Burn Shaman was my most played deck so as someone who was about it before it was cool I don't feel AS bad for exploiting a bug. I do laugh at how bad and dumb this game is everytime I blow someone up though. lmao.
Schooling is actually an amazing card, and you should run two.
It is one of the best removal cards for Shaman.
It can be played proactively to just not float mana.
It can provide bodies for Biolume in burn shaman.
I thought it wouldn't be good, like most people, but after running it the felxable and usefulness is just so good.
Also experimenting with Florist (a neutral 2 mana 2/3 that reduces the cost of a nature spell by one at end of turn) Not amazing, but it's solid stats and targets the card burn shaman is built around in a positive way. It has won me a game or two, but mostly the reduction hasn't been as impactful as I thought it would.
The Freeze Mechanic prevents the character from carrying out a normal attack, but it does not block any abilities, and if those abilities cause the character to attack it can still attack that way.
The problem today is discovering Mr. Smite, next expansion it might be a problematic epic or rare. The problem is overpowered cards that are a win condition in themselves.
Burn shaman is better because the matchup spreads are very similar but the benefit is that it smashes druid a lot more consistently. Burn shaman has all the freeze ability without the hyper aggro we are trying to move on from.
PS. Dont post 28 old card decks after a new expansion cuz its going to get downvotes regardless of quality!
I play a Burn Shaman as well that I really like and actually has like 1% better WR now that I've been playing in Legend+
It's a meta call for sure. I still think in the d5-Legend meta that I was seeing, and I imigine it still it is Elemental is a blunt instrument that blasts through Pirate Warrior, Mech Mage, and Druid
I think the Mech Mage match is real good for Shaman either way, Pirate Warrior is much better with Elemental Shaman and the Druid match up Elemental is working better for me, Burn in theory can go over the top easier after Druid pops off, but Elemental wins on turn 6-8 before Druid ever gets a chance to pop off, and in practice as Druid players get smarter, they can set up turns where they get 40+ health my Burn Shaman is not doing great against them buy Elemental is doing well.
I think Burn is better in a more diverse meta, it's a more flexable deck, and better against Paladin and Demon Hunter
At the time of 81% WR it was from when I started playing the Deck D4 rank to when I hit Legend and that was 16 games, 13-3
I'm currently hovering in the 2k-3k Legend Rank and still holding a high WR 67%. 26-13
It has a VERY good WR against the most played Meta Decks in order or easiest to hardest Mech Mage, Naga Mage, Pirate Warrior, Druid. It is an auto win against Shellfish Priest as well to point where Priest will literally insta concede sometimes when they see Shaman pop up as the opponent.
So if your going for Legend I think this deck will crush at the 70-80% range cus you're mostly seeing tryhard no brains on Mech Mage and Pirate Warrior. Rogue, DH, and Pally can be dicer matchups so when they get back in the meta it's not solid a stomp deck.
But I am real HYPE on it, cus it feels sleeper OP, no one is playing it, no one is teching against it, and it hits a real sweet spot against the meta decks right now.
Pirate Rogue ended up much harder to figure out than other decks, but I believe it is the strongest tempo deck out there! Some important notes:
Shadowstep is bait here. This is the most shocking realization I had, a huge reason why ppl are having a hard time with the archetype. Most of the pirates in the deck have static effects, not enough battlecries/combos to abuse it.
Azsharan Vessel is a sleeper. Preparation + Vessel + Gone Fishing puts 12/12 stats WITH STEALTH on board on turn 4 or 3 with coin, only slow mage/priest/warlock can answer this play. 99% of the time the stealthed pirates survive, Southsea Captain comes down the next turn and the opponent just concedes, this happened A LOT. If w/o the combo just prep + vessel is a lot of value and stealthed pirates in the midgame put a lot of pressure.
Crabatoa is king. The King of all Tempo Kings. Love this card so much.
I haven't tried this deck, and I'm sure it's an inconsistant combo but man when Pirate Rogue gets poisonous on Pufferfist it makes me want to throw my computer through a window. lol.
I only play Shaman. I tried to get Quest with Queen Azshara random spells to work. It didn't but I did Pyro someone twice in the face for 1 mana that was cool.
I'm currently playing Legend in the 2-3k range and alternate these 2 decks which I'm pretty hype about cus they both work pretty well
I feel like Elemental Shaman is sleeper OP deck right now. It can Hard Win against Mech Mage, Naga Mage, Shellfish Priest and Pirate Warrior. I was a favorable match up against Druid. That's most the meta right now.
This Burn Shaman is the other deck I play it has well above a 50% WR as well, I thought the Quenn Bio combo with Ring that give you a 1 mana spell would be good, but literally don't think I've used that combo once. LMAO! Queen can be cut don't know what for but one copy of Bio actually has won me some games. The Aucitoneer Hammers are fantastic to keep tempo with some of the more aggro stuff out there right now.
Not the most exciting deck almost no new cards, but if you just want degenerate wins it does do that. LMAO!
5-1 against Warrior. If you curve out you actually beat them on board until they play ship at which point you start your Freeze Chain. You have Hex for Nellys ship on Lilypad and Snowfall Maccaw has always been the best counter to Pirate Warrior.
I am Legend Rank 2676 currently, and 22-8 71% WR with this deck, and most the time I lose it's just cus I drew all the spells upfront, or never drew Snowfall in a match where I had to have it to win. It only loses to bad RNG basically.
Turns out Elemental Shaman just beats every deck in the meta right now If you curve you win board against the other aggro decks You aggro down Priest and Druid and have Hex on a 5/6 if you need it A lot of decks are board based right now so if you can roll a freeze you auto a win
I went 1-7 with a more traditional list but found a Burn Shaman that works for me. I had 2 flex spots in my Rainbow Shaman and put Biolume and Queen in there and it runes pretty good.
No Hands Gamer got me to look again at Queen cus the 1 mana Ring copies Biolume.

I had a 56% WR (92-73) pre-bug in D5-D3 range if you played Burn Shaman enough to know it. It really wasn't that bad.

That's fair, it's not the most exciting list, other than if you stuck getting to legend and want to bully Pirate Warrior and Mech Mage.
