benhol posted a message on More Reveals Originally Planned for Today, But There Were IssuesPosted in: NewsI honestly do not understand why people get that upset about this.
Of course it sucks a bit but ultimately the set will be released at the same time, and all cards will have been revealed beforehand.
One less reveal today means another one tomorrow, it's not like the cards have been cancelled or something XD

Chantry posted a message on Lifecoach's Summer Mansion Survival GuidePosted in: NewsLittle do they know that once they enter the mansion, they'll actually be in an elaborate mechanical maze that Lifecoach has constructed. They'll have a Hunger Games // Battle Royale style contest that lasts for two days, with only one of them emerging alive. The entire thing will be live-streamed, and viewers will think it's an elaborate hoax until the gruesome truth is eventually revealed. Lifecoach, as he's dragged away by the police, will only say "This was the true Life Coaching: only when we are faced with death can we ever be truly alive!"
Or maybe they'll just play Hearthstone?

sturobhaas posted a message on Max McCall on Keywords in Standard FormatPosted in: NewsI don't understand the anger over this... I mean wild will have every keyword created... who cares whether standard still prints it. They didn't say they would never ever ever print an inspire card again, just that they don't want a set that has 20 keywords in it... they want each set to feel unique. It's unlikely they will ever have another inspire card printed. I think what they are trying to do is keep core mechanics limited to a few keywords, and then unique set ideas that match a theme to another set of keywords... and there is no point printing inspire in an adapt set... and adapt will not be printed in a "xyzkeyword" themed set. Makes sense to me.

freddoccino posted a message on ASYLUM'S GAUNTLET (Class Creation Competition #3) - Phase I SubmissionPosted in: Fan CreationsThe Stargazer!
Who are Stargazers?
Stargazers look to the skies to study the stars — whether they use them for tools of navigation or calendar, belief in the ancient lore of the skies, or to uncover PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER!!! Ahem.
Our Hero and power:
So the token does nothing?
Besides provide you with some encouragement, yes! But that's not all it does. Its purpose is that the Hero Power specifically puts the card at the end of your deck, so you'll draw them last, helping you prevent fatigue damage without disturbing your draw throughout the game. But Wait!
The keyword for this class is called Constellation
To clarify, each individual card with constellation in your deck will provide you with a copy of it if you have a starlight card in your deck to replace. This only happens once, so you can't get infinite copies of a card by playing it each time. So, if you put two copies of one constellation card in your deck, you could potentially end up playing it four times that game. If one was added to your hand, such as through a random effect like Spellslinger, that would also produce a copy when played, and so on and so forth.

Slanteds posted a message on ASYLUM'S GAUNTLET (Class Creation Competition #3) - Phase I SubmissionPosted in: Fan CreationsClass: Runic Guardian
Hey, so my submission is the Runic Guardian. As an ancient beast sworn to protect ancient relics, the Runic Guardian draws power from the artifacts it finds and takes damage for destroying them. It will play usually as a control deck with weakness in the early game but strong recovery tools.
My solution to this challenge was to have a token that is used as a resource which would influence the power of class spells. Adding a fairly "useless" token card to your hand forces players to balance spell power with card options and the 1 dmg to your hero discourages greed/abuse of auctioneer like effects.
Of course there are concerns that with this particular keyword neutral minions would have a hard time finding a place in the deck, so the class cards are going to be fairly spell heavy with only a few minons that give a little added support to the artifact system. It also takes a while to accumulate enough artifacts so neutral early game minions are needed.
The three cards I've included showcase the general flavor of the class as well as a few different directions I plan to take it in future expansions.
Violet Runescribe is one of the staple classic minions that addresses a few of the tempo issues with such a heavy hero power dependence. It has pretty premium stats and helps ramp up your artifact count early on.
Disruption represents the first and main archetype for this class where accumulation of artifacts is encouraged. It can go from worst case 4 mana 1 dmg aoe to a fairly strong/cheap late game board clear.
Harness the Power is a different archetype for this class that I intend to develop over a few of the expansions. This archetype will encourage using up your artifacts to gain power which improves synergy with violet teacher type cards.
Some other archetypes/themes I have in mind to explore include:
- Warlockesque cards where benefits are gained for damage dealt to your hero (probably in the basic set since key words can't be used)
- Relic "Activation" where cards change the effect of the relics ie heal, summon tokens, buffs
- Tribal Synergy either with prexisting tribes (dragons/beasts etc) or a newly made tribe (probably based on buildings/ruins)

NoName11247 posted a message on Mean Streets of Gadgetzan - Hearthstone What's New PanelPosted in: NewsI mean, Dragon priest sounds cool for now but you have to remember that Dragon priest loses most of its powerful cards in a couple of months.
- Twilight Whelp
- Wyrmrest Agent
- Blackwing Technician
- Blackwing Corruptor
- Twilight Guardian
- ChillmawAlso gone:
- Entomb
- Excavated Evil
So even if priest will be playable for a few weeks. That will not last for long. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Now I want to make an Aviana-Kun-Togwaggle OTK.
With an empty deck:

It's actually pretty consistent if you look at it. Symmetrical damage like Cone of Cold and Powershot use the phrase "the minions next to it" while asymmetrical damage like Explosive Shot, Avalanche, Grievous Bite, and Meteor use the phrase "Adjacent ones."

