Vernula posted a message on Friendly reminder that cards look and play completely differentPosted in: Card DiscussionJade Idol was supposed to break the game, Patches the Pirate just a Stonetusk Boar [/card], [card]Dr. Boom sucked, and playing Mysterious Challenger doesn't give you enough value for a vanilla 6 mana 6/6.
While you evaluate cards this upcoming spoiler season, just remember that how a card looks and how a card plays are usually totally different. It's pretty easy to tell when something's crap (Backstreet Leper, for instance), but you shouldn't be too quick to dismiss things, especially prior to the whole set coming out.

MrBowser01 posted a message on HS Player Survey (Results Will Be Public)Posted in: General DiscussionUpdate 4: Results are now live everyone! The link is below!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjafAU87q_E&t=1s
As always feedback is appreciated!
Note: I am new to creating videos... so FYI...
Thank you everyone for your participation! The survey is now at 1000 responses and is now closed!
Thank you so much HearthPwn Community I will let everyone know when I have the results! :)
Hello Everyone!
I thought it would be cool to create a survey that at least attempts to capture the Hearthstone Player Experience and share it with everyone. So yeah, if any of you want to take it that would be great! It only took me and my buddy 2-4 minutes depending on how much you want to write.
The link is below!
It is also through Google Forms so at least you know it is scam free haha. Also, I don't ask for your username or any personal info in the survey itself.
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6RBw_9iB8JdnL-eu0ngfLVHJKwGWVFBI9sjCbr0kIvyh99w/viewformUpdate 3: Thank you Hearthpwn community! I have already logged over 650 responses! I was initially worried that I wouldn't even break 100 responses :p. Just to let everyone know I will probably close the survey Sunday or when I have logged 1000 responses, whichever comes first, this is primarily due to the large volume of responses that have been sent my way and I ask 2 verbatim questions which I need to manually trudge through and categorize. So if you want to be in the survey the link is above!
Update 2: Just wanted to thank everyone! We already have over 250 responses in under 4 hours!
I'm glad there is so much interest regarding for this survey! After you take the survey if there are any future questions you want asked/that you think missed it would be super helpful to leave it in the comments section! It will give me ideas of what to tweak/add!Update 1: Also huge shout out to the Hearthpwn community your engagement has been super helpful! Over 100 responses in just an hour!
Little extra info if you want it:
I have a background in customer experience (specifically in survey design (double note, this survey isn't perfect as I am limited to different software since this isn't a work project but I tried to keep it short and engaging :) ) , Voice of Customer, and culture and communications) and seeing how other people view the game and what other people like and dislike about hearthstone is something that I think would be really interesting for a lot of people.
(Google might require you to sign in though i'm not sure, but I don't ask you for anything personal nor will see your gmail, password, etc. so don't be scared!)
Once I have a decent N size I'll create a little presentation on YouTube and update the thread with a YouTube link where I will walk through the results! (My channel is called Mr. Game Experience, don't judge me or look at it yet since it is in its infancy and I am new to video editing)
Also this is completely separate from Blizzard and am in no way affiliated with them nor is this survey affiliated with any business. This is just a fun hobby thing.
Andddd finally if you have any comments about the survey itself (bad question or link doesn't work, etc.) and what I should ask next time or anything just leave a comment below! Ideally if people are interested I would put together one of these things every expansion or twice a year.
Thanks Everyone!! -

