    I'd really love to see priest cards that play with HP a lot more. I've been brewing an idea of something that lowers that max stat  of your enemies as a battlecry or in a cheap AoE. Definitely need more affordable buffs, though.

    Awesome. It's really important to get a handle on the early game. The taunt really helps. If you have Crazed Alchemist or Sunfury Protector, they may help you out as well. I'm still tryin'. This deck isn't set in stone, so tell me what works. I'm up to 14 with it, from 20. Warrior can be fenangled if you steal the right cards. Zoo is still a problem. trading up for 2 mana is just too efficient for priest.

    posted a message on Certain classic Priests cards have a lot of synergy.

    I've been giving Inner Fire a go in my priest deck. A lot of the time, it acts like removal. Reverse cold-blooding is pretty OpieOP. Divine Spirit is pretty interesting as well. I think classic cards would be used more if there were more high health stats in early game cards that didn't suck. Meh.

    I'm not really a fan of the "what-if"s that people throw out, because they just want to change things completely. The  only way I'd see to play the original card is if they added "and give it 2 health" at the end. No other rewording or whatever can justify its use.

     Yeah, as I explained in a post above, I find it really useful for preserving my own  minions on board. Turning a 7/2 into a 2/2 means the Violet Teacher or Azure Drake remains on board. It's definitely not used as an OTK mechanic, but can turn up the heat or put the fire out on your terms. :)

     Thats is what he is trying to change in priest, adding a second entomb and the COH combo will make it another control priest deck with violet teacher as a replacement for late game cards like sylvanas and ragnaros.
     Certainly. I'm trying to make a mid-range style deck. One Entomb is there to kick out Sylvanas Windrunner to stay ahead on board. If you're smart with your Northshire Clerics, you can possibly draw her up again, plus the burst you need to finish the job before the deep late game.

     Thank you for your reply. Believe it or not, Silence hasn't been a dead card for me. It's a free token when Violet Teacher is out, plus it throws a wrench in the works of sticky minions. Vs Hunter, I wouldn't keep it in my opener, so using it on a Fiery Bat is out of the question. More like Savanah Highmane backed with Shadow Word: Death to clear it out. Other instances are denying the coin from Tomb Pillager (I literally lost a game once because the Rogue took tempo back from having that 1 extra mana. Another game where I silenced it, she got shut down on top-decks. Couldn't combo). I honestly tried Circle of Healing, but it was a dead card 90% of the time. 
    I think we're looking at Divine Spirit in different ways. My gameplan with it is to be a proactive card. Sticking it on one of the 4-drops allows it to trade up immensely. Put it on the Violet Teacher, and suddenly she becomes a lot harder to remove (think about how successful Klaxxi Amber-Weaver has been with C'Thun druid)!
    Also, I'd to mention that I tend to use inner fire offensively a lot; you can stick it on a pesky 4-attack minion to make it removable by SW: Pain or Death (think of it like a slam-execute combo), or stick it on a low-hp enemy to save your own minion from dying in a trade.

    Thanks for the positive words. I'm thinking hard about it, and I might just give that variation a whirl. It's not too big of a change, and might make a difference in the long haul. I'll come back with my findings. The only thing I don't like is the EE, which doesn't really jive with the Violet Teachers. It would literally be a dead draw if I'm ahead on board, but want to maintain it.

    I honestly hate Yogg-Saron, Hope's End because people are (ironically) placing so much hope on him and it's working!  He's very much a necessary evil at this point, if you're going so heavy into spells. Personally, I like the idea of The Curator leading into Alextrasza (for the Life-Binder!) or Malygos as your targets for fetching. Justicar Trueheart is a good tech card if you're running into a lot of control, but she's too slow to keep you in the game vs aggro (mostly you die by turn 8 anyway). I like that you're thinking outside the box a bit. Any thoughts on Gadgetzan Auctioneer as a draw engine? Could he be fenangled to work in Priest?

    Hey, everyone.

    I've been playing HS since a bit before TGT and have been enjoying the content a lot until recently. I've gravitated toward Rogue as my favourite class, but I had began to warm up to Priest when Trump did his GvG F2P run with the class. I started to understand the strengths and weakness in the world with sticky minions and Dr. 7 every which way we turn. Now, we're in a different environment. Lots of fast decks, and combo-y, mid-rangy style decks born from a limited card pool. Unfortunately, the priest decks haven't changed much before standard and after. People just slapped Excavated Evil in place of Lightbomb and that was that. Unfortunately, we still see this deck really hit or really miss, depending on the reactive draws.

    The point of this post: I've been exploring a more proactive priest, despite the feeble and janky tools give to the class. I'm interested in some thoughts. The hardest matchup right now is zoolock (turns 1-3 is basically 15 damage to the face every game), but I've been able to outplay Token Druid and various warrior decks (except Worgen Combo Warrior). Thoughts?

    posted a message on We've discussed a lot about Priest. Have we forgotten about Paladin?

    I feel like Paly is in an okay spot right now. I'm really impressed with the fact that people were able to forge a control deck out of the class that I didn't think possible. Turns out the Equality + Wild Pyromancer combo works as intended, 4 instances of "follow the rules!" shuts down bomb plays and two Tirion Fordrings is a pretty big deal. Look, everyone is struggling with aggressive decks now. Even aggro struggles with aggro. Paly has a lot of cheaper tools to cut a swath through the hordes. People are up in arms about Priest because premium removal starts at 5 mana, and spot removal is conditional.

    I think that this was beautifully written. You're leading off with some positive ideas that seem to actually synergise! That's Priest's big problem right now: there is no class synergy. I think my favourite has to be the two drop that gives you a Power Word: Shield. Honourable mention to the "Word" tutor. It's strong in the early game, and weak in the late, but helps fetch those conditional cards from the bottom of your deck. I kind of like the idea of a more midrange-style priest, that's not necessarily a dragon deck. I don't think Priest has a pony in the control race right now. Especially with C'Thun Warrior still on the prowl. I still get nightmares over 20 armour gain in one turn.
