Yeah, the Nellie nerf seems enormous to me. The only problem with it was Smite. If they just removed the option to pick him problem would have been solved without the need of such butchering.
And the Cariel nerf is just laughable. It's not like paladins generally need to play it on turn 7 just to survive. Playing it on turn 7 o 8 won't change anything. The thing that kills me about that card is how on Earth could they possibly think this card was remotely balanced, compared to other classes' hero cards?!? I mean:
Battlecry: consecration (that is, only hitting the opponent's board, compared to the warlock's) + equip a weapon that allows you basically a 0-mana hunter hero power (almost) a turn, + taking half the damage for the rest of the game (unless the opponent runs weapon removal)
Hero power: give +4/+4 to a minion (that is Smite) for 2 mana, each turn.
Let's compare it with others shall we...
Reminds me of "wildpaw caverns" vs all the other classes' objectives...

Sure thing! But when a card EVERY SINGLE reviewer called out as "hilarious, super-fun but ultimately super-memey" makes its way into tournaments (!!!) something has clearly gone wrong!

We live in a meta with 7 tier-1 decks. None of which requires any skill whatsoever to play. Simply click whatever glows orange, then whatever glows green.
The funny fact is the following: despite Blizzard and this game's player community blatantly exhibiting an obsession towards 5-6 turns-long matches (tops!), we still happen to regularly witness professionals at tournaments spending dozens of minutes on a single game. Pretty misleading, ain't it?!?
I guess we can call it the Hearthstone's alternate reality!

3 Control Warriors
3 Naga Mages
3 Thief Rogues
2 Naga Priests
2 Boar Priests
1 Ping Mage (basically an iteration of naga mage)
1 Naga DH
... and 1 unbelievably bold control paladin!!!
14/16 of decks > 4/10 of classes
Awesome Blizzard, as always. Thank you.
And a special thanks to the clever minds behind the design of Smite, Amulet of Undying and Spitelash Siren. Nice job!

Boar decks being competitively viable is horrible news for the game imo.

Love it when I see people responding to Cariel complaints by saying "just play weapon removal", as if they truly considered having access to a 2-mana "give +4/+4 to a minion in your hand" hero power, from (possibly) turn 7 onward was an irrelevant detail.
Oh yeah, and they still happen to consecrate the opponent's board as a bonus.
Yeah, sounds balanced.

After the latest patch it doesn't activate as it should if you have the mana. Am I the only one experiencing this?

You people need to understand the psychological purpose of roping. It's about payback. It's about players wanting to impose 3 minutes games to each and every opponent. And about opponents exercising their right to negate that imposition by using the only tool they're left with: time wasting.
So no, we don't gain anything from roping. But we pay them back with the same currency: frustration.

Yeah. Day two and 95% of the mage decks out there are 99% identical. Thanks again, theorycrafting streamers...
