Replacing the BK for it seems worth it, not sure about sylvanas though. If you have some leftover dust, I don't see why you wouldn't craft it, the shredder and sky golem feel like pretty solid cards to me (so far).
I replaced tbk with it then suddenly came across a bunch of taunts. Might switch out slyvannas instead, sludge belchers are run in most decks so I should normally get value plus it synergises with the rusty horn spare part as a way to kill minions.
Thursday morning I accidentally opened a classic pack and got Duplicate Jaraxxus. I'm playing a mech mage and paladin right now and I am thinking about replacing slyvannas or the black knight in my mech mage deck for a piloted sky golem. was just wondering if it was worth it?
"or if not its just sooo RNG dependant" This is why it isn't overpowered. Yesterday I did get some god draws, fel reaver and malorne. But many times it's gotten me northshire clerics and lightwells for example. It's a fantastic card but it can get you crap that doesn't help and just waste a card. One of my funniest moments was when I got the black knight from it, I then drew one from my deck but never played either because the opponent didn't play taunts.
So did the buff to warlocks cause a sudden resurgence of handlock? I don't care either way, in fact I enjoy playing handlock. But it seems like just last season we got rid of them and now I am seeing them (slightly modified of course) all over the place.
Are we seeing a resurrection?
I was already running Handlock, of course I'm in the EU so i cant see the effect of this yet, but maybe gvg has shifted the meta to less aggressive rush decks, making handlock much better because there are more control and midrange deck matchups.
Just wondering if anyone's tried it in arena and/or knows. Blingtron could equip you with the rogue 3 mana 2/2 weapon or cog hammer, I'm doubting that it triggers the battlecry but some clarification would be nice.
After 185 votes, the order seems to be largely the same:
Warrior
Warlock
Druid
Priest
Rogue
Hunter
Paladin
Shaman
Mage
I find it odd to see that hunter is above paladin, I doubt hunter's new class legendary can beat Tirion, Bolvar seems to be bad, but so was king Krush. This is of course people's opinions, but really?
Deathrattles are valued at 1/2 the price of Battlecries. If Cairne gave you a Yeti as a Battlecry it would be an 8 mana card.
I wouldn't say exactly 1/2 in all circumstances though, for example Sludge belchers and Harvest golems would be worse without their deathrattle being a deathrattle, same arguably with haunted creeper. So Idk really, the card could work at its current cost as a deathrattle and I think that'd be good.
Hell Droid: The Battlecry is Consecration. The body is a Chillwind Yeti. Putting both together is 8 mana.
Life Shatter: I agree with the direction the two of you are going. Fireball is 6 damage for 4 mana. 3-damage to your own face is equivalent to 1 mana, which can justify increasing the spell damage by 2 (Arcane Shot). However, I agree with you that being able to do 8 damage to face on T4 is unbalancing, so I would add in the minion only limitation. So, all told I would have it read.
4 mana Do 8 damage to a minion, take 3 damage.
This would still be a huge tempo play, but it would be a late-game tempo play.
I'd think 8 mana might be a bit too much, 7 mana would seem fitting. A bunch of cards have the effect of two cards in one for less than the price of two. Cairne bloodhoof for example gives you 2 yetis for the price of 1 and a half, but then again it's a deathrattle which decreases the value of it slightly due to silences. I think 7 mana would be good, but not broken, as class cards are better than neutral cards. Warlock doesn't really have any solid mid to late game minions that are good in constructed other than doom guard, and that has a really big negative downside and doesn't fit the criteria of what a handlock ( the deck I play a lot) can use. Other options could be leave it at 6 mana but apply to all characters, or make it a deathrattle but I think either would make the card slightly worse.
Hell Droid- First off i like the Mech-Demon,would really like to see an army of mechanic demons, now on to the card itself, Dealing 2 damage to all enemy minions is valued at 4 mana as a stand alone card (Consacration) so you are practicly paying 2 mana for a yeti statline, even as a class card it's too cheap, maybe make it a 7-8 mana card and i could see it happening.
Life Shatter- Very warlock-ish spell, like the idea but it costs too much for what it does, at 4 mana you have Fireball for 6 damage, this one deals 1 more damage but also hurts you for 3, still most warlock spells can only be cast on minions, so this should be something around the lines of "Deal 8 damage to an enemy minion and 3 damage to your hero/to a random friendly character" for 4 mana
This is just my opinion tho so i might be wrong
Thanks for your thoughts. I was trying more to put in ideas for mechanics and not exactly balanced cards. I had a long think about the Life shatter spell, the thing is, you don't want to be able to do too much damage for 4 mana. Possibly deal 8 damage if it's limited to minions might be balanced if you take 3 damage, or possibly the damage taken could be reduced to 2 for 7 damage. Not as efficient as mage spells but warlocks do have a bunch of punish-reward cards.
Eh, maybe it deserves a downside. Auchenai does the same thing essentially with priest, just instead transforming the 2 heal into two damage. Then again Auchenai applies to all heals as opposed to just the hero ability. I think this card is fairly balanced, most hunters would just use their hero ability to hit face anyway. If the card had to have a downside, maybe give it the text "Your hero power can only target minions".
Trump, a very big youtuber who streams and post youtube videos of hearthstone (Probably the most well known hearthstone player, that or Amaz), recently posted videos of him playing a druid constructed deck in which he put hogger in. It worked wonders against all the zoo/hunter matchups he came across, as essentially you get a 2/2 with taunt and a 4/4 with a kind of taunt atleast. If enemies choose to ignore hogger, then hogger will just spawn another obstacle for them to get through, I guess faceless Manipulator would work well with hogger. He's one of the few legendaries I thought was pretty meh at first, but now I see he generally will get value for his cost atleast ( silver hand knight is a 5 mana 4/4 that summons a 2/2, and if taunt is valued at 0.5 mana then Hogger is worth it even if the opponent removes hogger right away.)
