Decent 7-3 Midrange deck. Offers "box" cards, stability, defensive options.
Synergy: Barov doesn't kill your quest-buffed recruits : aura effects > "set to 1".
Patches is just efficient deck-thinning, subs: pen-flinger/lost in the jungle.
Stewart can be subbed by Kangor/Stand Against Darkness or Prince Liam for fun.
I had one game where I completed the quest twice, played second Cariel= 2x 5/5 dude wall :D

big shaman to win from 2-3 tries (saved-HP between runs makes it TOO EASY imo, but I'm glad to be done w this nonsense)

I made some improvements:
1. Curator package: OWL, PRIM.DRAKE, ORACLE 
2. Brewmasters: Never be forced to wait for second Deathspeaker again! Remember this combo costs 7 mana, not 6.
3. Reduced deathrattle "drawers" to 3, adding Thalnos (useful with second defile, coil) 
4. Abyssal Enforcer > Hellfire. 

Mulligan: keep only combo pieces and Curator; against Shaman keep one clear

Save time: ALT+F4 when you pull off the combo, then start Hearthstone again so you can begin your next game without waiting for the animations. Thanks to Don Cachopo in comments for the hint, I tried it and it works!

Reminder : Defile is programmed to repeat a maximum of 15 times, so with 2 juggles that's 30 dmg (not counting any juggles that land on enemy minions before defile clears them) Get more minions on your board before you start the combo if you think it won't be enough.

This is my off-region hemet warrior list. Despite my limited collection, I believe my list is quite tight, especially in the "late" game. )

You can also constantly cast Unstable Evolution and keep going face with each new evolution. You can silence deathrattles like Kangor. You can use cards like Scarab Egg far a cheap and efficient wall. You can have an infinite wall with Armorsmith and Lab Patron.

Actually, you can do a whole lot more stuff than the two things you suggested, especially since you are almost guaranteed to see people just playing their Standard (i.e. Plague Death Knight) or autocomplete decks in your first 5 games, letting you try out whatever seems cool to you.

Uhm, did anyone else get the, "You forgot an award" popup after the card changes, and felt confused?  What does that even mean?

Runi, Time Explorer has 7 unique locations it can Discover. All of them cost 3 and have 2 uses: 

• Outskirts of Lordaeron (Choose a minion. Destroy all minions with less Attack than it)
• Wind Rider Roost (Summon a random 3-cost minion. Give it Charge)
• Xenedar (Your next Battlecry this turn triggers twice)
• The Nighthold (Cast 3 random Paladin secrets)
• Valdrakken (Get 2 random Dragons with +2/+2)
• Ruins of Korhune (Draw 2 cards. Swap their costs)
• Temple of Earth (Choose a friendly minion. Summon a copy of it with +3 health and Taunt that can't attack)

Chromie, Timehopper has 4 different Epochs. All have Cast when Drawn:

• Opening the Dark portal (get 2 random Legendary minions)
• Battle for Mount Hyjal (Give your minions +2/+2)
• Escape from Durnholde (Get 2 random spells)
• Culling of Stratholme (Deal 2 damage to all enemies)

Finally, the Scarab Lord's Gong has the text "After this takes damage, fill your opponent's board with 1/1 Scarabs." Keep in mind the Gong is summoned for your opponent, so you get the Scarabs. 

Balance aside, this is a good change from a flavor perspective. Paladins in WoW have Auras as a core mechanic, and Secrets were never a great fit thematically.

Anyone struggling with Diablo easy suggestion just use Steam Cleaner on him after he transforms it will destroy his entire deck making the challenge super easy. I just beat him with Control Priest just holding onto steam cleaner when he transformed

I used this deck to kill him first try. Its some sort of hunter deck. Not optimal and I only put in Lor'themar because I was afraid I wouldn't have enough damage. A really good trick is right before you kill the Wanderer form (and he has a relatively empty hand) play Mister Mukla so that when he turns into Diablo, he doesn't get an amazing hand.
