I think I'll skip this one.  I don't really need 40 dust all that much.

I've got Legend a few times, to prove to myself that I could.  Beyond that, there's no reason to put in the grind.

I'm not a massively competitive player and so I find the ladder to be zero fun.  I mean, what kind of bumhead enjoys playing Dew Process?

posted a message on This card needs a big nerf

Damage from hand is a real pain as it's one of the hardest things to counter.   When 'Tosser works, it's very dramatic but like twirl says, it's hard to use.  That's the thing with recognisable win conditions... you only tend to see them when they work.  For every time you've taken 8+ damage, there are three tiomes where the card just sat in your opponent's hand, doing bugger all.

No one likes losing but if it wasn't 'Tosser, it'd be something else. :)

posted a message on Dealing with rage and the feeling of "unfairness"

All we can really do is to tell you the things you already know.  However, there's a difference between knowing something and feeling it.  Knowing that it's just a game and tha\t it isn't something you should get too stressed about doesn't actually deal with the problem.

Don't expect there to be a quick fix.  Don't expect that all of a sudden you'll "get it".  It's an issue we all deal with (I think) and it's something that gets easier over time. After winning and losing thousands of games, one bad game or even one bad meta becomes less important.  If I can get through Jade Druid, Even Warrior, Big Priest and Secret Mage, I can outlast the current meta.  :)

My number one tip?  The thing it took me way too long to work out?  If you want to be competitive, you need to play a competitive deck, and play it well.  That takes more practice than you might think.  And even then, you might still lose.

If you're finding it hard to stay level, it's possible the real trigger lies outside the game and Hearthstone, which is supposed to be a tool to help you relax, is exacerbating your outside frustrations, rather than relieving them.  If that's the case, the best (and hardest) thing to do is to talk to people.

But always remember.... you're playing a game where you're pretending to be a fantasy character in a make-believe tavern, playing an imaginary card game. :)

    Good luck, mate.

posted a message on Huge Balance Pass for Constructed - Changes to AoE, Reno & Zarimi and OTK Style Decks

I think the only way this patch can be considered a success is if they nerf all of the cards I hate and buff the ones I love.  Anything else is cowardice.

posted a message on Unauthorized Bot-Ban Update – April 2024 & Arena Queue Change for Exploitive Accounts

I can't remember the last time I played an Arena game, as I don't enjoy the mode.  I use my Arena keys to create a deck and then retire before playing a game.

posted a message on Update on Weekly Quests - Quests Will be Easier to Complete

Feel free to preface every sentence in this post with "I think..." :)

Whilst I don't think you're entirely wrong, I think the issue is a bit more than "Reward X costs more than it used to".

If the people -here- are feeling disenfranchised, think about those players for whom the gold rewards are essential for building a collection.  They're not being petty or entitled, they're now going to find it -much- harder to play competitively.  So why bother?  Why not play Slay the Spire instead?

We used to have a good relationship with Blizzard.  Sure, they'd make mistakes but there was always the feeling that they -were- mistakes and that Blizzard wanted us to enjoy the game.  We grew used to that symbiotic relationship, especially as (to us) it seemed to be working.  The release an expansion, we buy it, gripe about balance, they tweak the balance, they release a new expansion ... and round and round we go.

It just feels like things have got less sympathetic very, very quickly.  It's as if a new boss has come in and started turning the screw on us (endless overpriced content in the store, shuttering of Duels, inconsistency of Twist, reduction of rewards) and we're looking around, going "Huh?  Where did the nice people go?  I don't understand."

In my opinion, the rate of change has been too quick and too consistently antagonistic to the players.

    100% this

I want to play the way -I- want to play, not the way you want me to.
