I'm not sure why this even exists. The 1 mana mage and rogue cards may not be good but they at least make some sense (thief decks / mage decks that want to play spells that don't start in their deck or cheap spells) but I can't think of any reason you'd want a random demon instead of just picking a good demon from your collection. I guess it's just literal filler.
Also, often when I come into poll threads I have already voted for an option even though i've never been in the thread before. Is that a known forum bug?
It is supposed to be something that new players without a collection can just throw into a deck. That I all.
Renting an apartment in Molenbeek is gambling. Banning virtual loot and betting is ridiculous.
Banning virtual versions of a practice that has been illegal in real life makes perfect sense. Defining loot boxes as gambling makes less sense.
As far as I am aware they aren’t banning anything. Just requiring that they follow the same regulations as things that are practically very similar. Blizzard is choosing that remove gambling components rather than follow gambling rules.
Didn't know that. Is it because China requires companies to list the odds of getting a certain type of card to avoid gambling or? I remember reading a while ago that Blizzard did end up releasing the droprate of certain cards, but maybe I'm just going crazy.
Originally they released pretty much what is calculated in the wiki. But as I understand China said that wasn’t good enough so now you buy dust.
I doubt that would fly for any western government, though. It is too blatant.
I'm pretty sure hearthstone is not going to change just because there's a difference in terms of how packs and loot boxes are perceived. Like sure they are both basically the same thing, with packs actually being more viscous in terms of how important the rare drops are, but going after packs in hearthstone only would spiral more things out of control. Going after packs is basically the same as going after any card game, and in the 25~ years in which most card games have been around, this isn't really an issue. Granted this could be because of a secondary market that Hearthstone lacks, but I still don't think they are going to go after packs the same way.
Not to mention of course if belgium bans buying packs, that literally puts people that live in belgium in a disadvantage if they were to want to get cards faster.
Sure it’s something to do but the only reward after solving 100 puzzles is a card back...really?! Not worth my time scratching my brain to solve these. Maybe if the reward was better I wouldn’t look up all the solutions. Also having to hit ok on the error message 20 times after each boss is super annoying.
Then don’t play it. For all the people that whine about there not being a good reward, that is exactly why. If there was a valuable reward it would just frustrate people to waste their time. Since there isn’t a valuable reward, you can play it if you want or not play it if you don’t without losing anything.
Most likely with the most controlling hero cards, if you get them online you are already in a very secure position. With Rexar it is played earlier and takes time to make an impact.
You will notice the played WR is a lot lower than the deck WR. If you get it into play t is more of a last ditch effort to win a game already on the line. Compared to Valera with a low deck WR and high played WR, so if you get to it you probably are surviving aggro and will most likely win.
Also it wouldn’t reduce aggro, they benefit too. The reason aggro is always so common is that it is easier to play and results in quicker games. As long as the ladder is about the number of games played people will want to play fast games.
The direction changes over time. Just like the people involved change over time. The Warsong Commander nerd was nearly three years ago lots of things have changed. Also, freeze mage was nerfed not because it was a OTK, but because the same basic deck had been powerful the entire history of the game, that is more what the HOF was intended to do, force classes from their comfort zone
The HOF is a necessary idea if you don’t want to totally eclipse the power level of the evergreen set to get people to change things up. Sure Azur Drake isn’t the autoinclude in most decks anymore, while other five drops pretty much are, but the replacements will only be here for so long before they disappear. Now I would like to see rotations go both ways, though. Some cards return from the HOF or some come back from wild.
The thing is that T5 is not consistent in any of their decisions.
Quest Mage, Uther OTK, Mecha'Thun, Malygos, Topsy Turvy, Inner Fire, Cubelock, etc are fine with Blizzard and yet Grim Patron wasn't fine back in the day?
Ice Lance & Conceal were rotated from standard due to the decks always being an option as a viable deck each meta and yet cards like Mana Wyrm, Divine Favor, or Flame Imp aren't rotated for being a common tool in Tempo Mage, aggro paladin, and Zoolock (all of which are also decks that have persisted for almost every meta)?
Seems like some decks are intentionally targetted for a specific reason and yet others are ignored despite fitting the exact same criteria.
Also the concept of there being an "evergreen set" disappeared as soon as the first HoF was announced. Evergreen was supposed to be insurance that none of the classic and basic set would ever rotate. You can't have a concept of such a set if you're also rotating cards out of that insured set. You'd have to completely redfine what evergreen means.
Keep in mind these decisions are made over time. Personnel and opinions change. Maybe there was a shift in the team’s ideas and goals.
There is also more to some things than the obvious, for example Warsong Commander was already on Blizzard’s shit list because it made it risky to design powerful low attack minions (or even less powerful ones). In general charge was just broken.

If there are any lower rarity cards you need in thisnyear’s Expansions get them first. If you are only missing good legendaries (ie you won’t get many you really don’t want) or have no lower rarity cards you want them yes it makes sense
Charge should have a place. But it should be a very small place (Big finishers, or a crappy card that can enable a combo). Rush has replaced it for most uses, but we might see it come back from time to time if Leroy or not are removed from standard and those roles open up.
Notably, having a big finisher with it makes sense. Yeah Leroy gets annoying, but I do think there is a place in the game for it (but probably rotate in and out periodically) or for minions that you have to work to get benefit from (like Charged Devilsaur).
The other issue right now with all the mana cheating mechanics even the big finishers that ordinarily do not see play (like King Krush) could become broken.

Blizzard doesn’t sell packs in China any more.
They sell dust. And give out packs as a bonus.

It was less that the deck was bad than that other Druid decks just eclipsed it.

From the start the more complex the effect of a card, the higher the rarity. Simple cards are usually common while very complex cards are legendary.
Meme decks usually rely on complex cards that do whacky things. Whereas a zoo deck just wants stats to beat your face down.

Through the can’t be targeted mech on it and you have an absurd wall against all but the biggest board clears.

Depends on if you want to play it or not.
