posted a message on (poll)So with Piloted Shredder gone, who's going to be the 4-drop of Standard?

Ideally, "go-to" cards will no longer be a thing.

Realistically, I suspect Shredder will be replaced by something OP from the new expansion.

Even if all the perfect OP curve cards are replaced with cards that are merely reasonable, secret Paladin will still be a good deck.

posted a message on Fireguard Destroyer and Shaman Agro

I feel like these people saying "just go face" haven't actually piloted an aggro Shaman deck.

True, you often go face, but not mindlessly so. If you play it like face Hunter, your record is going to suffer.

That said, Fireguard Destroyer is too slow. Plus, comparing it to a card with a completely different mana cost (especially one without Overload) makes no sense at all. Curve is super important in an aggressive deck -- there is very little wiggle room.

posted a message on Can someone explain to me why Zoolock is a tier 1 deck?
    Quote from Cman222 >>

You are probably right on the midranged zoolock. I can't afford boom, malganis, giants so naturally I'm playing the aggro version.

I'm not trying to be mean, but if you don't have the most important cards for a deck and are playing a budget version, you are always going to struggle for wins. This is true not just for zoo, but for every archetype.
In other words, you can't blame the deck if you aren't actually playing that deck.

posted a message on Is there any reason NOT to dust a gold Argent Watchman?
    Quote from TEXACO_US >>

Only reason to not dust a gold card is if it is a good legendary. Say you get a golden Dr. Boom. There would be no point to dust it bc if you did dust it you would have 1600 dust from the golden. It takes 1600 to craft a normal Dr. Boom so you'd really just be trading a gold Dr. Boom for a normal one. If it is a bad golden legendary or any other golden card you will want to dust it.

You can dust a golden Dr. Boom if you're not going to participate in the Wild format. You will be much better served by a Classic legendary, or a legendary from the upcoming expansion.
The advice against crafting any cards right now is solid. Save your dust for another month or two.

posted a message on Reno Control Warrior with CHO

Cho may work against inexperienced players who freak out because they don't understand what a double-edged sword he is. Against better players, he fits better into a deck with relatively few spells.

But Warriors use a LOT of spells and need them to maintain control and tempo, and this deck is no exception.

They had a policy of full dust disenchant and they are breaking it now.
Any decrease in value is purely in your own perception. Nothing has changed your ability to use those cards. NOTHING.
Nothing except the format in which they can be used. Which is like the difference between eating dinner in a restaurant or down a shit-filled sewer.
"B-b-ut the food hasn't changed AT ALL!"
The format in which your old cards can be used has not changed at all. They are adding a new format, not changing the old one.
Superficially, Wild now has a name, which it did not before, but functionally it will not change.

posted a message on Is it just me, or is there really no more skill or strategy to this game?

When I see someone complaining about how hard it is to beat every deck archetype that is popular in the meta, it leads me to a certain conclusion, and that conclusion has nothing to do with the interactivity of Hearthstone.

    Quote from Hearthandblue >>

As a F2p player with a limited gold budget for packs I like what Brode did. If I bought 20 or so GvG packs and then all the cards were unusable in the main competitive mode I'd be quite frustrated.

There is no "main competitive mode." The two modes are equally competitive; ranked play works exactly the same.
Yes, Standard will be the mode used for professional competitions, but that is irrelevant unless you are a professional. And literally NONE of the professional players see it as a bad thing.

posted a message on Diablo III - Should I give it another try?

Why not just figure it out for yourself? If you already own the game, you have nothing to lose.

My advice would be to start a Seasonal character and play primarily in Adventure mode. If you've already completed the story, it's not going to be much fun for you to go through all that again.

But working through the Seasonal Chapters and achievements is pretty satisfying for a lot of people. It's definitely worth a shot.

Your previous purchase was always worthless, in that it was never worth any money. You cannot buy, sell, or trade HS cards and never could. (And in a sense, all cards are "rented" in that they will disappear at some point in the distant future when Hearthstone no longer exists.)
Any decrease in value is purely in your own perception. Nothing has changed your ability to use those cards. NOTHING.
The full-dust policy has not changed. It has always applied to individual cards that are altered for balance purposes. And it will still be in effect for Classic cards that are altered when Standard format is added.
Note that I said "when Standard is added" --  because nothing, absolutely nothing, is being taken away from the game. If you think you have lost something because some of your cards can now do an EXTRA thing that your other cards cannot, you are experiencing a perceptual fallacy. Your GvG and Naxx cards haven't lost value; it's your other cards that have gained value (temporarily, until they rotate out).

posted a message on Doubt about Streamers
    Quote from davidwizard >>
    Quote from huertgenwald >>

Yes, some streamers do delay their stream by several minutes to avoid sniping as best as they can.

How does that work for chat? Or do they just skip chat entirely?
It makes it impossible for them to interact with chat, which is why they only do it when they feel the game is important, like if they are 10-2 in Arena or something.
A lot of times, they will just let people snipe, either because they don't care that much about winning or because they are confident in their own ability. Especially at high levels of constructed play, both players can often infer what's in the opponent's deck and hand anyway, so sniping doesn't grant that much of an advantage.

who are the best arena streamers to learn from right now? I used to watch trump a lot but he's not that good anymore in arena

Blizzard recently looked at the stats and proclaimed Merps the top arena player in the land. He streams with adwcta on adwcta's channel in co-op runs, where they discuss all of their draft picks and plays. They also do a podcast together talking about all kinds of arena-related stuff.

posted a message on First Time Crafting a Legend - Should I Wait?

Not only should you wait, you should also stop doing things that earn dust (other than Brawl).

Unless you are still lacking important Classic rares or commons, you should not spend one single gold between now and the expansion.

posted a message on BM is a Problem - Should Blizzard implement a way to report/punish players?

Battle.net has a way to report players. I encourage you to start doing it every time you are butthurt by your opponent playing a few extra cards.

Maybe the GM who answers your report can explain to you what actually qualifies as harassment.
