I just looked at the stats (hsreplay.net, premium) on how much decks win when going first or second. More specifically I looked at some of the most popular deck types: stealth rogue, face hunter, libram paladin and survival druid. The winrate for each of those deck is quite a few percent LOWER when going second (with a COIN), even though quite some of these decks use combo or spellburst cards.
This proposed coin nerf pops up all the time, even though there (nearly) never was a time in HS when there existed a deck that prefered to go second.

To be honest, I play a bunch of the Prime cards and so far I've been very rarely playing them as they only arrive pretty late in the game and it's usually over by then.
I think in my 30+ games as mage so far I've played Solarian Prime once or maybe twice.

I'll be paraphrasing one of the Diablo developers, I think this is relevant:
It doesn't matter how long people played your game, it matters how much fun they had doing it.
They respond extremely fast by nerfing four cards, I agree that Blightfiend must become a 2/1 at least, but at least they did something.
But it's never enough here, is it? :)

Sucks they didn't nerf Battlefiend. Yesterday had a game where, at turn 3, I was left at 19 health and the only card the DH played was that one.

First days were already ruined when Blizzard decided to allow a meta to form BEFORE each expansion releases by allowing "influencers" access. There's much less initial exploration any more as over half the people are already netdecking.

The days of Zerek's Cloning Gallery shenanigans with Maly and Velen are finally over (in standard).
I remember a year ago when that deck was present somewhat in the meta, had a good run with it.
ot gonna miss: Shudderwock and Mecha'Thun though. Think I'm finally gonna disenchant my golden mecha'thun after getting it in my second pack and never having used it.

So you're saying a six mana card or an eight mana card choice should cost 5? Well played.

From your first line I can gather that you don't fully understand the new system.
You don't get pitted against people with a similar final score last season, you get pitted against people with a similar MMR.

Nope, wasn't looking for cancer.
