People suddenly stopped playing Razakus Priest to test out the new toys. When that deck comes back, grindy decks like control Warlock will once again have a lot of problems.

That's not a bug of your opponent, that's you being disconnected. -

Horkinger posted a message on best counter to star aligner druid????Posted in: General DiscussionHey it does work sometimes. But let's consider a couple of instances:
1. Out ramped - you cannot pull the combo back and you lose early. Getting the melon early is over 50% for druid btw.
2. You need to draw Azalina and have ice block set up. Two one ofs in a deck with much less draw than druid. If you azalina there will be no reno either. So it's up to the druid to leave you within two hp range for the following turn.
3. You just don't have enough damage to go through the druid armor in one turn.
I have to admit i lost to a reno mage that just responded to my combo with a smart nova reno. But then I started running Loatheb, which also shuts down baku warriors.
+1
Are you one of the star aligner player? just curious how Odd Rogue and Even Shaman can beat star aligner deck? How to beat them before turn 7 or 5?
Pressure. Odd Rogue (charge and buffed pirates) and (Even) Shaman (4 mana 7/7 and Sea Giant (maybe with windfury)) in wild can put high damage minions in the early turns. Ramp and carddraw do not help against that and neither does armorgain since the armor is beaten away in a single turn. It finally boils down to "do they have Spreading Plague and is spreading plague enough delay to avoid the beat up".

Inconspicuosaurus posted a message on Drakonid Operative: Pushing Priests to Dragons One Last TimePosted in: NewsIt's fine with me. The whole Standard vs Wild concept allows them more freedom with card design, and on top of that, the later in the year that something is released, the more risks they can take. I'd much rather they occasionally release a risky-ish card like Drakonid Op that brings fun and variety to the game, than they never be able to release anything that isn't vanilla or crazy understatted for the sake of possible combos with any one of the thousands of cards in the game.
I think the reasoning they gave - that Drak has to have a deck built around it in a previously nigh-unplayed class to be any good - is perfectly reasonable. Dragon-mechanic cards balance themselves because they require each other to work. Unlike, say, Shaman, where if overload or totem synergy becomes too good it becomes unmanagable, because overload cards are good on their own and totems are a default part of the class. In this vein, I think the easiest way to make Drakonid Op good, but not anywhere near broken, would be to make the card itself a non-dragon. This would of course require a redesign though, as Drakonids are canonically considered Dragons in HS. But tbh I think it is fine how it is.

RavenSunHP posted a message on Will anyone play wild after April rotation?Posted in: General DiscussionIt's just a matter of which cancer you prefer.
You will certainly enjoy new fresh cancers in Standard, which will actually be more cancerous by means of their novelty and the more restricted meta. ;)
I will certainly enjoy Wild, where cancers at least are forced to fight each other.

RavenSunHP posted a message on Decks that will die or change completely after RotationPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from RavenSunHP >>Those cards are rotating, but the related decks won't necessarily die with them.
They may simply survive with a new kind of support, found in new cards.
Only those based on very unique cards are likely to die, but even then, not necessarily.
basically you are saying tempo rogue didnt die with patches and corridor creeper nerf ;)A nerf does not introduce new cards, a rotation introduces a new set. ;) -

