Peteravens05 posted a message on I hope Dragon Priest Dies to the Rotation (Drakonid Op is the reason)Posted in: Standard FormatI hope the rotation brings new decks and new idea but there is one deck I hope Dies off and i will piss on it ashes
The reason I hope it doesnt see anymore play is because Drakonid Operative is way too overpowered of a Card to keep playing because IF the format slows down (IF) then this card is a nightmare for all match ups, If youve ever played against Dragon Priest, this card on turn 5 is probably the most annoying thing to deal with if youre a midranged or control deck. Now i understand that priest has sucked for a long time and this card made dragon priest an actually good deck to play with, but i hope blizzard doesnt make the mistake in adding Dragons to UnGoro and makes Dragons still playable because i think its time for a new format to come that isnt plagued by this card.
There is something wrong when i have to build my Control decks very Greedy JUST to beat priest because Drakonid OP is that powerful.

Sugatang posted a message on The nerfs made Pirate Warrior stronger in WildPosted in: General DiscussionTL;DR - The nerfs destroyed Aggro Shaman, Pirate Warrior's only viable counter.
I am climbing the Wild ladder this month. I had an easy run to Rank 10 in the first couple days with a fun Yogg Mage, and with the new "safety net" there, I decided to play around with some interesting decks. I soon discovered that I was facing at least 50% Pirate Warriors, and I was losing with everything. I began creating decks that had every anti-Pirate tech I could think of - Reno decks, double Sludge Belchers, double Deathlords, double Antique Healbots, double Doomsayers, etc. Unless I drew the nuts, I kept losing.
So I switched to Pirate Warrior myself to see what it struggles against. Basically, nothing. I ran up to Rank 6 in little over an hour (before I had to leave for work this morning), and crushed everything other than the mirror, which is just a "who draws better" contest. And it dawned on me - Shaman's loss of the Pirate Package and the underrated ping effect of Spirit Claws destroys that class's early game. Aggro Shaman was the best counter to Pirate Warrior, and without it, Pirate Warrior does not have a consistently bad matchup.
I have maintained all along that Patches has been the problem. For games designed to end in five turns, a free 1/1 tribal charger is obscene. Compare with Alleycat, a great card in a vacuum that can never compete with Southsea Deckhand, Small-Time Buccaneer (post-nerf), or N'Zoth's First Mate because of Patches. That's a shame because it essentially eliminates Hunter from Wild. And Patches will never leave Wild.
The reason the deck is so good is the consistency. You have six exceptional turn 1 cards (two copies of each in the last paragraph), and they are only exceptional because of Patches. Aggro Shaman used to have six itself but has lost four of them - double Tunnel Trogg is all that's left. That's not consistent. Anti-aggro techs are also inconsistent; how often can you expect to draw Mortal Coil, Doomsayer, Demonwrath and Reno Jackson? Sure it's great when you do, but over the long haul the odds are against you. I faced one Renolock back-to-back this morning and won both games by turn 5; in one he coined Antique Healbot, the other he coined Kazakus and pulled a dream 1-mana spell (+4 Armor, resummon Second-Rate Bruiser). No matter. Drawing Reno Jackson 50% of the time by turn 6 is irrelevant if you don't get there.
My suspicions were confirmed when I checked Vicious Syndicate's February report. Yes it's Standard, but Pirate Warrior had exactly two bad matchups - Aggro Shaman and Control Warrior. I tried Control Warrior a lot last month in Wild, and it gets blasted by Kazakus and can still get overrun by Ship's Cannon even in the "good" matchup. In other words, Control Warrior is poor in Wild and Aggro Shaman is dead, leaving Pirate Warrior uncounterable by any reasonable deck.
Finally, this is not a salt thread, as I'm still riding a big win streak. But I hate playing Pirate Warrior as much as I hate playing against it, and I think nerfing Patches by firing the cannon into your hand would probably solve the problem. I don't know what Un'Goro could bring to fix Wild that wouldn't constitute disgusting power creep. I hope I'm wrong.

jainaishot posted a message on The glorification of stupidity the real ''cancer'' of the game and it might kill it in the long run.Posted in: General DiscussionHello there beautiful people,as i had some days off i played as much as i could to reach at least rank 5.The goal was achieved yesterday and while i had a couple of hours to continue to reach once more the legend rank ,i couldn't bring my self to play a single extra ranked game.So i thought how did this game become so unfun? Is it because of pirates? Is it because of aggro? After a couple of beers with my friends(we were gaming together since kids/the glorious wow days :3) we reached to the obvious conclusion we already knew. The game has become unfun because it became TOO simple.
Let's just think about it,the strong points of hearthstone when it was released: One was the beloved wow lore and two that it was easy to learn hard to master. It didn't have the complexity of other ccgs but it was rewarding to master a deck. However for a long time now has become a coin flip and it's not aggro's fault. Before the pirates, was midrange shaman, before that was combo druid(was ok at release but became broken with sticky minions) and secret pala, before that was undertaker hunter and so on.What all those deck have in common is that they are/were too easy for their effectiveness not their archetype,
The simplification of the game doesn't stop to the ''cancer'' decks but all archetypes have been simplified to an appaling degree.Control decks like jade decks just spamm jades, aggro decks either fload the board or they point face and even non braindead decks like miracle rogue ,renolock and renomage are a mere shadow of handlock, freeze mage and old miracle/oil rogue,Everything in the game has been simplified so it can become pleb friendly. For a game to be inviting to casual players is good but to punish the invested players for commercial purposes is bad. What is mindblowing is that the vanilla hearthstone had more depth than now. With the addition of new cards it became simpler and simpler because of design choices, the forced deckbuilting etc,
For a long time now the difference between a scrub and pro when both are playing tier 1 ''cancer''is a mere 15% at best winratio. This is bad for the future of the game. Why?You might ask.Well that's because the plebs are plebs and they just follow the trend. When a game loses it's character for the sake of populairity it loses what it made it interesting in the first place. Then the old/hardcore players search for a new one.As a result a new game becomes the trend, the plebs follow the new trend and so on.
Since i know some of you won't bother read the entire text wall i will summarize here
A game becomes too simple to satisfy the plebs->invested players are pissed->invested players look for a new game->
a new game becomes popular->the plebs follow the trend->after a time the old game dies.
Ok ok i know since it's a blizzard's game it will propably never trully die because of fanboys but it will become a shadow of what is now.
That's it!Props to anyone who bother to read it!What do you guys think?

Blizzard tired of dragon priest, so they're pushing deathrattle priest with OP cards.
Seems legit :P

Why would you even want to dust reno and thaurissan?
They enable so many decks that it make no sense to dust them.
