Disappointing that budget players can't be competitive in this week's brawliseum. You need a lot of the new expansion cards in order to have a chance this week. If it were a WILD brawliseum budget players would have a chance, but the recent rotations gutted most decks 

It's also pretty irresponsible to have a STANDARD brawliseum in the first week of an expansion, when counter decks have not yet been developed for the most-effective new archetypes. 

I'll just take my free pack, my 40 dust, and save for the adventure wings. 

I believe it's 15 packs total.

 Fair point... I think I'm just disappointed because the wait is longer than the usual two weeks. And I really do like the adventures & dungeon runs.

 its "free" in the sense that it doesn't cost me real-world money, but that requires saving up gold. That gold could be used to buy packs upon the expansion release, or be used to buy the entire adventure if it were available.

I suppose that's one of the ways that blizzard incentivizes the spending of real-world money on their game: "If you buy the bundles, you get to play the expansion right away.  If you want to play for free, you'll have to wait for the adventure". 

In the mean time, I'm forced to play out-of-date decks or try to build around what I get out of the first five or six packs that are offered via daily quests.

I hit my rank floor goal before the expansion dropped, so I guess it can be satisfying trying out new stuff in casual, but that will only be so entertaining for so long.

 Clearly you are making this up. Legendary cards don't appear in arena... ... ... ... at least not in my drafts :-)

My VERY FIRST RoS pack had The Boom Reaver. 

Granted we don't know if this card is actually good yet, (and I suspect that it is not), but it's nice to know my pity timer was instantly reset at the beginning of the expansion with 6 more free card packs to go.

 Don't even mention it. How many times I just want to add them after the game and ask them how the fuc* are they able to lose 2 games on 2,3 wins with some crazy deck and 2-3 great legendaries. 

 In their defense, they might just actually be bad at arena.  I don't know how many times I've had a great draft, to wind up going 2-3. I just don't have a feel for arena. 

Is the deck that you selected to view the cards with "converted" to wild? 

If I remember correctly, that option should be in the upper right corner, somewhere in the buttons above your hero portrait.
