Pretty bad promotion if the information doesn't actually get to the players. Normally I log on every day, this weekend I decided to take some time off HS. And now I find I missed out on a free epic (which I didn't have and hoped to get). Super big marketing success - punish everyone who isn't following every bit of HS news every single day of the year...
I really like the new expansion so far. It seems they're pushing for more minion-based midrange play, which I think is more fun than aggro X heavy control. Adding stats to cards in the hand makes for a lot of variability, so there is no straightforward situation (e.g.,"if he plays bloodhoof brave, I soulfire + dark peddler into it to take it out... oh, the bloodhoof is a 4/8, hmm, have to find another solution...").
Tbh, I think one part of it really is that it's a money sink ("trap" is not the right word imho), that is, to reduce the amount of gold saved by players before the new expansion comes out. Honestly, even a very solid player can't expect to get more than 3-4 wins on average (which is less than 1k value), seeing that it's constructed and will see highly competitive play. The 12-win streak is more theoretical than anything else, very few people will reach it.
A more efficient money sink would be to have a lower cost and lower rewards, so that's why I don't think "money sink" was the main/only reason for them to do it. It's some kind of experiment with high stake gambling. Hopefully it will lead up to some more useful and fun format. The Heroic TB itself might flop completely if not many players join in.
I'm playing a spell hunter with Yogg, and it's great fun and so far has won me the majority of matches. The only minions are 2x King's Elekk, Emperor Thaurissan, and Yogg-Saron. Then you have 2x Call of the Wild, 2x Animal Companion, 2x Bear Trap, 2x Unleash the Hounds for extra minions, but summoned by spells. 2x Lock and Load for some hefty card draw, 1x Ball of Spiders for more card draw, the rest is removal. Give it a try, it's the most fun I've had with a deck :-)
Awesome card, but totally underpriced. Even for 10 mana it would be strong and played in almost all hunter decks. Seeing that it's epic, you can have 2 copies of it, so you can go turn 8 Call and turn Call. That's a killer against almost anything.
The one thing I find annoying post-TGT is that I keep running up against paladins with Murloc Knight and Seal of Champions. I haven't met a paladin without the Murloc (and usually they have 2-3). I can still win often enough, but it just gets very monotonous, which is a shame because Arena runs used to be quite versatile experiences for me.
Warlock is pretty good if you get some healing and a fair amount of aggressive/low-mana cards.
Hello! I'm a casual Hearthstone player and I don't really have many in-game friends on Battle.net or playing HS. Sometimes I get the "Spectate a Friend" quest and I don't have anyone to spectate. I was thinking maybe I'm not the only one like that. Would anyone like to add me as a friend? I wouldn't mind spectating or playing some friendly matches even for the social and learning aspect. I don't play so often (variously in the morning, afternoon, or early evening, not every day) and usually not for very long, but I'm a friendly type and not the one to gripe or angst.
I play on the EU server, I usually rank around 12-15, but when I play more I can rank better.
I've been checking out Hearthpwn for a long time already, but I'm new to the forums - perhaps you can PM me if you're interested? :-)

You guys are all missing out on Void Terror. Add that in combo with Power Overwhelming, and you have a sick finishing combo for up to 40+ damage.