Mr_butts posted a message on Blizzard doesn't care about high skill playersPosted in: General DiscussionThe problem is that when Blizzard has a game that is available on multiple platforms they pick one platform to be the "main platform" and tend to balance the game around that player base. High skill players play almost exclusively on computers while Blizzard is pretty clearly trying to make Hearthstone a phone/tablet game. The same problem is happening in Overwatch where console players get no love, no access to the PTR, balance changes are done around computer players and even on the Blizzard forums Jeff Kaplan will respond to complaint threads with 10 pages but complaints from console players will go to like 50 pages and never get a response.
We often forget that Blizzard doesn't owe us anything just because we are good. Legend players make up less than 1% of the 50+ million players so why listen to them when you have 30 million players who are willing to spend money at rank 20 and below? Blizzard is a business and having a game that competes with candy crush is a lot more profitable than a game that is good for the top 1,000 players.
Here's some reasons that I feel show Blizzard never intended Hearthstone to be some super hardcore competitive game and they've been viewing at as a phone game for quit some time now.
- The game at it's core is silly and whimsical. The art, the voice lines, the characters, the boards are all fairly simple and childish. I think this is Blizzard realizing people are starting to play video games earlier and earlier so they are moving away from the Diablo style and more toward Overwatch/Hearthstone style.
- They continually nerf long combo decks and push curvestone decks. Long combo decks are the only decks that play different on mobile than they do on computers just due to the amount of time they take to pull off the combo. I usually wind up roping when trying to win with miracle rogue or patron warrior and if I was trying to do this on my phone I probably would never be able to pull it off.A powerful deck that can only really be done on a computer isn't what Blizzard wants.
- Hearthstone is set up like a microtransaction mobile game. If 2 players start at the exact same time but one decides to drop $100 and the other is f2p the one who payed will win almost 100% of the time they play each other.
- Arena in my opinion is harder to play on a phone than casual or ranked on a phone and Blizzard has shown they really don't care about arena balance at all in the last few expansions.
- According to Blizzard themselves 75% of the player base is below rank 15. Anyone that even plays 2 or 3 ranked games a day can probably climb higher than that meaning probably around 50% of all players just play a game or two in casual probably at work or on the bus or something.
- Blizzard announced more expansions per year which also means more money per year in case you had forgotten they're a business.
- The Hearthstone FAQ section on their actual site has 20 questions, 12 of which are just about playing on a phone or tablet.
- Pro players, streamers, legend players and most high level players are not particularly fond of the last 2-3 metas and are souring on the game as a whole but profits are continuing to go up and Blizzard has been pumping out aggro curvestone every expansion for over a year now.
It isn't that Blizzard is trying to drive out good players or that they hate legend players but they are trying to make a phone game that maximizes player base and therefore profit. No one says candy crush is an e-sport but it made over $200,000,000 last year and any company that has the ability to make a successful phone game but doesn't tap into that market is just foolish. Unfortunately for us on this forum though top 10 in the app store and fun yet complex high level gameplay don't typically go hand in hand.

aleathas posted a message on Roping: the ultimate solution.Posted in: General DiscussionI advice everyone to rope the type of decks that are considered broken - pirates in this meta - by the majority. By that, everybody in the HS community will be unhappy instead of the ones, who are suffering because of their existence. Then, maybe Blizzard will care about your opinions for the meta.
The satisfaction that you get by slowing down those, who want to reach Legend as quickly as possible is better than creating whining threads about broken meta like every single day. So if you think the meta is broken, either stop playing ranked game or play like Lifecoach, your choice.

jim1608 posted a message on Jade Idol - NERFPosted in: Card DiscussionYes, uninteractive as fuck, and beats all other control decks by default as it doesn't care about anything but having the game prolonged.
Idol+Auctioneer is broken as far as I can tell, brings too many jades too fast to be healthy.
It even beats fatigue warrior. Stupid design, should be nerfed as in "summon a jade golem or put 3 jade scrolls on the deck", and have the jade scroll just summon a golem, not add more cards.

Chimera posted a message on Most boring meta in HS history?Posted in: General DiscussionThere is no meta. It's been one day, there's no way everyone has a total grasp on all the new cards and what the best decks are. There is a lot of deck building ahead of us. No need to over-react. If you think this is not fun, maybe you should stop playing and wait a couple of weeks.

My experience: Craft what you want to play and enjoy it!
If you craft any legendary and take it from a pack 1 month later... Man! you played that deck 1 month, thats good. Feel like you oppened another duplicate legendary. You will open only 1 legendary every 20 packs, so if you want 7 legendaries, man, CRAFT!! :D
PD: Post if you get a duplicate if you decide to craft :P

In the last patch, Blizzard add a option that if you write "new" in your search bar, you no need to pass all your collection to find the new cards.
Meaby that help you while no other option
