I feel like Varian is already so strong in standard control warrior you don't even really need to build a deck around him since at base his body is worth about 6.5 mana and you get a Nourish which is worth 5 so even if you don't draw a single minion you've already gotten 11.5 mana worth of stuff. Even if you pull out a Cruel Taskmaster or something its fine.
I think Varian conflicts with a lot of what CW wants to do. I play a lot of CW when I do play ranked and I have to say that in the current common lists, Varian would be awful. You don't want to waste Alexstrasza's effect, or miss out on most battlecries. That's why I put less of an emphasis on the reliance of those battlecries to get the reach to win games.
The fact that you're losing Alexstrasza's battlecry is pretty insignifigant when you consider the fact that you're getting whats essentially a 0 mana 8/8. If Alexstrasza is in your deck and you need her to win then just don't play Varian Wrynn until you draw her. Even if you DO draw her, she could have been up to 3 draws away where she wouldn't have been much use for up to 4 turns. If she's in your hand you're not going to lose the battlecry. The fact is, cards like Alexstrasza are just too good in control Warrior to not run them because of one card which may or may not nullify their effect.

I would just concede if the hunter gets Savage Combatant on me t-_-t
eh, its not THAT good. If they play it on 5 its just a Lost Tallstrider. It's probably one of the less good cards in the Best category.
But if you can't clear it, Hunter can attack for additional 2 dmg. And if turn 6 you have Garrison Commander in hand. You can deal 4 dmg from spell power and 4 hero attack (free Death's Bite).
I mean i think its weird that of all the Beast minions he would concede to he would concede to Savage Combatant rather than say, King Krush or Malorne. Its still definitely one of the better outcomes. (although i don't think Garrison Commander is good)
And Brawl and EqualityConsecrate now that i think about it. Ok, card is more vulnerable than i thought
Bring out Kel'Thuzad with the draw and people pull their hair out trying to deal with this outside of total guaranteed board clears. Not that you run Kel in control warrior but I'm hoping people make some silly decks based around getting insane value with this card.
Card is super solid, thats for sure. Even if you don't draw any minions its fine.
Think because of Justicar Trueheart and Garrison Commander you dont need 1 Armorsmith, Cruel Taskmaster and Shieldmaiden (at least for me and my taste) I will rather after Justicar play the garrison commander and get much more armour for the same cost, and next turn if it stays alive 4 mana 8 armour with belcher or shield slam the giant or any 8 health creature.
I don't think Garrison Commander is a very good card (probably not better than Armorsmith at least) and Nexus-Champion Saraad seems a bit too slow. Armorsmith is just able to get you a lot more armor early on and its high health means it can deal with aggressive minions better. Cruel Taskmaster is too important because of Acolyte of Pain and more importantly Grommash Hellscream. The 2nd brawl is a real consideration (which you aren't the first to mention ;))
Battlecry minions not that good with Varian. Try Sneeds, KelThuzad, Geddon, Deathwing(cause of stats) instead of Dr. Boom and Alexstrasza. Also think about to play deathrattle minions. Because everyone wants to play around Varian. So, everyone will get a lot of big AoEs like Twisting Nether, Lightbomb, ShadowFlame, Brawl. Because this card has a great overextend potential. :)
I feel like those minions are worse on their own. and the fact that you're missing out on battlecrys really isn't a big deal since you're getting those huge bodies for almost 0 mana. You're right about the aoe's though. I guess the strategy is you bait out the AOE before you play it.
Looks all very nice, but I wonder why add inBash? Aren't there better options like a second Brawl f.e.? Maybe I'm just underrating the card though ^^
Card is solid. I subbed out a Shield Block for it. Solid card against aggressive early game. You generally don't want your opponents early game to get so out of hand that you have to use more than 1 Brawl anyway. In a more control heavy meta however, Shield Block is better. Priests had a card like this in beta that got removed.

Card is super cool. The difference between this and boom is that you have to play control
Love this card. There needs to be OP OP incentives to play Control.
Otherwise everyone is going to be playing .

I mean the deck, not the card.

They can't do that! If they made animations faster then Grim Patron would be OP!

I would put Ironfur Grizzly in average because its 5 mana for 6/6 in stats and taunt. Slightly worse than that buuuut...
I wouldn't be surprised if this card didn't see play but i also wouldn't be surprised if it did.
Reminds me of a much more varied version of Tuskarr Totemic
Good job on this list!
