xanzan1 posted a message on Servant of Yogg-Saron Tryouts is This Week's Tavern BrawlPosted in: NewsWhile some people find repeat brawls annoying, I find the week by week complaining infinitely more so. We get it, you hate repeat brawls especially ones with RNG. Just get your pack or ignore the brawl and STFU.

L_Willard posted a message on I've spent $120 dollars on this expansion and can't make any of the tier 1 decks on Tempo Storm right nowPosted in: General DiscussionMy problem isn't enjoyment of the gameplay but the value I get from investment.
Don't spend money on the game. Simple.
The issue that keeps cropping up with every expansion is that there is this need to collect every shiny new card in the game. If anyone thinks that can be accomplished by throwing money at blind packs, then that's their real problem. The system isn't designed to give you the specific thing you are looking for. Which should be obvious.
The thing that I find interesting about these posts is that the people who are the most upset are the ones who continuously dump money into the game with every expansion. They have the largest collections and yet are the most unsatisfied.

Maukiepaukie posted a message on Hunter is the new Pirate Warrior scumPosted in: General DiscussionI personally don't mind hunter that much. The thing that annoys me about it is that it has always been the same bs: play obvious shit on curve, make obvious trades and finish off by pressing heropower and kill commands. No viable hunter deck has ever deviated from that plan

banstylejbo posted a message on When the hell are priests DK going to be nerfed?Posted in: Card DiscussionWhen will DK Priest be nerfed?
Never. Because the deck isn't good enough to be nerfed. It isn't nearly as high a percentage of the meta as Druid was prior to the nerfs and the stats show that Raza Priest decks are highly skill dependent. Stats posted just the other day on another thread showed Raza Priest as the 7th best performing archetype among decks with enough sample size for them to count. Some lists performing around 70% win rate and others around 45% or lower. That right there tells you that the pilot of the deck is incredibly important to the deck's performance. Blizzard won't nerf a deck that doesn't have a high across the board win rate regardless of pilot. In fact, those are the kinds of decks they probably want to have around. I won't say that it can't be frustrating to lose to the deck sometimes, but the same can be said of other decks as well. At least the games are long enough for both players to have time to enact their game plan and they are interactive. What more do you want? Would you rather die on turn 4 to aggro decks instead? At least Raza Priest can potentially end the game quickly rather than draw the game out forever.

TOMAtheHAWK posted a message on How are you liking the meta so far?Posted in: General DiscussionPersonally, I despise aggro decks and feel like they lack any form of skill necessary to win the game since it's basically just play a minion or weapon and hit face for five turns until the game is over, which really ruins the overall enjoyment of this game. I love this new meta and I sincerely hope that Blizzard continues to support this kind of meta because control decks make for long and interesting games full of thoughtful and skillful decision making.

Might not be because it was broken, but because it was too different and just didn’t work.

Seems like they are pushing Treant Druid to be a midrange/late game deck. I've never played it (or really faced it), but I'm not sure it has enough horsepower to go that late.
It's fine, not every archetype needs to be tier 1, but you'd expect more from a legendary that is trying to push an archetype.

This is the one card I never thought they would print.

Eh, I dunno. That it is a deathrattle means it really isn't ideal as anti-aggro. They can dictate whether they trade in or ignore, and you're in that spot where you want your minion to die and sometimes you can't kill it. Deathrattle AoE's are weaker than you think. Chillmaw only worked because it had taunt.
Unless there is a threat of an activator like what rogue has, I'm not sure this will see play. But it's impossible to tell with priest decks what will work and what doesn't.

Five mana - do nothing, then spend more mana/cards to get the egg to hatch, and you're not even guaranteed any thing good from it.
Won't see play. Cool design, great flavor, but just no.

I don't think this card is as meta-breaking as people think...
You gotta remember, it's 7 mana, do nothing to the board. That's awfully late to be passing your turn. Most cards that have been 6+ mana, do pretty much nothing to the board, have always been way worse than people thought.
3
Eh, I'm not as sold on this one making the cut. Handlock is great for what you can get out on turn 4. Yes, on turn 6 you can get an 9/9 taunt in a perfect world. But the world isn't perfect, and a bunch of times this is going to be a bad card. I like the design though, for sure.
7
Ignore the "copies" part, this is still just good as a removal card. Compare to Vilespine Slayer. One more mana, but one more attack and more importantly, no combo requirement. Vilespine was a tier 1 card, seems like this is right at the same power level.
Then it has that anti-combo wombo stuff, but that's just gravy in case some deck gets too out of hand.
2
Ramp Pally won't be a thing. You can't have one and only one card in your deck to ramp, because 50% of the time you won't even draw it.
What a weird card, though. Given how aggressively statted it is, my guess is that it just isn't that good in the end.

Best brawl in the game, definitely my favorite. The only thing that sucks is the long games.
Those that think this is a RNG !@#$show are those that blame their repeated 1-3 arena runs on RNG. This, IMO, is the most skill-required brawl.