Kovachut posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!Posted in: General DiscussionPosting a salty rant opinion about rogue quest in 3, 2, 1...
I can't understand why people defend this deck. Today i had a bad experience against it and i just reminded myself, why i got bored with hs this season. To all of you, who say, fast decks beat it, use Dirty Rat, screw you. If you think that tech-ing 2 rats in there will help you in most of the cases, you are wrong. Unlike the other combo decks, where you have TIME to establish a board or at least to have the mana for when you rat your opponent, and then destroy the minion. It's turn 4 or 5 and they are near to finish it, you play your rat and? They can bounce it back, if you you can't do anything for the remaining 2 or 3 mana. And one more thing. Why do you always encourage aggro decks to be played? Before I continue, know this - JUST BECAUSE A DECK HAS COUNTERS, IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT'S NOT DEGENERATED. Absolutely the same case with PW last season - hard counters like CW countered it, but the deck was UNIVERSAL. Now you play him as your saviour against the QR or the other fast decks, which were underwhelmed by PW last season, but that's ok, because you can finally play those decks. What about slower decks? Nah, they are for casuals only.
But no, I'm writing this post, just to point out some "consistencies", that go in the QR's favour:
- they abuse the charge mechanic; a 1 mana deckhand pulls a free patches, if the rogue played the quest reward, that is 10 damage for 1 mana (1/3 of the hero's health) and even more with every bouncer; combo decks before un'goro needed Emperor almost always (with exception of miracle rogue) and A LOT OF MANA; completing the deck early on it's not a well-designed card, it just encourages ANOTHER BROKEN DECK TO BE PLAYED (PW) and DON"T TELL ME THAT ROGUE FINALLY GOT A STRONG DECK; that's not just strong, it's unbalanced.
- RNG and why i am so pissed - The Slashburglers compensate the player going all in. It not just a minion, that triggers patches, it leaves value after himself. And when you finally clear their board or you are struggling with it, they just mock you with the extra value they get + even more with every bouncer giving them more resources
- Edwin - ffs this even gets a buff, it gets additional 3/3 stats and it grows even bigger, if this minion should change its stats. then only on the board with buff spells, not with the effect of its own
- and if their board is threatening enough, you have to spend a big portion of your mana (and sometimes even the whole turn) just to clear the board, you can use expensive board clears like Dragonfire potion or Fellfire Potion, because they are expensive you cannot establish a board after that and these harm your own minions. While the rogue player can spam cheap tokens on the board, of they have charge, they can trade with your minions and the bouncers keep them fresh. I don't find this to be that of a big problem, but only in the cases, when they complete the quest early. And because they have the ability to do it very often, I suggest the quest would be nerfed to 5 minions, 4 minions is way too easy.
Note: Fuck all of you hypocrites, that said the rogue quest was weak and 3 weeks later they play it as if they are the biggest rogue fans out there. You play the deck just because it's way too strong, AND YOU KNOW IT.
* I sincerely apologize to those people, who have fun playing QR, because the task is not straightforward as the other ones (like playing XXX Y times)
Note 2 - the deck is really powerful, but not in a good way. You cannot ignore that and say "It has counters, play them", because the decks like PW are also busted and WE SHOULDN'T ENCOURAGE BUSTED DECKS TO BE PLAYED.
Note 3 - I repeat some things, because people ignore them in the rant threads. They all go with the typical use this, use that... Anyway if someone read my post, thx for the attention. -

