I wish they'd put more effort into balance and keeping the game frequently updated to react to meta changes instead of wasting so much time and resources on this nonsense.

UndeadRebel13 posted a message on Arthas is Your Lich King! Knights of the Frozen Throne Missions Information RoundupPosted in: NewsNot sure if anyone else has sen this yet, but all of the art and costs for the boss hero powers are actually on the expansion site as extra assets that aren't displayed anywhere on the site yet. I found this when I was looking for the Geist art on the site, it's the only asset image with anything useful about the expansion on it as far as I could tell.
The rune one with no cost is likely Saurfang, the 2 mana one with the teeth is Lana'thel, the no-cost potion one is Putricide, the 2 Mana Frostmourne is Arthas, the 0-cost one with the greenish hand is Deathwhisper, the blue claw with no cost is Sindragosa, and the last one (not sure exactly what I would call that) that costs 0 is Marrowgar. That means that only two of the bosses (Arthas and Lana'thel) have traditional 2-cost powers, the other 5 have either autocasts or passive hero powers. -

Haussenfuss posted a message on Un'Goro Q&A with Ben Brode and Mike DonaisPosted in: NewsEven when expansion is as successful as Un'Goro has been, they still find it necessary to blatantly lie.
Quests have obviously failed. Only 2 of them are prominent and one is about to be nerfed. Meanwhile the rest are virtually unplayable. Either they are lying about being happy how the quests have played out or they had really low expectations for them. Either way, it's bad.
And we all know those vanilla minions in every expansion are there purely as fillers. Just because a few of them tend to appear in constructed by some accident doesn't mean that they actually have a bigger purpose. They fill your collection and limit your chances of actually getting useful cards from packs so it means you need more packs. So that's another lie.
Blizz, STOP LYING TO US!
Calm down.Since the beta, the devs have consistently made as many cards for Johnny and Timmy as they do for Spike - only about a third of the cards released in any set have ever seen competitive play on ladder. Pretending otherwise is "lazy and stupid" - to turn one of the most tired community complaints on its head. Three quests see regular play - Quest Priest and Wild are both "a thing" - and Quest Mage has seen spikes of play, including at high-level Legend, and in tournament play, since the set dropped. There is every reason to think that other quests will become viable in both Standard and Wild as new sets are released. You know all of this, but couldn't care less, and find more value in aimlessly shitting about problems that don't exist. If I'm wrong, and you have to seek therapy to recover from the trauma of never playing a competitive Quest Hunter deck - I extend my apologies, and wish you every success on your road to recovery. -

Hurien posted a message on Expansion Creation Competition - [Phase I Submission]Set in the remnants of a devastated Draenor, Outland, this expansion follows the adventures of expert businessman and engineer Boom Jr., who didn't follow in his father's footsteps and set out to explore and colonize this unhospitable world. He will meet the remnants of the Burning Legion, setting entire forests ablaze as they battle the few Illidari left to confront them. The enigmatic Netherwing will prove to be a reliable ally, along with the ethereals... if you can spare the coin. However, not everything is the same as it was when his father lived. The arcane energies that sweep through the floating isles have granted new abilities to their inhabitants, allowing some of them to shift through space and tear the fabric of the universe, unleashed in a moment's notice. Who will our young entrepreneur meet in his travels through Hellfire, Terokkar, Netherstorm... and beyond?
New mechanic: Unleash (X)
Arcane energies flowing from the Twisting Nether have imbued some of the beasts and humanoids of Outland, granting them the power to appear in a moment's notice when needed. Spells can also be cast through the tears in time and space, surprising enemies and allies alike. This new mechanic allows some cards to be played automatically on your opponent's turn when a friendly character is damaged, if you have some mana available. If you are holding more than one unleash card, the most expensive you can afford will be played first. If there is any mana remaining, the next more expensive card will be played, and so on. The mechanic's tooltip is shown below:
Demons
Outland is overflowing with demons, so a lot of them will appear in this expansion. Many more neutral demons, and class cards related to them for Warlock, Rogue and Warrior, will be released. Some of these minions will feature a brand new type of synergy, or, shall I say... anti-synergy? Demons generally despise other creatures, so texts like "Battlecry: Deal 2 damage to a friendly non-Demon minion" will not feel out of place on them, in exchange for more powerful effects or stats.
Dragons
The Netherwing bring new dragons to the table with exciting new synergies to explore. Magic-based as they are, these dragons will grant you Spell Power or more spells, rather than pure brawn, when holding other members of their species. No more Priest dragons, though maybe we will see some in the Mage's arsenal...
Arcane powers
The landscape is brimming with magic in Outland. So much so, that classes more traditionally focused on minions, like Hunters, will now get support for spell based strategies. Deterministic spell generation will feature heavily in this expansion, granting heroes new tools with which to battle each other
And much more to discover!

