Im rank 9 now with this deck and have used it the past ten days. And have had little opposition. Ive been facing tempo mage aggro paladin and midrange hunter and I have a pretty good winrate against these. Control priest and control warrior are tough but all in all Im fairing pretty well with this deck. It is definitely not a low skill deck though.
I've been playing this deck for the last week or so and I really like it. I was surprised how well the death lords are, since even vs control the summoned card usually loses their battle cry. I did switch out neptulon for de boom. Just cuz I like him better. All in all a fantastic deck so far ( only rank 11 atm). Though takes a lot of skill to play.
160$ . . . way to much IMO. I regret the last 60 dollars! I do have almost half of the legendaries now (dusted Ysera, Golden Beast, Cho, and Millhouse) :D.
Id keep him. He might not be useful now but as the meta shifts then he becomes extremely useful. Just be patient and wait for Ysera. I think in the end you will regret it.
The fun par is to choose one class and commit to it. Just get all classes to level 10 to get all basic cards and a basic feeling of how they work. Just choose the one you like.
For a feel for the class, I think the best way is just playing as them. A few tips to help though are . . .
1. Don't disenchant cards until you really get a feel for the game. For example, I thought that I hated paladin early on, so I disenchanted all my cards of theirs . . . later I realized I like paladin so I am still trying to get all the ones I DEed.
2. Look at some of the recent highly rated decks on this site, many have in depth strategies to the deck as well as explain what cards are good for that particular deck/class.
3. At Liquidhearth they have a lot of great guides for nearly every class, as well as tips for playing, best basic cards and so forth. Here is a link to the first in that series.
For the average player, luck and "Paying 2 Win" completely overshadows any skill you might have. Trump is able to compete and succeed without P2W, but it's an uphill battle even for him and he's a top 1% player.
How is this fair?
You say that these people have legendaries and have played a lot longer than you, how do you know that they bought their cards? You don't. Many people play this without investing money. With any card game you will have to play and collect and overtime your collection will grow, you can't blame people for using a legendary that they got in a pack or blame someone who has played this for 3 more months than you. As for non-legendary decks, zoo and control hunter are very powerful decks that are some of the best and dont run legendaries. Try those out for the time being as you wait to get more cards.
The last two packs I got I got two legendaries, and those packs were not bought . . . praying to the RNG gods for help is also another solution!
Loved this post! Hopefully all can watch this so that the amount of forum topics of "Its no fun, I could play [fill in the blank deck] and faceroll to legend, but thats just stupid" will decrease.
He's basically an 0/4 taunt that could draw you cards. He's not great, but he's not as bad as people think. It's a shame he's not like Mana Tide Totem and guarantees cards at the beginning of every turn...
He's a solid early game tempo play though as usually your opponent will expend a removal card + something else to get rid of him quickly.
I definitely agree to this. I think you should try him out. If you get him in the early game then he will act as a removal magnet.
I have been ranking with Mill Druid and Randuin Wyrnn. Last Season I got to rank 4 and this season I am at rank 9 with little game time applied and the win streak is realz.
Who else is ranking with Troll decks? What Rank are you?

Succubus . . . works both ways :D

It will be more like Ancestral Spirit, you get a copy of that minion if it was played as a card, not with the buffs.

Actually Shaman is . . . :D

I can make cairne or alakir . . . which is more necessary for the deck? I have everything else.

Decks like this make me realize I suck at this game, cuz trying with a non-troll deck I can only get to rank 10 (Ive only tried this month).

I like this card much better than rivendale. More like a one shot death rattle effect!

True but Alakir is 8 and rebirth is 2. 99.9% of the time, that late in the game you will not have two totems survive a round.
