posted a message on Arena Class Buffs/Nerfs Out Today

    Man,

I'm so surpirsed at the stats today, Warlock now back to #1, with Warrior, Mage, Rogue follows.  Hunter plummet to #8 with 47.8% such a big step down from #2.

The nerf really nails it now.  I just drafted a new Rogue deck, definitely many worse choices than before.  I guess now Blizz just need to up the cards quality for Shaman, Druid, and... Hunter again and we may have the perfect 50% Arena.

Darius seems better for me too, can snow ball and get you board early.

Anyone feel this nerf yet? Is the big 3 lower the card quality picks yet? I just draft yesterday so I feel it still the same.

posted a message on F2P, how many packs do you usually open each expansion?
    BQuote from RAGEdarky >>

Usually I'm opening around 60 packs after expansion release and then up to 30-40 until next expansion comes out. It's not a problem to be above rank5 and be able to compete well in tournaments with such amount of cards (keeping in mind you're always dusting rotating out cards).

May be I don't dust rotating cards so I don't have that much extra dusts, and having 100 packs will give more legendaries and epics too.

    Quote from iandakar >>

Because you're opening 60-80 packs every expansion, crafting the legendaries you need from that expansion, and repeating for each expansion.

For example, I crafted the hunter DK during Frozen Throne (I had enough dust for 2 legendaries and opted for Rogue and Hunter as I had opened Mage and Warlock.  I didn't bother with Priest's legendary and opted out of having Raza Priest at the time), I opened a golden Kathrena during Kobolds.  King Krush I had found a long time ago and opted not to dust him even when he was useless just because.

Houndmaster I crafted in Boomsday since there wasn't much else to craft then.

I don't have zul'jin but as I had crafted High Priest Thekal and Oondasta it wasn't exactly because I COULDN'T craft him.  Just not sure he has staying power once rotation hits.

60-90 packs, along with a non-horrible ability in Arena, and knowing to wait until you are sure what you are doing before crafting and being **VERY** hesitant to dust anything in your collection results in a lot of good choices for an established F2Per.  Being able to craft tier 1 decks is among the easiest.

What's hard is if you are going the 'for fun' route.  You CAN'T just pull a tier list and find what everyone is playing (or what works against them).  You need to figure out what decks are fun for you and, in many cases, self-build those decks all the time hoping you don't craft the wrong cards (for example, I'm regretting crafting Crystalizers as they seem to oddly be not good in a healadin deck O.o)

So you will craft about 2 legendaries per each expansion, and then saving dust for the next expansion so you could craft 2 more for each expansion right?

That may be a smart way to do and enjoy being competitive, I'm just not sure I will have 3200 dust collect for every 4 months.   I only dust cards that I have extra, I don't dust even what people may say an useless cards, who know, it may be useful one day.

But counting legendaries aside, now day deck also run a lot of epics as well, and those cost a lot of dust too, so aside from 3200 dust to craft 2 legendaries, I may need like 4 more epics so another 1600 dust to get a good deck.  That amount too 4800 dust every 4 months, is that doable?

Man, how come the rank 5 - 1 is so many among F2P?  Can you guys share your point of view? How can you build a tier 1 deck with 60 - 80 packs open?

Yeah, if everything scares you, just do your dalies, get in get out, once you get more cards and new expansion, when everything is fresh, come back into the game fullswing.

posted a message on F2P, how many packs do you usually open each expansion?

For me, I have opened each expansions around 60 - 70 packs, including all bonus free packs and gold promotion from Blizzard.  That usually net me around 4 legendaries + 1 free legendary.

Since I'm saving dust and not craft much, that has got me to build some near tier 2 decks, no where near competitive enough to go ranking high, good enough for me to build some fun decks though.  So I usually end up around rank 19 and mostly just play fun deck with friends.

How about you guys, F2P, how many packs do you usually open?  Do you feel it gives you enough to be competitive?  Do you ladder high or just play cassual?

posted a message on I just opened Baku, should I join the dark side?
    Quote from Bee >>

There's nothing that replaces Level Ups and Vilespines, those are core cards, ESPECIALLY the level ups.

Having Baku doesn't make you a Sith Lord right away, it seems like you will be an apprentice.

Also it's not that Baku is too OP.. in your case it seems like you are a f2p player that just doesn't have any decks that can compete with aggro, which is why you can't beat it, big difference here.

Yeah, I'm F2P, and the decks that I can build for fun typically lose to super aggro deck.  It is when I see so many of the same Hero power click buttons many times that it annoys me, if they play cards for aggro, it would not make me that mad since they still have to RNG to get that card in their hand, but every turn hero power click is un-card-game like.

