You need to beat control decks well before the late game with a midrange or aggro deck. If you're control too then you're doing the same type of stuff lmao
I still feel like Y’Shaarj requires a lot to even pull off (you have to corrupt the cards then play them in the first place) and by the time you play him, midrange and aggro decks should’ve already won, and control decks should have the answers.
The achievements list feels like it’s running suboptimally threaded code. Or it’s running a bunch of unnecessary code between creating each achievement UI in the list. Really unfortunate business/QA didn’t flag this as a blocking bug.
I’ve got the tavern pass and I’ve done all of the weeklies and dailies up to this point. I’ve also done most of the achievements that reward xp (6 left.) I am just shy of level 50.
Duplicate protection is the key. From zero, with a new expansion without the miniset, it takes about:
32 packs for all commons
63 packs for all rares
174 packs for all epics
Every 20 packs should give a legendary (average, not a guarantee)
The miniset is supposed to have 35 cards and will be added to MDF packs. We do not know what rarity distribution it will have. Galakrond's Awakening was an adventure with 35 cards. It had 15 commons, 12 rares, 4 epics and 4 legendaries. With a similar distribution, it should take about 24 packs to get all of the commons and rares. That likely also comes with a few epics and a legendary.
How many packs to open really comes down to your goals. The miniset's commons and rares will have more value than duplicate commons and rares after your second that you may get now that you won't use.
I suspect we'll see it in January, but that's a guess.
There is no such thing as a broken card after turn 10. Midrange and Aggro decks are supposed to have lost by then. Control decks might still survive because they’re fully capable of clearing a Y’shaarj board. And because control is so capable, a well-planned Y’shaarj swing is perfect to challenge them.
It has huge deck building restrictions. Corrupt cards have to be in the deck! Those cards are only tied to this expansion as well. Additionally those cards have to be corrupted which affects the other cards that have to be in the deck, typically of a higher mana cost. Then those cards have to be played before the corrupt cards.
The one time I got intentionally roped recently, it was in Bronze ranked wild and the player would’ve won anyway because I was messing around. A totally pointless tactic.
You had an awful mulligan against an aggro deck. That put you way behind to start. Most Aggro DH is stopped at that point against those Big Taunts. The combo the DH put together was really cool to see. He set that up across multiple turns, had to get perfect draw and had just enough board space to pull it off. A rare, delightful treat to see. Most Aggro DH will not be able to do that.

I felt that this was the case! The pre-opening still considered the Hunter packs to be before the next expansion, I’m sure of it!

Rogue has a higher skill cap than some other classes.

Oh my mistake, thanks. Yeah, that Pally just had bad luck or didn’t know how to pilot their deck.

You have to get all of the cards in your hand to deal that much damage. That's just like any other OTK combo.
Blade Dance is like a multicard Brawl. Actually tougher to pull off.

Still too early imo to decide how settled the meta is.