Kovachut posted a message on New Priest Spell - Psychic ScreamPosted in: Card DiscussionI knew, that you would become passionate about it. I knew, that you will become sensitive about what I said and tbh I'm kinda sorry for myself, that I started this conversation in the first place. And also - I don't care if I sound rude to you, you just remind me of those people, who don't take all the sides into perspective, but rather they only accept what they believe.
"I'm not your boy. I'm probably twice your age. I'm probably twice your age, earned my master in political science, PhD in Philosophy and by the way an oral surgeon working in a private practice." Lol, then ACT LIKE AN ADULT. ACT LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL you are claiming to be. From what I remember, all you expressed were your subjective opinions, followed by words like "overly aggressive, mindless, one dimensional, low skilled + mindless, dumb, stupid, uncreative, moronic; brain-deadness, aggro-tempo-burn retardism" etc etc, but if you really were an annalist, then you would have looked into the bigger picture, into what caused all of this. The answer is the game-design flaw (reward system) and the popularity of slow decks and this being their natural counter. You would have known that, if you read some articles. You would have presented objective arguments about what should change and not just talking in exclamatory sentences. You kinda acted shocked, that things shouldn't be that way. Then what do you want to see? - an extermination of all other deck-types, which don't resemble the control one? How do you imagine things would look like? People will play the deck, which enables the most greed (the ability to out-value you opponent), which does best at exhausting the opponent at their resources. Right now I'm only thinking about priest - because of the nature of that class being concentrated on the control role + tools like Entomb, Thoughtsteal, Mind Control etc - but even if it was another class, then people would have only played that one. And since we don't have the natural counters, since we deleted all other arch-types, since a certain deck-type does optimally in all criteria, since there is no other criteria, then people will play the same deck over and over again.
"Yours is unbalanced and aggressive and aggression is by definition low skilled and mindless." - only in psychology would this term be used with a such connotation. This is a game, dude, don't take the word aggro as a bad thing. Use the synonym instead - race, because this is what those decks try to do. They try to race you down. Because if they can't beat you at your game, they will play by their own rules. Imagine a mouse against an elephant in a duel. Now, the mouse would never reach the sizes of the elephant, it would never be able to do the things the elephant does - pushing heavy surroundings with its body. So they will live by their own strengths. The elephant can't stomp on the mouse, simply because how slow and clumsy the elephant is. This describes super greedy decks versus aggro ones. You screwed yourself in those situations. That's why you have to play anti-aggro tools too.
About the existence of anti-aggro control? Yes, I have no idea how to play this game. I will just ask my friend control warrior (also the same one back in Gadgetzan, who could have thrived, if it wasn't for jade dudu) with their Sleep with the Fishes, also shaman with his Lightning Storm and Maelstrom Portals, warlocks with their Defiles, Hellfires, mages with the Volcanic Potions and I can go on and on. Not to mention the cheap taunts and heal options... Dude, there are many ways to counter the aggro decks, you just have to use the appropriate tools. If you like to play 7+ mana cards, then fine, but like I said, don't blame other play styles for not following your beloved and "the only one worth respect" - the control one.
I make a distinction, because I believe there is a line, tolerating how fast a certain aggro deck should be. And for me the old versions of pirate warrior and aggro shaman, where you could die on turn 4 or 5 were just ridiculous, but imho it is allowed to end the game by turn 7, 8 or even 9 for their standards. Because I have some time to react, I have more opportunities to use my board clears and to gain board control. Tempo rogue can't end the game that quickly. Token shaman can, but if you deal with the low-health totems and tokens, then they must rebuild the board all over again. And you don't need to play expensive AoEs, just a 2 damage one is more than enough. It's that simple.
I am not going to waste my breath on trying to stand on my point about this card. Everything what I wanted to say, I said it in the previous post. So I won't repeat unnecessary points. But if you can't understand why this card is so problematic, how it counters every other arch-type with the exception of control (in a fatigue game), how it will have a bad influence on the state of the meta, how regardless of the deck being Raza, Big or any other form of control priest, that it destroys the natural counters of this arch-type, then you shouldn't really talk about equality and power differential, as this only sounds super paradoxical in your statements.

Kovachut posted a message on The Pepper Thread - Share your good vibes!Posted in: General DiscussionAh, how I love casual decks in hs, especially when there are fireworks involved.
I didn't have an idea, that the game would get silly, else I would have made more screenshots.
So imagine the following picture: Steal Priest with a bit of deathrattles (me) vs Keleseth-Amara-Majordomo-Raza Priest (opponent, duh)
I was the first player. Turn one golden Mind Vision into a golden Awaken the Makers.
So we both play our shit, turn 10 comes, they got their Amara and now they decide to play their Majordomo Executus. I was wondering a lot whether or not I should Entomb him, but then I said "f*ck it" I'M THE STEAL PRIEST, BITCH, followed by Mind Control-ling that f*cker. My opponent decided to get him back and played Sylvanas Windrunner :D, but No, Majordomo was MY SLAVE, I Entombed her as well, showed my dominance all over the place.
A few turns pass, he kinda gave up getting his old win-condition, now he tries to make a board, to kill my Majordomo and then finally me. Luckily for me, a few days ago I crafted Shadowreaper Anduin, played him and cleared the board, thus finally turned into Rag. His turn followed by playing Spiritsinger Umbra and a plain Feugen. Sniped that buffed 5/8 and played bunch of cheap stuff to fasten the quest completion. Next turn they play Nefarian for some reason. As for myself:
At the end I remember I drew Thoughtsteal and I even stole his Shadowreaper Anduin too.
This game was in honor of Le Dawg, thanks for all the great videos.