I don't intend to replaces Level Up and Vilespine, just thinking of anything that I can still put in that that still make the deck viable, unless you are saying without those cards, no matter what I put in, the % win rate will be <50% nevertheless.

    Quote from AdmiralBW >>

For Odd pally consider double Stormwind Champion, Frostwolf Warlords, Witch's Cauldron, Viscous Fledgling, or Cobalt Scalebane.

Thanks man, I haven't thought of Frostwolf and Vicious bird, those can work.

If you enjoy the taste of cookies with the touch of enemies salt. The dark side is the perfect choice for you.

BTW give burn odd mage a chance, it's kinda cheap and a lot of fun. Check Dekksters YT channel for a deck list. It's pretty consistent. =)

Thanks, I checked that out, I don't have Stargazer LunaCinderstorm, and Pyromaniac.  Without a card draw machine like Luna, can the deck still winable?

posted a message on I just opened Baku, should I join the dark side?

No, this thread is not 8 months old, this month is December, don't go anywhere :P.

Why Baku now?  Because I have a pity timer legendary on Witchwood packs, so I opened the last few try to get something and voila.

Story is, I absolutely detest Baku Deck, I can write an essay about how broken it is and it probally got me an A+ in English literature, PHD level.  My winrate against Baku deck is only like 10% or less, to the point that I have a strong feeling of pressing Concede right after seeing the animation.

But now, I own the card, suddenly, all the powerful images (of how I have been destroyed) come to me, I feel like the Force is with me.  Now I understand the lure of the dark side, feeling so tempting to join the Baku team.

So if I join the darkside, I look up the dark matters and I have a few questions:

For odd Paladin, I don't have Level Up and Corridor Cripper, what cards can I use to replace these 4 epics?

For odd Rogue, I don't have Vilepine Slayer, what cards can I use instead?

Odd warrior and odd mage, I lack so many cards so I won't even ask.

    Quote from Pullaaa >>

respect for not having any druid legendaries, the whole class is cancer

To be honest, I didn't even realize this until you pointed that out, Blizz must want me to steer clear of most tier 1 decks.

    Quote from Marega >>

My condolences. Being forced to play hunter must feel like hell. Discard might he the first tine5its viable but i wouldnt get my hopes up just yet

I guess you make a joke here :P, I do enjoy playing hunter since I like to play with beast synnergy.  Discard was just a fun deck to play for me since I got Soularium, but now that I get Jeklin, it is definitely my go to deck for me when playing friendly, really fun play when it hits high roll.

    Quote from EternalHS >>

lol bads leaving salty comments about druid and hunter :P

I'm not f2p but for some reason Blizzard always gives me every paladin legendary whenever a new expansions launches. I've used to have all of them before DEing a golden Bolvar (the worse one)

I have Bolvar too, but I can't bring myself to DE him ( or any legendaries), I created some divine shield decks just for him and try to play, only for fun, never can be competitive, sadly.

    Quote from Xynot >>

Don't bother with Zul'jin, he's a meme - you have everything needed to make deathrattle hunter, still the strongest hunter build in the meta.

I have to disagree though, Zuljin is really strong, I used to play spell hunter for a brief time and I can see the explosive turn when Zuljin replay all that spell.  It is like the Hardonox / Guldan effect, one turn swing board.

    Quote from Gunnolf >>

You should play discolock in wild ~ deck is pretty good and even made it to Legend!

wow cool, I feel discolock in wild would be stronger, I haven't touched wild yet, may be now is a good time to put my mind in it.  Does the 3 cards I have enough for the core standard cards to put in wild discolock? Cause I don't clutchmother zavas, bloodqueen lanathef or the 2 epics soulwarden yet.

Since I'm a F2P, I'm at the merci of Blizzard to RNG opening the legendary each expansions, and I have a vague feeling of what Blizzard told me what class I belong to year after year:

Blizzard tell me to play Hunter

Now I just need Zuljin to complete my turn 4 to turn 10 :D

And this is another clear sign from Blizzard about which archtype suits me:

Any signs like these for you guys?

posted a message on So most arena players don't play constructed?
    Quote from Helweek >>

I play close to the same amount of wild as I do arena, I don't play standard much. I have a 7.3 win average in boomsday, and ranked 10. It's one of those things where if I focused on 1 I would probably score higher on the fake numbers, but it's a game. I want to have fun.

My goal may be one day is to get 7 wins average and rank 5 every month.  That would provide almost close to the highest rewards possible per time spending.
