Ophion-EU posted a message on Update on Weekly Quests - Quests Will be Easier to CompletePosted in: NewsWe had seen that many players routinely completed their Weekly Quests through their regular play, without even really engaging with the Weekly Quest system
Because when I log into Hearthstone I want to play the decks I've built and that I think are fun. I don't want to play a deck with only miniaturize minions because a weekly quest requires me to, that is not fun and it interferes with my goal to get legend every month, which already can take the better part of that month.

Distemper94 posted a message on Update on Weekly Quests - Quests Will be Easier to CompletePosted in: NewsI find it odd that this change with initially a monumental increase in requirements comes a few weeks before the heroic tavern brawl/miniset announcement. Moreover, the ASAP timeline basically says nothing. Does it mean that players will have to forgo a couple of thousand XP this week/next week because Blizzard is still working on it?
To me, it has a slight scent of trying to pull money out of players' pockets. Oh, you missed one/two weeks of weekly quests because of the high requirements and now don't have enough gold for the miniset? Well, too bad. Looks like you have to spend money for it after all.
I know that it might not be intentional, and maybe I'm reaching, but hey, that fits into a usual pattern of screwing up parts of gameplay/monetization for seemingly noble causes.

sPacEtiMe19 posted a message on This game is deadPosted in: General Discussion“Game dead” is without a doubt the cringiest statement about gaming ever conceived. “Game dead” translates to “I’m not enjoying myself personally” in literally 99% of cases that it’s stated, but to the person saying it, doesn’t belittle the game enough.
It radiates big “I’m not having fun so others shouldn’t either” energy, and it’s just some massive cringe.

Nekkro2 posted a message on New Neutral Legendary Card Revealed - Joymancer JepettoPosted in: NewsI really like this card. This is my type of card. Pretty Heavy on the deckbuilding potential. It has the flavor of that gives you all your Toys to your hand (Minis) but isn't limited to just that.
You can do so much with this, go full on Crazyness and add a bunch of Chaotic Tendril to your hand. But can gives you another Lynessa Sunsorrow, another Cage Head, Amitus, the Peacekeeper, Eyestalk of C'Thun.
Every single Astral Automaton and Pogo-Hopper you played that game. The potential and creativity is crazy.
The only thing I hope is that my man, the OG toymaker, Dollmaster Dorian returns to this set. Don't disrespect my boy.

pumpkinescobar2 posted a message on 1st time Legend!!Posted in: General DiscussionJust had to celebrate..been playing since beta and finally did it. Highest I climbed before rank celings was rank 6 waaay back. Usually sit in platinum. Feels good I set my mind to it and did it.
Played XL Control Warrior almost the entire season. 56% win rate did it in the end. Got to rank 1 3 stars a week ago before going back to rank 5 which was brutal and really demoralizing. Mirrors were the longest and hardest games.

Zizka posted a message on Finally diamondPosted in: General DiscussionOnce you’ve hit legend once, reaching diamond is a walk in the park because star multiplier will pretty much get you there.
Reaching diamond without that is a challenge however, so congratulations! -

Baldassar posted a message on SuspiciousPosted in: General DiscussionI've been playing Hearthstone nonstop since beta and i have spent 0€ on the game.
I also went infinite in arena back in classic and didn't waste my dust, so i basically never need to spend money on anything.
What I'm getting to is that Blizzard would have absolutely no reason to ever give me favorable matchups, and yet i do get them often enough.
Do you want to know what correlation i actually have noticed with when i get those matchups? It happens whenever i spend the time to figure out what the actual metagame is, as opposed to just looking at a tier list for 1 second, or simply winging it.

I think the only way this patch can be considered a success is if they nerf all of the cards I hate and buff the ones I love. Anything else is cowardice.

I can't remember the last time I played an Arena game, as I don't enjoy the mode. I use my Arena keys to create a deck and then retire before playing a game.

A punch in the face rather than a kick in the balls.
Thanks, Blizzard!

Feel free to preface every sentence in this post with "I think..." :)
Whilst I don't think you're entirely wrong, I think the issue is a bit more than "Reward X costs more than it used to".
If the people -here- are feeling disenfranchised, think about those players for whom the gold rewards are essential for building a collection. They're not being petty or entitled, they're now going to find it -much- harder to play competitively. So why bother? Why not play Slay the Spire instead?
We used to have a good relationship with Blizzard. Sure, they'd make mistakes but there was always the feeling that they -were- mistakes and that Blizzard wanted us to enjoy the game. We grew used to that symbiotic relationship, especially as (to us) it seemed to be working. The release an expansion, we buy it, gripe about balance, they tweak the balance, they release a new expansion ... and round and round we go.
It just feels like things have got less sympathetic very, very quickly. It's as if a new boss has come in and started turning the screw on us (endless overpriced content in the store, shuttering of Duels, inconsistency of Twist, reduction of rewards) and we're looking around, going "Huh? Where did the nice people go? I don't understand."
In my opinion, the rate of change has been too quick and too consistently antagonistic to the players.

100% this
I want to play the way -I- want to play, not the way you want me to.

Look at the tone of people's responses.
There was a time when our relationship with Blizzard felt mutually beneficial, like we were all part of one team, trying to make Hearthstone better.
But now we have New Overlords and things are different. Their seeming disdain for us has caused us to mistrust and resent them.
People always bang on about "The end of the game". We're not there yet but this is how it starts. I've seen it many times before and I'm sure I'm not alone. I wish I could believe that the powers that be would have a change of heart and that things could get back to what they were before but my experience suggests this is nit going to be the case.
I suppose it's because what I consider to be a "good" system is one that's skewed in favour of the customer.
>> insert rant on the problems with capitalism here <<
If we are going to keep loving this game, I fear we're going to have to lower our expectations. There's no going back.

It's like Blizzard is trying to break up with us but doesn't have the courage to come out and say it. Instead it treats us worse and worse, hoping that we'll be the ones to end the relationship. Sort of like the time that my ex, Emma, locked me out of the house.
It wasn't that long ago that I held Blizzard up as an example of a good software house that deserved my money. It's no exaggeration to say that those days are over. I'm feeling unvalued as a customer and I feel no good will towards the company.
I'm not given to hyperbole but I am starting to wonder how much more of this I'm willing to put up with.
If it wasn't against the rules to sell your Blizzard account, I'd be considering cashing it all in.

*shrugs* That's me ignoring quests from now on.

"I was under the impression i couldnt die since i was at 29 hp"
How many times have I been in that situation...? :)

Add in a layer where Khadgar says "What would you like me to do?"
Options could be:
That way it's still random-ish, but closer to Discover functionality, which'd make it more useful.
