The most infuriating deck ever is by far old school mill rogue. Its literally a coin flip, if you land vs control you win, if not you lose. Playing control warrior and seeing them play a coldlight means you INSTANTLY lost. Theres no amount of luck, Skill, bullshit or tech cards that could change that.

I wouldn't say it's the most infuriating deck ever, but yeah, as someone who plays slow decks, my concede finger starts itching whenever a rogue opponent pops up in Wild.  And as soon as I see a Coldlight, I'm outta there.  That's a 100% loss rate for my decks, so no reason to sit through it.

posted a message on Poll: Should we keep the dual class Arena around?

I like it, but the arena playerbase is too small to divide it up.  I'd rather Blizzard have more 'special' arena weeks like this, preferably at least once a month. And it doesn't have to be dual class.  They could have a week where wild cards are included again, or Naxx cards are included, or spell choices are higher-chance, or some random constant effect is always in play, etc.

    Quote from PsyyKik >>

Blizzard really need to introduce a quest that rewards you with a free arena ticket. I too have noticed the standard of play in the arena has dropped considerably during the festival - what bothers me is that there are that many players out there who don't play hearthstones best mode, and so play so very poorly.

This is the only explanation for the misplays I have been seeing, all the way up to 6 wins, where finally the standard seems to pick up again. To me its a real shame there are so many players who don't bother with arena, the new quest reward would help a lot with that.

People aren't going to bother with arena if the 'sharks' of arena prevent them from going over 3 wins. The success of the good arena players limits how popular that mode will ever be, IMO.

People like me who are struggling in arena will drop back out as soon as the free tickets are gone, so don't worry, you'll be dealing with a small pool of players like yourself soon enough. I don't think you'll find that as enjoyable.

posted a message on Standard Arena is not fun.

Played a few more runs, not seeing much improvement.  Got a 5 and 4-win run, but also just had an 0-3, my first one ever.  I was ok with averaging 3 wins. It's not fun to average 1-2 wins like I am now.  So, I'm out.  Will be curious to see how the people who like this arena feel once more guppies like me drop out, and only the sharks are left to cannibalize themselves.

I'm not going to argue whether the new arena is better or worse.  Personally, though, I'm not sure it works for me.  I don't play arena a lot, but I used to average 4 wins - not great, but not awful - with occasional spikes to 8-9 wins.  I was excited by the announced arena changes, but in the five runs I've made with these changes, I've gone 1-2 wins each time.  Some of that is undoubtedly my play, but some of it is also undoubtedly my drafts, which have not featured many good options.  Add to that the fact that my losses have largely not been competitive, and I think I'm about to bow out of arena if nothing changes by my tenth run. It's not for me anymore.

posted a message on Tricksy Thieving Rogueses

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. My home-brewed burglary decks have been pretty terrible due to a scarcity of cards in my collection, and due to my general lack of experience with Rogue.  Following this (with a few exceptions - traded out the Acidic Ooze for a second Agent, traded out the owl and tomb spider for two Assassinates, and traded out the second Huckster (which I don't own) for a Shaku (who's finally been shining for me)), I've been doing much better.  Granted, I'm only playing in ranks 19-20 right now, but it's nice to have a burglary rogue that's even slightly competitive.

posted a message on Search uploaded collection by card rarity key words?

I'd like to be able to filter my uploaded collection to show (for example) just my legendary cards, or just my epic cards.  Right now, if I search on the term 'legendary', I'm only shown cards that actually have the word 'legendary' in their text.  If I'm missing an obvious way to do this, let me know.

    Quote from SchruteBucks >>

I've most enjoyed the PvP gradual deck building brawls.

Agreed.  There's still some randomness to it, but I prefer brawls where I don't have to deal with pre-building a deck, and the Discover brawls were the best of those.

Arena run with quite average warlock deck. Managed to hit 7 wins - pretty good.

Next opponent - rogue. Goes all face since turn 1. By turn 5 I manage to clear the board. He drops Assassins Blade and hits my face. I've still got 18 hp.

Next turn: poison, prep, oil, hit face, blade flurry, evis

    K

I'd like to see Blade Flurry nerfed so that it only affects minions, personally.
