posted a message on Is HS fame slowly decaying?

So before I go to explain my point, I did some analysing with some other TCG games and the results may help explain why Hearthstone may be the way it is: (Click spoiler to see graph) If you want my brief opinion, just head to the last paragraph.

Now I have chosen some different card games and yes I know some of you may complain how I haven't add that other TCG you like to play. However that said, the results to me are interesting for a number of reasons.

Firstly, you could look at this and say Magic is better than Hearthstone. True it shows that Magic does have a lot of interest, which is normal because the game has been around for many years. But I have noticed that when an expansion (or major changes) comes out , 'peaks' start to form. Now with Magic the 'peaks' are not that high, however for Hearthstone, they are very high. Look at that centre peak, that was when Old Gods was released. In one week, it lost a lot interest from people and it would be in one month's time, people has less interest in the game than before the expansion was released. To me that worrying because not only because it was the time the format changed to have Standard and Wild, but this was the very first expansion to start that new trend.

Secondly, you will also noticed that some of the other games on this list have 'peaks' too (announcements, releases, expansions etc.) . But even though a lot of these games have seen some interest, they now have become less talked about. Now we know that Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon have some backing (cartoons as well as other games), but this hasn't helped them to stay competitive to Hearthstone. However they all have shown that some people are still interested, even if it's by a minority. However that's when I get to the second point, Hearthstone is heading to that similar line. So this trend keeps up, it could fade away maybe in the next year or two.

So if I was ask: 'Is Hearthstone decaying?' I would answer like this:

I think the cracks are starting to show in this game. However even though there are some problems in the game I can think of a few ways to keep Hearthstone's interest up. Firstly, Hearthstone has a Tavern Brawl each week. I would make that last all week and I would recommend having newer brawls more often to keep interest for casual players high. Secondly, Hearthstone has the ability to change cards very quickly. If something is broken, fix it quick or if a card shows that it's too powerful, ban it or place it into the Hall of Fame, as this will help to keep players playing the game (This could even be used in tournaments as well). And third, have a way better environment for players who want to use older cards. It's one of the reasons why people want a better Wild mode. If you were to make that better or have a new mode that makes better use of older cards, that would score some interest from players who have played for many years. And thanks for all those have read through all of this... I have a lot to say it seems.

posted a message on Taiwan Disqualified From The Hearthstone Global Games For Stream Sniping

I'm wondering if they may need a longer delay (like 30 mins). Sure it would be annoying for the viewers, however that said at least it would stop teams some sniping.

Still it's good to see Blizzard noticed this and did something about it.

posted a message on The new ranks are better to the game than we think!
    Quote from Xynot >>

    What will actually happen:

    1. Buy the bundle, grind out some packs, get promo cards, etc.
    2. At 1600 dust, craft Whizbang
    3. Trash the new ranks as people who aren't in the 'know' dink around with F2P decks.

Sounds like a blast. I'll give a try in Europe I guess.

Funny you mention about point three, there is one player who just had a match up against a warlock zoo deck (Not me, just saw this on the news page).

posted a message on A New Hearthstone Book Arrives In A Month - The Hearthstone Pop-Up Book!

So they making pop-up books because...?

Seriously though, I don't get why they have done this. I mean when they announced the artwork book, I can see why people would want something like that. This is a nice way to credit artists for the artwork, plus there are those who are really interested with the artwork, so that I can understand.

But a pop-up book which explains the same things the game itself explains... I really just don't get it.

So this is my idea, though it's not really flashy. Anyway I'll see what you think.
