posted a message on The community's standard attitude towards Wild is unhelpful and needs to be changed.

I feel like one of the reasons why people just dump on wild all the time is due to how highrolly it seems on the outside. I do not play much wild but I have a close friend who does and I like to talk to her about how wild is since I like to play occasionally in that mode and from what I hear from her is vastly different from what I hear on forums like this. On Hearthpwn, wild sounds like a cesspool of big priests and to a lesser extent Darkest Hour Warlocks just running amok and terrorizing the entire format and while yeah the decks may be strong decks, ladder is not completely comprised of them. There's a bunch of different decks in wild that vary in what they do well yet the only ones that are really talked about most the time on forum places are the ones that highroll the shit out of people, such as turn 4 Barnes or turn 4 Darkest Hour. This stuff is not what happens a majority of the time but you would not see someone post in the salt or pepper threads "Oh I just had the most mediocre game against big priest, they didn't get a minion until turn 6 in where it was too late for them to recover".

As for cards that have been nerfed for wild, I can remember around 5-7 nerfs that were specifically for wild due to the cards being too strong in that format. The reason why I say 6-7 is because the last two, Flametongue Totem and Cold Blood, were not specifically for wild yet feel like the devs did them with wild in mind. These leaves 5 big nerfs for wild, with them being Leeching Poison, Aviana, Naga Sea Witch, Patches the Pirate and Raza the Chained. It is important to note that out of the 3 years wild has been a format and the 13 balance changes, wild first received nerfs for a year and two months.

While I'm not saying that Wild needs more frequent changes (heck, I'm kind of on the side of 'let wild be wild' because I like absurd interactions), it is depressing knowing how little Blizzard cares about the format. Naga Sea Witch (if I can remember correctly) was a problem in wild for upwards of 6-7 months and given the outcry the wild community gave, it is baffling that it took them that long to change the deck and Kingsbane Mill rogue was even worse, starting with the inception of Kingsbane. Granted, they were significantly faster in terms of nerfing Star Aligner druid and given how frequent balance patches were in Rastakhan, hopefully, they'll try applying that a bit more to wild.

Now that I'm reading what I wrote, I feel like I went on a bit of a tangent and so I'm sorry about that. However, to summarize what I am trying to say is that standard only players do not hear as much of what makes wild great and instead hear how people get highrolled due to a specific couple of decks. People then assume that due to the lack of balance changes for wild, only nerfing incredibly strong cards (heck, Patches is still played because a free 1/1 is absurdly strong), and blizzards overall silence on the format aside from the occasional wild tavern brawl or (what I think is) a yearly wild tournament only causes people to stay further away from it.

You should get a copy of the minion muckmorpher turned into. A good way to understand what transforming does is that if it changes the art of the card to something else, it becomes that card if it were to be revived somehow.

Take Lucentbark and Flobbidinous Floop. Play lucentbark and then floop and have both of them die. When you gain 5 health, both the lucentbark and floop will come back as 4/8 taunts.

I posted to links above mate if you could look at tham and let me know which one you think is better. (I'm leaning towards the hagatha one, but I won't be able to craft harison jones for it. do you think not having harsion will hurt the deck a lot?)

Harrison Jones can pretty much always be replaced by an Acidic Swamp Ooze. If we look at the weapons you'll most likely be destroyed, it's either a Waggle Pick, Wrenchcalibur, Likkim, Supercollider or Headhunter's Hatchet. Since most the time you play a weapon and then attack with it, you'd be getting 1 card from two of the three weapons seeing a lot of play. 5 mana 5/4 destroy a weapon and draw 1 or 2 cards occasionally is worse than a 2 mana 3/2 that can destroy a weapon occasionally in my opinion.

yeah that's the thing. if I get these cards it gets me closer to playing some of the other shaman stuff, too. that stuff interests me, but always been too far out of my reach. I already have the new hagatha, so I may just craft the hero card for now.

I have the barista as well, so maybe I can run her instead of shuderwok as she still manipulates battlecry minions and also gives me more fuel to re-fill the board.

do you have any examples of other shaman decks I could play with these cards please that are current?

EDIT: I had a look at Big Shaman. does it need Ysera? I had that card and dusted it as I have literally never used it, ever and had never found a use for it. Ala'kir seems like am amazing craft anyway and is a card I want to get at some point.

then theres the epic spells. I don't have any of them yet, but can start to collect them for later on.

Personally, I myself am not a huge fan of Big Shaman, but I've never gotten the chance to play it myself to really see if it's strong or not. I do not think that Y'sera is a must-have for the deck and is mainly there to beat up control decks as you'd get several copies of her out and just outvalue them. Al'Akir is kind of in a similar spot where it doesn't feel necessary and in my opinion, Walking Fountain is a significantly better card than it anyway.