NecroaV posted a message on Expansion Creation Competition - [Phase I Submission]Posted in: Fan CreationsHelo people of the Hearthstone community, I, NecroaV, will be showcasing my idea for an expansion.
The Dream's Nightmare
The Emerald Dream needs the heroes again! The Emerald Nightmare is taking over again and you the heroes have to see what happens during this expansion! Portals to the realm of the Dream and Nightmare are open up. Join the battle!
Firstly I shall show you the two new Keywords that shall be added into this set!
This expansion shall introduce these keywords and a new mechanic called "State". The states can only be between Dream and Nightmare, which have their own benefit when playing cards like it! When Keywords are on a minion are usually going to be some sort of battlecry but when it's on a spell, it will be just an additional effect! The states bring in a new and greater strategic gameplay which makes players carefully think of how to play in future rounds and getting the benefits!
Next thing I shall show you are the new special tokens called "Nightmare Cards" which are closely related to "Dream Cards"! There will be a total of 5 Nightmare Cards, two of which are already existing and they are Dream and Nightmare or it could be changed in the future.
NEW CARDS!
So here are the cards! Easy to understand and nothing to worry about! Cards I have shown give the new aspect of control again, making the game slow down even more, but at the same time it speeds it up! I will be pushing Synergies like Dragon Druid and Dragon Priest with the two new cards shown above and even make a new deck type similiar to C'thun but based of Nightmare cards and Dreamcards!

Gloom posted a message on Twitch Prime Members to Receive Free Hearthstone Loot, SoonPosted in: NewsI'm pretty sure the method might still be working. Long after the Tyrande promotion, I've been buying Amazon Coins on my US Amazon account while using my Polish credit card info. Everything went smoothly, no bans or anything. Bought them on the Amazon App tho, as some tutorials suggested it's really important to do that via the App, instead of the actual website. Guess we'll see when the promo arrives. :v

PRKSlayer posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 5.20 - Submission TopicCaptain Keelhaul is a card that is meant to synergize with all the bounce effects Rogue has, yet is purposely set at 3 mana so as not to be an op inclusion in Quest Rogue (along with it being a Legendary minion). If a Pirate centred Rogue deck were to ever emerge, this would be a great centre piece of the deck and would combo very well with Southsea Captain.

Shield Slam is pretty much an Execute since 4 armor per turn is hard to keep down outside of aggressive decks and most aggressive minions have 4 or so health. Also makes Reckless Flurry much stronger since it is more almost always a 4 damage aoe.
On top of that i see this more so in a deck like quest warrior to help survive early on while you complete the quest at which point you hopefully don't need the armor anymore and can take the offensive with DIE, INSECT!. Throw in Azalina Soulthief to refill your hand with tons of value and it seems like something is there to me. Of course we have to wait and see but if warrior gets some decent taunt minions in the odd mana slots I think some is there.

Aggro either loses or wins by turn 7 so i doubt this sees play in there.
However there is something no one has mentioned yet that might make this insane in slower decks...
You get to SEE what your opponent has that in itself is extremely powerful (look at MTG and cards like thoughtseize which offers alot of power from you simply knowing what the opponent has). On top of that you also get their hand which is kind of like an Un'Goro Pack but way better since you're getting cards your opponent put in their deck. I think if control warlock remains relevant or any other control deck comes to top tier we're gonna see alot of Azalina Soulthief to help grind them out (Imagine your opponent plays Rin and goes through casting several of the seals and then you play this and only have to go through 1-2 before get azari). Also this would would be seen in a quest warrior to help refill your hand after you get the quest done which is something quest warrior always struggled with or simply a control warrior tool after you exhaust your hand.
TL:DR Knowing what your opponent has is nuts, the value is insane from this card, and I think if there are control decks trying to be greedy this is a must have in those decks.

First thoughts are that this punches right through Tar Creeper and leaves a 2/2 on the board which quite nice. The body itself isn't amazing but 5 attack is that special number that might make it usable like a Jade Lightning. However warrior needs a good early drop that can be followed up by this to gain board control.

For reference Sylvanas Windrunner . This card although slow (its a 5/5 for 5 mana that does nothing) can be a very powerful card in the right deck as it offers 2 deathrattles and a looming threat in summoning Sylvanas Windrunner back on any turn. However it still can be countered through silence or transform effects.
The card shows off the transformation of Sylvanas from when she was alive to when she was slain at the hands of Arthas (later known as The Lich King ) then resurrected to serve him in undeath.

My guess is those posts were teasers for the teasers of the announcement that's going to announce the next expansion. (and yes I just wanted this to be as brain warping as it sounds)

I don't know if you use it but HSreplay is a great way to help improve yourself as you can see what cards remain in your deck while in a game, look at decks other people are playing, and can share replays with people like us so we can tell you misplays done on your part. It also shows you which classes are doing good right now which Shaman currently isn't so if you can switch to another class like warlock, priest, or paladin all of which have very powerful decks right now.
Other than that its simply knowing whats popular and building a deck to beat those decks (or playing net decks). Its different since you have a smaller collection but you should still be able to find decks that are cheap but powerful. Aggro decks like Murloc Pally and Zoolock are both relatively cheap and the legendaries in those decks are insanely powerful and used almost across every deck of their respective classes so it's safe to craft them. (Namely Bloodreaver Gul'dan and Sunkeeper Tarim)

Control Paladin has lacked a good win condition for some time now so i figured why not give them a bone? Most of the time you're going to be shooting for Tirion Fordring but if need be it can summon another card like Wickerflame Burnbristle .

Right now I’m expecting these nerfs
Dark pact- The healing no on top of usually insane plays of summoning a void lord is just to much like the article said 2 mana or maybe a reduce in healing would bring it in line
Corridor Creeper- I’m gonna say this will go to maybe 9-10 mana making it much harder to get out early on while hopefully remaining playable.
Raza the Chained- Now this probably won’t happen but with shadowreaper running around it’s simply to strong a deck and in wild escpecially with Reno I don’t think any deck will be able to beat it.
