of 2/2s in time. Just brainless gameplay. Spam tokens, wait for board to stick, then double savage roar.

posted a message on When do you concede?

    1) When my opponent has obvious lethal on the board. If my opponent has a lethal that isn't obvious (e.g. requires specific trades) and I still have outs, I'll see if he screws up.

    2) When I'm clearly going to lose the fatigue battle and there's no possible way for me to claw it back or force a draw.

    3) If I'm playing a combo deck and he burns a key piece.

Strong deck! 4-0 at D5/D4 against a Token Druid, HL Hunter, Quest Priest and Lifesteal DH (the DH misplayed badly, to be fair). As long as you can survive a strong aggro opener, this deck has outs against everyone. Might drop the Kobold Stickyfingers (When did Kibler play this?) - there's really only a handful of weapons you really want to destroy in this meta, let alone steal. I get that it increases weapon tech density in a HL deck, but not facing enough weapons to justify a 5 mana 4/4 in most matchups.

Having played various Big Paladin decks over the last two years and lots of N'Zoth Pali since DMF, the rise of Cheese Paladin infuriates me. I give full credit to the redditor who created it, for figuring out a broken list, but don't these people clicking through HSReplay and spamming this shit have any shame? Don't you want to play a deck that rewards the decisions you make in the game? Don't you want to be punished or rewarded for your card play, as opposed to whether you queue into your perfect counter?

Give me a Bag of Hell Rogue finding 100x lethal any day over someone just pushing the button on a broken deck.

posted a message on Warlock allowed to destroy entire deck with Tickatus in ranked?

enoX - don't super care for your tone. I responded to you respectfully, would ask you to do the same. I'm not really a priest player - this season I've been playing HL Mage, Zoo and Control Shaman. It is true that the Tickatus played WR reflects the fact that he's almost never tempo'd out, even against aggro, and therefore only played in favorable matchups, but his inflated WR shows that in those matchups, he almost certainly wins the game. Control Warlock should not be so favored against other control decks and needs a card that burns 10 cards in order to win. It's a bullshit interaction with essentially no possible counterplay. There's no risk involved, like there is with Illucia (whose own played WR suggests that tempoing her out is almost always a bad idea). There are no considerations for timing, beyond needing to corrupt it first, it can be tutored by Sense Demons and you can play a second free copy on turn 10! It's a "win the game" card against control that doesn't require any thinking - why is that good for the game?