As for replacing Shudderwock with the Barista, I feel Shudderwock is significantly better due to the fact you do not need them played at the same time to make them strong. Given the state of control anyway, Elysiana is one of the most important cards to have in the match-up and it is difficult to get a copy of her with the Barista as opposed to Shudderwock.

I have played a fair bit of control shaman this expansion so far (my list is the first spoiler) and I've had fairly good results with it. It does use some of the shaman epic spells but in my opinion, these aren't really a must have in the deck and you can replace them with just other non-battlecry draw cards. As for Omega Medic, this card is pretty important because it just adds an excessive amount of heal with the addition of Hagatha's Scheme and I'd recommend trying to have either the omega medics or Witch's Brew.

Sorry that these decks kind of stray away from the whole murloc theme, I just feel that murloc shaman is too fast to incorporate a 9 mana legendary that doesn't win the game. Hope this helps.

The deck looks fun, but it really doesn't feel like the proper deck for Shudderwock. I can't really say "Don't make it you won't have fun with it" because people have fun with different things, but just going off of the stats of the deck, playing the card makes you more likely to lose than win.

That being said, I've always liked Shudderwock, and both Hagatha, especially the hero card, are great and so if you do plan on playing any form of slowish shaman deck, I would recommend making both of them. I've had a good time playing with Control Shaman and due to them having a hero card while most classes do not, I do feel like Shaman is going to be a strong class for most this year and thus, be a safe class to craft stuff for.

posted a message on Miracle Mage, Part 8

The issue I have with Vex Crow is that it's a 4 mana minion and so it cannot be reduced by anything in the deck. This makes it an incredibly dead draw when storming off. It's the same reason why I do not think Archmage Antonidas is good in the deck because while it is pretty strong with all the cheap spells, it works horribly with Stargazer Luna and that messes with the whole feel I was trying to go with the deck.

As for Mana Wyrm it doesn't face the same issues as much as Vex Crow, but it does feel a bit slow compared to the rest of the deck. By the time the Mana Wyrm gets big, it either probably is already dead, will die to removal, or will just overkill the opponent and isn't' really needed to finish the game out.

posted a message on Is Elysiana banned from Specialist Format?

I haven't heard it being banned from official blizzard events. I do remember a french tournament banning the card for their tournament, however. If they do decide to suddenly ban Elysiana, they probably will let players resubmit their lists anyway.

Chef Nomi could be very interesting in the deck as an alternate win condition. I do think it can mess up miracle turns very easily which is a bad thing, but if we ignore this, the deck often storms out turn 6/turn 7 and so having another follow up to just seal the deal could be interesting.

That being said, I do not have Chef Nomi nor the dust to make him so unfortunately, I cannot test to see how it works out. If you can try it out, go for it and I'll be excited to hear the results but if not, then sorry that I cannot tell you how good it would be.

Questing Adventurer is probably better in every way to Mana Addict now that I look at it. I feel like the reason why I went with Mana Addict is that I always preferred using it in Miracle Rogue with Conceal, along with the card scaling much faster and I enjoy big flashy numbers more than smaller, albeit better numbers.

    Thanks for the catch!

posted a message on So, How is the new expansion for you?

So far I've been loving this new expansion. I've played a bunch of decks and a lot of them have stood out as being strong. I've had a lot of fun with miracle mage cough signature cough, control shaman, bomb warrior, and murloc shaman.

It's also just nice to not be so reliant on drawing keleseth by turn 2 to win, or having to defeat your opponent before they could slam gul'dan, or deal with like anything from Kobolds and Catacombs. Playing standard now just makes me hate Year of the Mammoth expansions to be honest.

I'm not a huge fan of Archmage Antonidas in this deck simply because drawing it when you are miracle off is one of the worst draws possible and while the card is good when you can replace your spells with a bunch of fireballs, it takes a bit of a set up and reduces the swing of your miracle turn, along with not really being needed when Mana Cyclone generates just as many spells for essentially free.

That being said, if you do want to add in Antonidas, I'd try to make the deck become more midrange with him being on the top end and less reliance on playing every spell in your entire deck quickly.

Stargazer Luna is without a doubt one the of strongest cards in the deck and in my opinion, mage as a whole right now. The issue I with finding a substitute for the card is just that nothing can really fit the purpose of the card. Gadgetztan is too slow, a second fireball can probably be useful for just a little bit of burn to finish off, Mana Wyrm can be useful as it's just another aggressive minion that becomes really powerful with spells.

Because of this, I wouldn't say she's absolutely irreplaceable, but she's one of the core cards that helps the deck win a lot more and I would recommend trying to get your hands on one eventually.

posted a message on What decks are FUN for you?

So far the decks I've tried are bomb warrior (because I thought that it would be a fun meme, only to realize it was an actual deck), murloc shaman, a control shaman, silence priest, a control priest and a miracle mage. Out of all the decks, the one I've probably had the most fun with is the miracle mage (cough signature cough).
