The sheer amount of whining I see here is absurd.   Players are commenting on valid observations and getting gaslighted by folks ( I can only assume ) are getting paid to promote.   I was enjoying Mercenaries.  It's now day 16 of playing for 6+ hours per day + buying 50 packs, welcome bundle & 2 legendary bundles.  No Mercenary is maxxed & I am Farming Winterspring 80+ times daily trying to find enough Mysterios Strangers to progress.   This is ridiculous.

Mercenaries is a mobile phone, brainless, no fun, no effort cash grab and yet you still don't understand why? Go play your stupid mode and leave us "haters" be.

There is no possible reason you should have spent $400 on Mercenaries packs in the first place. With no coin exchange system in place, even a rudimentary acquaintance with arithmetic would tell you you're going to end up with a huge surplus of coins.

 When a system put in place to make money doesn't provide value to keep people spending it's broken. Thank you for your opinion on how bad I am with money. Let's compare portfolios, bank accounts, and cash flow.

 Actually, Mercenaries are great for F2P players. It is way easier to get all mercs maxed than, for example, get all cards in classic Hearthstone back in 2013

I purchased around 30 packs with gold (nothing else) ... got a diamond Jaina Proudmore (I also have the basic version) ... which is a pity because even though it looks great, I never use her and she's still languishing at lvl 15.

I was kinda bummed when I got the diamond, because I would have preferred to get a legendary card I did not yet own (say Gul'dan or Rexxar, characters I actually like).

Ah well ... you win some, you lose some ... same can be said for your situation.

Same. Very disappointed. Such wasted coins & resources. They should introduce dust mechanics to solve this.

So I have spent over $400 on packs thus far including two pre release bundles. Everything was acceptable up until getting all the Merc characters... Then Attempting to level up characters and get some different Merc Hero skins. I can tell you I haven't cracked one diamond skin portrait in over 300 packs, I still have over 30 hero skins that I have not gotten, and I continue to get legendary, epic, and rare Merc coins for characters that are already maxed out, while others get very few coins. On the characters that are maxed and have tons of coin, you can't dust them or even spend them on their other portraits. The system is busted. It is not operating the way hearthstone packs do and the current system review rating I give is "Rip Off". I Truly hope they do something to compensate those of us who have wasted money in some way that at least let's us convert our hours and money wasted getting useless character coins into something playable! 

Recommend waiting till they fix the system to buy any more packs once you have all the Mercs! 

So, I maxed out  a couple of heroes. While there is nothing to spend coin on, they still clutter the reward pool. Why on earth would anyone ever want to spend money to buy packs and risk buying nothingness? It is annoying to see another reward where 80% goes to the 1 hero, meaning more time wasted again and again and again. It sucks.

I read elsewhere that in future there might be something to spend those useless, superfluous coins on. "In future", "might be"... I was hoping maxed out heroes would leave the pool, or at least for the coins to be replaceable by something else. But nah,  a big downer once more. I do no longer feel compelled to continue playing, knowing more and more of my time spent to get coins will be useless (n terms of 0 progress). I play for the here and now, not for wasting time hoping in the distant future where there might be changed something. What are your thoughts?

EDIT: They also keep polluting the camp fire (visitors), meaning more useless coins, less usable things, less value of camp fire. Take my advise: postpone maxing heroes as long as possible if you value, well, value... Geez.