I feel like I've seen this guy before...
Rest in pieces little guy.

Considering the minions need to have exactly 7 Health, I don't see how Glitter Moth can help.
4
Looking at Fight Promoter, I would reckon Star Aligner requires the minions to be at exactly 7 Health. Since Fight Promoter can also trigger off herself using hand buffs, I would say that Star Aligner also counts as one of the 3 minions. So you will need two other minions with exactly 7 Health in order to trigger Star Aligner's Battlecry.

Snipe and Explosive Runes are actually very effective for stopping any big Flobbidinous Floop Combos. If they drop Aviana or Malygos, you clear it with hard-removal and than drop one of those secrets. If they play their 4-mana copy, it dies, but if they play another minion Flobbidinous Floop transforms into it. They can't do anything to play around it because the only secret hate cards Druid has access to are Kezan Mystic, Eater of Secrets, and Chief Inspector, all minions. If Malygos Druid sees a rise in popularity, you will likely see a rise in Hunter and Mage as well to counter it.

The Year of the Hydra
Welcome to the Year of the Hydra! A wonderful year to celebrate the terrifying monstrosities that love to devour anything and everything. Aren't they just adorable? Here we'll explore new species spotted in Dustwallow Marsh, then we'll research ancient magic long since forgotten, and we'll top it all off with a relaxing, and totally pirate-free, vacation at the island resort know as Sandy Retreat.
Dustwallow Bestiary
New and strange creatures have been discovered in the marshlands of Dustwallow. A team of explorers has been dispatched to the area to document and record these new beasts. This expansion is all about beasts. From frogs to dinosaurs, you'll discover loads of new beasts, even in classes that don't typically have beasts.
A new Keywords has also been added called Delay. Delay will postpone effects for a set amount of turns. A Delay of 1 will trigger at the start of your next turn, while a Delay of 2 will trigger at the start of your turn after that. The Marshlands make it difficult to move around, causing a lot of slow down. These new beasts are especially affected, as they have not yet adapted to their new environment.
The Secrets of the Athenaeum
Inside the great library of the Scarlet Crusade, secret , ancient magic is being researched in order to defeat the undead scourge. You will discover this ancient magic sealed inside old and forgotten tomes. Every class will have their own spell tome that can be used to discover more powerful cards. Of course, their activities haven't gone unnoticed. The undead scourge has planned an assault in order to desecrate these ancient tomes before they can be used against them. A lot of these undead cards will revolve around having a small hand size, sacrificing knowledge in the pursuit of power.
Summer on Sandy Beach
Come one, come all to the new hot beach resort. That small dreary island that used to be nothing more than a stopping off point has now been renovated into a lovely tropical resort. Come to visit the only hotel in all of Azeroth that was built on the water. Enjoy your stay at the wonderful Sandy Retreat. Disclaimer: We are not responsible for any pirate attacks on your way to Sandy Beach.
A new keyword has been added called Tide. Many cards have their effects dependant on the tide level. Your tide level is independent of your opponent's tide level. However, there may be ways to raise or lower your opponent's tide as well.
Hall of Fame
I haven't been paying too much to the Hearthstone Meta, so I have no idea what cards are problematic for the game. But I have been able to find three cards that seem a little too powerful for the classic set.
Cold Blood - This one is pretty simple. For 1 mana you can deal 4 damage to your opponent, all you need is a charge minion. Combine this with Eviscerate and you have a lot of burst damage from hand. The Combo condition is never really hard to pull off since the card only costs 1 mana.
Divine Favor - A card that punishes decks for conserving resources. Its a staple for any aggressive deck to restock on resources to continue pushing for the win. I'm not a fan of cards that punish slower decks unless it can only fit in a slow deck itself. Aggressive decks already have an advantage in tempo and now it allows it to compensate for when it runs out of resources.
Upgrade! - This choice when made based on cards I will release in the future sets. I don't want too many weapon buff cards to cause the resurgence of the Pirate Warrior meta. I want the Warrior class to have some high-attack, low-durability weapons and Upgrade! presents a problem of allowing these high attack weapons to stick around longer.

Starving Buzzard + Dollmaster Dorian. If you draw a Beast, it gets summoned, which causes you to draw another card. This chain reaction will continue until you draw a card that isn't a Beast or your board is full. Dollmaster Dorian opens up the potential for so many meme decks.