Kovachut posted a message on Juicy Psychmelon is ridiciously overpowered and will be nerved for surePosted in: Card DiscussionI edited my post for a third time. I have a bad habit doing this.
But I fully agree - this is even worse than the giants, because the highroll potential in those combo decks is higher. If druids start the game with cheap ramps, the combo can be executed around turn 5-7.
I'm happy for you, that you will stay and counter them with your Kabal decks. I wish you to always find brann + rat or 2 rats on time. Speaking for myself - I never liked facing problematic decks, which only leave me with a bad taste in my mouth. That's why I will stay aside from wild ladder for now.

Spiritsinger is used in more decks and its the safest craft out of mentioned options

Oh woah. We have new Stephen Hawking and Einstein combined. Now I can sleep safely knowing that here is an amazing mastermind that beats all the braindead decks and players piloting them xDDDD

I kinda recommend it since it is well written article and the writer has a good knowledge of game overall) What do you think?

Yes,either Zola or Banker

^ I agree with that. The reason why Dragon Reno Priest is so succesfull it is because it preys on all other Tribal archetypes and Midrange/Control decks that are currently viable. The Dragon theme for Priest in Wild is overpushed to the point where Dragons in Priest are more effective and powerfull than Pirates,Murlocs and Mechs as well in other classes. Duskbreaker is OP,Drakonid Operative is still OP, Wyrmrest Agents,Twilight Whelp are well statted guys and Twilight Acolyte negotiates the fat body as well. Combine this with clears,Potion of Maddnes and decent amount of heal and you will have deck that will bully Odd Rogue,Even Shaman and other Midrangish decks as well.

Alanna can fit too. She has a huge downside though: she is for heavy Control matchups only like Big Priest,Renolock or Odd warrior and even then she is kinda managenable by the removals. Also another downside is that we have only 4 5+ mana spells in our deck so in order to get full value, you need to play at least 2 5+ mana Kazakus potions.
Yes the deck is strong. But definitelly not tier 1 worthy. Probably like bottom of Tier 2 and even then it needs to be piloted by an experienced Control player)
I dont have time toi record now. But Im considering straming on tiwtch in the future. Im not sure yet though.

Hi) Sindragosa can be replaced by Malcrass,Alanna or Dr.Boom. She is kinda good but replacable. I would put it this way: Do you like playing Control Mage decks? If so, then shes worth the dust. Replacing Geist with something in this meta is completely ok because Geist counter Inner Fire Priests and Jades only that are only at legend ranks as an odd options but not on a non legend climb. Tainted Zealot seems like an interesting replacement for Thalnos. Do you need Spell damage more than for example some tech card or draw card like Loot Hoarder?

S58 And my Reno Mage is still relevant. Ranked with it from rank 3 to Legend. Now its Top 100 goal

To sum things up. The biggest reason why its not played is the fact that you want YOUR decks Heropower. Even decks want their Heropower. Hunter wants his SMOrc Heropower or his DK Heropower. Warlock preffers his Heropower over his opponents. Im not even talking about Warlock DK Heropower. Same goes for Mage,Priest basically any class ever. And Odd decks would prefer theirs as well if they could run the card. Why would you want a random one, if you want to consistently use yours trough Genn-Baku or Hero cards? Thats why it doesnt see play. Nor from competitive nor from tech perspective.

Nonono. They have synergy with Hobgoblin and DK Jaina. Im offended by your wisps >:((((((
