Couldn't agree more.
The ability to play with cards outside of the ones in of your (arguably small) starting deck creates the perfect balance between consistency and inconsistency in a game of Hearthstone.
Matches tend to be similar, but they're never the same.
That's why Aggro and Combo decks often become problematic at a certain point in a card game's lifecycle. They become too consistent and, thus, too powerful.
If players like this, they're much better off playing something like chess.
Hearthstone can circumvent this typical problem by focusing more on card generation effects.
In addition, IMO, the game only really starts to become interesting when both players have 10 mana and a full hand of cards, because that's when serious choices start getting involved.
Not everyone will play the same 10-card hand the same way.
Whereas with Aggro and Combo decks, the right choices are often very obvious and, in many cases, too obvious to be healthy for the game.

You're correct, and you're not a conspiracy theorist. This game is rigged beyond belief, and anyone with a brain could and would notice that with only a couple hours of playing it. The best you can do is delete it and never come back, because you'll only waste your time watching a game unfold with a predetermined outcome.

Fuck this game and its disgusting RNG and meta, I'm uninstalling it until they fix the game (which they probably won't, so I won't be coming back). Good luck to each and everyone of you, but I think it's for the best to delete the game and not waste your time on flipping coins and getting triggered by the most unlikely results to happen (which you'll only see in this game). I wish it didn't have to be like this but I see no other option (since they're not fixing the game and listening to their community anytime soon), so this is goodbye for me, cya!

To all the people who are salty and are not liking the game in its current state: JUST STOP PLAYING! It's that simple. Hit Blizzard where it hurts, and just stop playing altogether.

I played 4 of my last 6 ranked games in Wild against Secret Mages, thank you so much for the variety Blizzard! Best game company ever! <3 /s

"Hi guys,
I'm a former dev and I see a lot of people are still raging on this forum about our former hit game, and apparently a lot of people didn't get the memo: We've quit supporting this game a while ago, since a large portion of the playerbase has already left and the game is costing us more money (maintaining servers etc.) than it's making us, so we've decided to no longer support it. Just wanted to inform all of you guys that it's best to move on and find another game to play, oh and we decided to discourage any remaining players that are still playing our game by increasing the RNG against them, so they'll quit and our server costs go down. I hope to have properly informed the users of this forum about the current situation, and want to thank each and every one of you for playing and supporting our game all this time, and hope that you'll find another game to play and enjoy, but it's time to wrap it up and move on to greener pastures! ;)
Yours sincerely,
Former dev"
P.S. This post was sarcastic and I'm not a former dev, nor do I pretend to be, but considering the current state of the game it really feels like they're alienating a lot of "older" players, players who've been here and played and supported this game for a long time and who still hold some hope, that some day the devs could magically "repair" this game and make it alright again, and it seems that the "newer" players get favourable RNG and get rewarded for bad plays and/or get "get out of jail-cards" more when that specific game's outcome should already have been decided by that point (especially when your opponent topdecks a card like Zephrys the Great midway in the game, with an outcome of 3/100 to get a card that could save his ass or he would lose the game otherwise, which consists in a total chance of (1/20)*(3/100) = 0.15%, and that wouldn't be a problem if it would only occur in every 15 out of 10000 games, but it doesn't and it literally happens every other game. People have been complaining about this for so long now, and the RNG aspect of the game has only gotten worse over time, so it really seems that the devs favour newer players over their current or "old" player base. Of course there's nothing wrong with preferring certain players over others because it's a corporate world after all, but it would be nice to just hear them say "Yes, we've shafted our old players over for newer ones, because the old players make us little to no money compared to our newer ones", then we could all get along with our lives and leave this game behind us for the P2W-players. But the fact of the matter is, they won't because they don't want to be seen as greedy and hurt their reputation, and the player base feels like it's stuck in a vicious circle: You'll lose a lot of games in a row and will begin to doubt your own capabilities and sanity, until you lay down the game for a while, and when you'll pick it back up you'll suddenly start winning some games again. This happens mostly right before the release of a new set of cards, because the game wants you to feel good, to the point that you're contemplating on buying some new cards with real money, and once you've done this your RNG suddenly evaporates like snow in the sunshine because the game has accomplished its goal of getting people to invest money in it. For the "older" players, we've seen this all before and we know too well that the altered RNG is too much of a coincidence to be legit. Loss-streaks of 40 losses in a row are not even uncommon at this point (which should actually be really, really, really rare in a type of game like this). I don't know why HS is so addictive, maybe it's because of the RNG that creates a gambler's kind of dopamine, but I know that a life without HS is much better than with HS in it, especially with the state the game is currently in. So I bid thee farewell, my fellow players, I'm uninstalling the game and I won't be returning anytime soon. It's a shame it had to end like this, but every story has its ending, and this is the ending of my HS story. Goodbye everyone, I'll miss raging on this game in this sub and on this website, but I think it's the better for every player to quit this game now, than to waste any more time on it because it's a lost cause.

This game is such a fucking joke, why do you guys still play it? I know the state of video-games is pretty bad right now, but jesus fucking christ, why would you waste your precious time on this scripted ass joke of a game? The RNG is so fucking ridiculous, you couldn't make the shit up that you see on a regular basis on this game, fuck this game and fuck the developers.
1
I have never seen such a scripted game as this scripted garbage. People please, send Blizzard a message and stop playing this scripted shit, because you're only wasting your time hoping they'll change and/or improve it otherwise.

I think the devs and Blizzard/Activision honestly don't give a shit anymore. They know the veterans have been playing the game for long enough and they don't make them enough money compared to new players, because by now the veterans already have a considerate collection of cards and have no incentive to spend any more money on this game.

How is it possible that Priests (in Wild) always have Barnes in their hand on turn 4 (or turn 3 when they have the coin)?!

Why hasn't this card been nerfed yet? This card is absolutely disgusting in wild priest
