The omega card is kind of powerful.. not on its own per se, but it’s a really strong pull from dr boom hero discover, or the 1 mana spell

IambicAvenger posted a message on New Mage Card Reveal: Dragon's FuryPosted in: NewsWith the addition of Dragon's Fury, it looks like the "big spell" Mage archetype being pushed in this set would be very effective response to token or tempo decks - just keep using big AOE spells like Dragon's Fury, Flamestrike, and Blizzard to manage the board into the late game, and then close with Dragoncaller Alanna once your opponent is out of major threats. That said, the deck would probably be very vulnerable to Razakus Priest and Jade Druid decks, so it's success would be highly reliant on what decks are defining the meta.

freekvd posted a message on Synergy Picks in the Arena are Being RemovedPosted in: NewsI never understood these synergy picks. Often it's not the synergy cards you want early on, it's their katalysts. You don't want turn 1 Netherspite Historian or Nightbane Templar, you want a dragon. You don't want a turn 1 Ethereal Arcanist, you want a secret. You don't want Meanstreet Marshal or Primalfin Champion, you want a good buff.
People don't draft the synergy cards unless they're good cards on their own, like Drakonid Operative or really easy to pull off like Unbound Elemental.

Cursed_Bruthor posted a message on The Wild Heroic Tavern Brawl is This Week!Posted in: NewsI'd love to play my first heroic brawl, but wild is a bit too whacky for me as I don't have the practice there.
Looking forward to the streamers going wild on this one though (pun intended) ;)

czapejro posted a message on Best Un'Goro Standard Decks for End of Season Ladder ClimbingPosted in: Newswhy not? there are 20k+ legends this month on the EU server alone and I'd say that players who get to legend are way more likely to actually visit sites as this one so 1k legend players in a poll actually sounds pretty likely to me

Almagnus1 posted a message on Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack PurchasesPosted in: NewsAs someone who has been around since Open Beta and decided to keep my full playset of all the sets (with the exception of Un'Goro for non-Hearthstone related reasons), I see no problem with letting others who haven't been around as long as I have be able to purchase packs of the Wild sets, and also buy the Wild adventures.
The newer players need better catch up mechanisms.

Ebonbreaker posted a message on Paladin Quest Revealed: The Last KaleidosaurPosted in: NewsSo far so bad. The problem is that, unless this expansion brings some new, we do not have much cheap buff spells.
Six is still less than seven, but other quests seem far easier to complate. Also having 6 cheap spells (of which not all are competetive) each 2x means that we will need expectedly half-of-our-deck to do it.
By the way, Galvadon is the best legendary and will make PALADIN great even when obtainable only lategame.

Tbh, the adventures should've just given more packs. Like 5 packs per expansion, then you'd lose out on 200g instead of 400g like it was before. Right now we lose 700g. That's even worse!

Some of the cards previewed earlier are pretty good. Also I want to experiment with the shadow sculptor + auctionneer miracle rogue decks.

The goal is not to make these decks unplayable but to make them less oppressive so other decks have a fair chance. If any of these decks remain problematic, they could go with another round of nerfs. I prefer that over something like making warsong commander completely useless (please change her to 2 mana).

It means the Chinese government doesn't know what card you picked. Just kidding. They do.

Any name ideas for our new Warrior Dragon?

It's not a quest, it's a side quest.
Side quests are not supposed to be difficult to achieve. Most of them will be achieved naturally without paying attention. The thing about sidequest is that the effect is delayed until X happens. Depending on your deck or playstyle, X will be completed quickly or more slowly. You want these effects to happen as soon as possible.

I guess it's just near impossible to kill them at once, so you'll almost certainly have to play it multiple times rather than just get lucky from the first run and never play it again. It would also allow for dedicated players to try and beat it in a single run as a personal achievement (I hope there's a way to reset their HP to full).

It can be played in the same deck, but there are many decks that this can be played in and cutlass can't. You don't need weapon buffs for this card and you don't need as many steal cards. You're also not relying on a specific card with otherwise dead buffs in your hand and you don't get hard countered by weapon removal. Cutlass is also a tempo loss when you first play it.
