What you said about Dany is true at the same time it isn't. The rule in the show is that Targaryans are nutcases. Dany lost her mind because she has the Targaryan gen. She was a time bomb, wich exploded this episode.

Except it isn't. In the show there are more perfectly sane Targaryens, than insane ones.

Apparently both the writers and the scorpions contracted the stormtrooper disease. In last week they picked of a dragon easily while in this, they could not aim for shit.

They kinda forgot how to scorpion.

Way too many haters on the last episode. Drogon and daenerys watched as their brother/child Rhaegal suffered a painful death with a scorpion arrow through the throat. Then, Cersei murders that ebony lady (I forget her name.. Messelei or something), so what was Cersei expecting??? I liked how this episode showed how brutally powerful Drogon was, he’s basically a Deathwing in arena.

The relentless massacre of thousands of innocent was tough to watch, but it’s GoT and this show is never easy to watch. Daenerys is becoming the new mad queen and will kill anyone in her way to reach the throne. Now the tables have turned and she is the tyrant.

and for those saying “oh the scorpions got nerfed” I mean really? Do you have any idea how hard it would be to hit a flying dragon with an oversized crossbow that is heavy and hard to maneuver? How fast does Drogon fly, like 70 km/hr? I’ve been hunting before and it wasn’t the easiest thing shooting a flying duck with a shotgun so I couldn’t imagine taking down a dragon

    1. "becoming the new mad queen" In scope of 1 episode, right. Helluva character development.

    2. Yet it wasn't an issue to 3 out of 3 a flying dragon just last week. From a moving fucking boat.

You're right about the show not being easy to watch though. Not for the right reasons.

Lol they got blindsided when they weren’t expecting it and were flying in a linear path. Apparently dragons are very intelligent creatures, so do you not think Drogon learned how to adapt to being shot at? For example like I don’t know maybe flying super low against the sea, always maneuvering, being very aggressive.

And also it wasn’t in one episode she turned. I think Daenerys started to change when she found out about Jon's true identity.  Think about it man, she’s been basically getting shat on ever since she went north to help out.

     Ok, two episodes. You won.

I mean, who cares about 7 seasons of character development, amirite? I know Jaime agrees.

Dany has seen and experienced some pretty horrific shit in the past 7 seasons.  If you're going to argue that this is suddenly ruining her arc to have her lose her shit NOW and that it would have been more believable to have her go crazy earlier, then you would also have to argue that it would have been "sudden and ruining the character development" at literally any other time.

Jaime's makes sense because he's been with Cercei a hell of a lot longer than he's been opposing her tyrannical rule.  I think in Season 8, the reality of war and the fact that he could actually lose Cercei and their unborn child starts to set in.   Up until then, it's simply been "Hey Cercei stop doing bad things," and now it's "Hey Cercei, don't fucking die okay?"

     1. Yes, it would make it helluva more believable to lose her shit GRADUALLY. Not with a switch flip. You want an example of how to progress a character from a good person into a monster - watch Breaking Bad.

    2. No, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. It's once again 7 seasons of character progression thrown into a dumpster fire. Jaime didn't need  to become a hero, but he needed to keep the consistency of his character. And his actions in Ep4-5 are complete nonsensical.

In case you don't know, the end is from the  forthcoming books and it was also pretty obvious from the start. GRRM, the author of ASOIAF said the ending would be bittersweet.

The show just shoehorned everything together because the final two books haven't been released yet and they for some reason completely rushed through books 4 and 5, ommiting everything that happened in past seven seasons and ruining characters arcs completely.

    FIFY.

This was the best episode in this season so far. What’s wrong with you guys?

I'm sorry, but just no. Literally 2 things made sense in this episode:

    1. Tormund leaving - what happens next is not his fight.

    2. Varys doing his thing FINALLY.

Hound & Arya, Hound & Sansa scenes were a nice touch.

     The rest though...

    - Iron Fleet: exists. Dany&co: Let's take the boats!

    - Whole Bronn scene - what the hell was that? Do we get a 15-min short where he runs into each room with a crossbow looking for Tirion and Jamie? They should source Benny Hill's theme for it. Then, why does he agree to that deal, which isn't backed by anything?

    - Jon dumping Ghost. Completely out of character for JS.

    - Two years of filming and editing to miss a FUCKING STARBUCKS CUP?!

    - Aimbot Euron with heatseeking bolts. Hitting 3 out of 3 from an untested weapon on a moving boat at a flying target - just fuck you, writers.

    - Blind Dany conveniently not seeing the Iron Fleet armada from a vantage position.

    - Whole negotiations scene: Cersei paid Bronn to kill Tirion, but doesn't shoot him full of arrows now? And not wiping out the entire delegation? I won't take any "but diplomacy" excuses, cause it's completely and entirely out of character for her. She'd massacre them all in a heartbeat, cause she doesn't give a flying fuck.

    - Euron not picking up a clue that it's not his muffin in the oven? He's not the brightest, yes, but not THAT dumb either.

    - Missandei not even trying to go out with a bang.

    - Bran.

"One dragon in recorded history has been brought down from the air by a projectile, and it was a one in a million shot... A mature dragon in the air is virtually invulnerable." - GRRM

How do you know if a dragon is mature? Shoot it with a ballista, if it survives - mature.

so I'm just gonna refute all your points, because you're really not making much sense.

    1) it doesn#t matter what their goals were, their tactics were absolute nonsense from any angle unless their plan was to literally suicide all their troops and hope for a miracle, because unless you forgot, Arya doing her ninja shit wasn't planned anyways. The plan was to lure the Night king into an open area with Bran and then kill him somehow. Meanwhile they don't set an ambush, leave Bran with Theon of all people (literally why not Jon, who doesn't even need to be on a dragon at all since he contributes barely anything to its combat)

TBH, I'm pretty sure Theon got the highest kill count this episode, besides dragons. While Jon was running back and forth like an idiot, Theon was lighting mofos up. Also, since he's a skilled archer, it makes perfect sense to put him with Bran - he won't tire fast from hand to hand combat, and is able to keep the wights at some distance.

In a nutshell, this is the one and only strategic decision in the episode that actually makes sense.

Other than that, while I did somewhat enjoy the episode for pure entertainment value - it's a hot mess.

When did all characters who are supposedly good strategists become bllithering idiots? Cavalry at the first line? Charging into who the hell know what? It makes ZERO sense, unless all Dothraki extras had scheduled vacations during filming. Next, using their best infantry - the Unsullied - as simple meatshields? No sense. Halfasses, nay, quaterassed fortifications? Come on...

Then there's Bran watching porn on WierWood.net for the entirety of the battle. I wish they gave him at least something, ANYTHING, to do. Useless, useless boy.

I'm ok with Arya killing NK, but as was noted wish it was less anime. Also, kinda wished that Theon would've pulled a knife out of his boot and stab him right before dying.

Jesus Christ, why fucking Sam is still alive?
