I didn't watch the video. Did they clarify if this boi can generate quests/sidequests?
Nothing can generate quests. Side quests might be generatable.
playable only because of the amount of deathrattle support priest has, even then I dont think its that good.
Big decks will have responses to it and small decks will just ignore it (the outcome wont be great)
The power of this card is kind of bonkers. Not sure why you would view it as 'not that good' honestly.
The vanilla outcome for this effect is a 3 mana 2/3 summon a 2/1 with Harvest Golem. A more relevant comparison would be Snip Snap at a 3 mana 2/3 summon two 1/1s. However, Snip also has the magnetic, echo, mech thing going for it. This card is already better off as a 3 mana 3/3, which is already unprecedented for 3 mana cards with deathrattle summons. As for it's deathrattle summon, it's almost certain to get better value than a 2/1 or two 1/1s. I'm finding it hard to imagine how this isn't at the very least 'good' if not better. I mean, hell. In many situations, this card becomes a 3 mana 3/3, deathrattle summon a 2/3 deathrattle summon two 1/1s on curve. That's kinda insane.
Against small decks, this card helps you catch up on the board since it replaces itself. Against big decks, this is the type of card that makes your opponent waste answers they'd otherwise rather save for other threats. It also seems generically useful enough that it'll fit into all but the very niche priest deck (ie: Resurrect priest).
It'll be interesting to see whose right about it though. I mean, there's been so many cards that look great on paper that end up not making the cut and I freely admit, I may be missing the mark on this one. I'm just having a hard time envisioning this not being at least playable.
Those are all good points, but I honestly don't see it as much more spectacular than the cards you mentioned.
You likely get a minion with good stats, in the late game possibly fantastic stats. But that's likely all you get: stats. Maybe you get to copy a minion with Reborn or a Deathrattle, but there are not too many of those around either.
To me, this feels like a card that is good on paper, but won't really fit in any deck, since it doesn't support any playstyle significantly, and doesn't have much support for itself. There is Shadowy Figure, maybe another one or two cards I can't currently remember, but most of Priest's Deathrattle theme is unimpressive and was never utilized. And while this card suggests to play more of a tempo-oriented Deathrattle deck, which could be a new direction for the class, I can't see it happen with this card alone.
So, it remains a card that is not "bad" in any way, but doesn't strike me as one that will see much if any play, at least for now. And I see cards, that I find no use for, as "not that good". It's not going to be the worst legendary in the set either, but it's not in the top 5, probably not even in the top 10 for me, even without all Galakronds.
It’s a ton of stats. You put it in every Priest deck and sometimes you draw it on 3, copy their 3-drop and just win the board with a ridiculous minion.
using my very limited knowledge of japanese and 10 minutes with a kanji dictionary I think the name means Child of Ruin.
Actual name is Scion of Ruin
scion - child/offspring of a wealthy family
so I was close enough.
This is insane, back in the day every dragon deck ran a 1/3 that discovered a dragon if u had a dragon in your hand. I don’t see how people are not rating this meta defining
This one costs 1.5 times more mana.
It's a little weird how similar this is to the Hunter discover dragon. It makes sense that it isn't as strong however since Paladin already has more dragon support and so its less of a stretch to make it work than it would be to make a Dragon Hunter work.
This card is so good you probably play it with resurrect stuff even though it’s bad with resurrection just because it’s worth it to low-roll your Psychopomps sometimes just to be able to play this on 3.
Not like Duskbreaker because the effect is slow and only hits your opponents. You play this when you already have the board to stop your opponent from taking it back, or you just play it on a losing board and get it back.
Won't see play. You need to be a dragon hunter to gain max value from it. Hunter has 2 class dragons and 0 neutral dragons that fit into what hunter wants to do.
hb Faerie Dragon?
its a worse Doomsayer for half the mana. Better than Doomsayer against small things and worse against big things. We've got a lot of big stuff and a lot of healing in the the game now so most of the time you probably won't run this over Doomsayer since the text on Doomsayer is just so much more powerful.
because 5 mana for Luna’s Pocket Galaxy was too much and it really needed a 5/4 body.
this is getting nerfed
