HOW IS EVERYONE WHO HAS REPLIED MISSED THE POINT BY SO MUCH?!?!?!?!

OP is NOT saying that Hunter needs to have healing/armor mechanics. It is that the other classes have been given way way too much versatile tools to put their class out of killing blow that Hunter previously are able to slowly do WITHOUT giving any use-able counter tools to the Hunter class to balance things up.

The situation is so bad right now with Witchwood that it is almost basically an auto concede for Hunter when matched against a Druid, compared to say 1-2 years back. (don't be the technical truculent; not saying 100% auto loss but the win loss ratio against Druid now is absolutely atrocious)

Secondly, the other important point is that most Hearthstone players have not realized: class identity protection is such a BS joke as it is ONLY applied to limit Hunters but all the other classes have free reign and is currently diluted to heck. Think about it, blizzard/everyone keeps saying that Hunter cannot be given healing/armor/draw mechanics because Hunter's identity is to go face/smorc yet there's new additional identity attribute now given to:

    1. Mage - new super healing mechanic via Frost Lich Jaina & armorning up Arcane Artificer
    2. Druid - super armoring up that now rivals Warrior class of the past & resurrect ability (Hadronox)
    3. Warlock - super healing mechanicS & resurrect ability (Bloodreaver Gul'dan)

** resurrect ability previously, mostly exclusive and identified to Priest class

I totally hear you. I came here frustrated that I couldn't build a decent hunter deck and I had been brewing the following thoughts for a while. The "class identity" thing is an excuse for Team 5 to say that they don't like certain classes being strong at any certain time. In effect, the classes are not like MtG colours (having glaring weaknesses individually, but strong when combined) but more like personalities that have different ways of approaching the same problem. There is a way to have board clears with Hunter that's hunter-ish. There's a way to have card draw in that sense as well. They really need to look harder at their design ideas. Also, hunter--a class that needs the board the most--has the worst recruit mechanics. The strongest classes right now do that very well and have tools that sustain that board control and as well their life totals. These things need to be universal. Otherwise, the classes like hunter aren't even playing the same game.

Great deck! It currently struggles against the aggro paly that abuses call to arms and Divine favour. Any tips for dealing with it?

Thalnos is too important to cut still. Getting one card closer to your burst is too important. Both spell damage and cycle are what make Rogue's combo cards continue to work.

You can't have the cold blood package and the giants at the same time. There's no room in the deck whatsoever for both. The giants thing is relatively new, ever since conceal was move to the Hall of Fame.  Because divine shield requires your opponent to deal two sources of damage, I feel that it's almost as good as conceal and thus brings a bit of new life into the archetype. Also, the spell damage is a must in rogue; hence Tainted Zealot over Argent Squire. Having razor petals do 2 damage instead of 1 is huge. Or fan of knives being a 5 mana consecrate + cycle.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. In any case, nothing pleases me more than a razor petal doing 2 or 3 damage. Or a fan of knives cleaning house.

Hey, everyone. I haven't posted in a while but I'd been discussing with others a little bit about some of the more subtle tools that KFC brings to the table, and I feel that Tainted Zealot offers something for the rogue class. Ever since the rotation of Azure Drake, I found that relying on Thalnos for that extra push of magic damage made things really tenuous. We're still seeing a surge of board-heavy decks early on, so I think that it's more important than ever. Here's a list that I've put together. I chose the cold-blood variance over the Giants for a couple of reasons: cold blood works with the Zealot because she has Divine Shield, thus sticks to the board better with the buff.

There are many other cards I'd love to try in the deck.  Prince Valanar (though, I don't have a copy of him on either NA or EU), and perhaps find a place for mimic pod. I'm a bit skeptical about the Doomerang+ Shadowblade combo. Shadowblade is good, though. Maybe cut SI:7s for it? There's also the question of playing a more all-in style with questing adventurers. I'd love to hear your opinions. This list is no way set in stone. If you want to add more moving parts, try and justify why and how. Thanks!

I think swapping with the Roc is not a bad idea. It's a good tech card for going against control. The Roc is helpful for dealing with aggro. Good luck with the deck!

I think that these are very fair criticisms. It feels a lot like a budget build (with Xaril beeing a boon draw from a WoG pack). I would definitely swap out cold blood for coin, or cut the giants and go Leeroy and a "haHAA". I feel that the coins are a much stronger card for the reason you point out above. I'd definitely cut only one Sap for Edwin. Perhaps a Hallucination for Sherazin. Those feel like the more flexible card slots. Sap did indeed lose its potency because the metagame is focused on flooding the board instead of playing big dudes. Maybe you could ditch the second sap for Thalnos. 2 damage fans are preeeeety good. Despite the clunkiness in the deck choices, I give my congrats to the pilot for taking the deck all the way. That requires some patience and knowing your risks and your outs. I think people experimenting with lists like this is a good exercise.

Definitely, I agree. Maybe he made this deck on a budget and opened a Xaril at some point (Love his inclusion, btw). In my opinion, I think you could get away with replacing one sap for Edwin VanCleef. Sap is an amazing card, but I feel like I'm never out of removal options in rogue, especially with the Vilespines. Decks aren't running as many big bombs either. If you draw sap, save it for lifting a taunt when you're winding up for your finisher. All in all, I agree that this deck needs Edwin. There is so much synergy for him, even without the coins.

posted a message on Rogue is sooooo much fun right now

I have been having a blast with miracle rogue. Razorpetal Lasher and Vilespine Slayer are far and away amazing cards. The former is almost like a mini SI:7 in a pinch, and the animation of the leaf ping is so satisfying.

Updates? Still no? How many people logged into another region before NA? I went on EU first and got my reward, but nothing for NA. Last year they gave the prize to all regions. Are they selling us short this time?

Got my 3 packs on EU (Thank you, DocPwn!) but not NA yet. Hmm. Seems like they didn't roll out NA first for once.

posted a message on Would you rather see new weapons or weapon buffs released?

As it stands when I write this, it's 50% favoured to new weapons, but the comments thus far are pro-buff. Could any of the voters for "new weapons" comment?  Why do you think that helps a class that already has a weapon for a hero power?

    Quote from CakeHS >>

Thanks for the feedback guys. I tried to capture the feel of the old handlock as much as possible in this deck, but I suppose trying to make remake it fresh and adapted to the new meta would be a better idea than just trying to make it feel like old handlock. I've only played it in casual so far because I don't want to plummet in ranks but with the new update coming soon I'llbe able to test it in real ranked games without worrying about ranks.

You have to distill the idea of handlock to its core: cheating out big dudes because you have a large hand. Card-for-card, you can't do that anymore, but you can focus on the four key cards of the style: Mountain Giant and Twighlight Drake. The next question is, what tools do I need to be able to play those cards? Mixtress is amazing because she lets you tap for free sometimes. Good ol' Watcher + taunt also helps you a lot. The next thing to ask yourself is if there are any new cool tools that help this archetype out? Faceless shambler helps you cheat out big dudes for 4 mana. Works really well with buffs too. Since its a control style deck, you have to build it planning for what your opponent does. You got this! Your list has some interesting pieces already. The big problem is that it's a big budget deck.

Here's my take on it. Definitely needs a bit of early game to keep pace. On the bottom rungs of wild there seem to be a lot of greedy decks. I was running double Mixtress and Sludge and Shadowflame. You definitely have to adjust a bit depending on trends. More aggro, cut the combo. More control, cut the early game. GLHF

ETA: There's a good argument for trying to fit two shadowflames. It's amazing in combination with Ancient Watcher.
