Card for this week, what do you think? I put it at 3 mana because I thought it would be inline with Ice Block.

    My card

I'm not fond of cards this week that completely remove the downside of using discard cards, it just isn't that fun or new. Take Astral Communion Druid, if you were to draw that after you play said card, You would be almost guaranteed to win.

Maybe make it a bit more realistic, like deal x (30) damage to your hero, just so it is within the restraints of hearthstone. I really like these ideas and the cards you have suggested though.

Manaroth though. Wow. That is perhaps one of, if not the most interesting cards I have seen so far.

bringing back some old school love : finally a mage weapon..

my only dilemma with this is the order that effects pop in game.. example.. you play this next turn you play Nefarian and get a blade fury against a rogue with a full board.. would that effect trigger for each character damaged completely wiping his deck to none?

The main problem with this card is the fact that it has good stats for it's cost, discards your opponents hand AND give spell damage, possibly permanently. The problem with discarding your opponents hand is that they can't really play around it. Mage weapons generally don't work, since they have no synergy with weapons.

if you want to keep the discard mechanic, reduce it to a 3/2 and spell damage to +1, because as it stands this would be an auto-include in every mage deck due to it's effectiveness against combo and semi-permanent spell damage.

    (3) DIscard cop-outs. When discarding a card, draw a card / shuffle it in your deck / choose which / discard your opponent's instead / simply don't discard. Discards are a balancing mechanic, you trade tempo for card advantage. If you add a card that completely cancels it, you walk a very thin line of breaking the game, because you allow one player to play undercosted cards without taking the punishment for it. Something like Shade #82 is better balanced, because you only get one card back, not all of them (there's those entries too...). Ghastly Scavenger #92 is an interesting idea on salvaging discarded cards, although the mechanics need to be cleaner. Imp Lord Pinprik #150 is a good solution because he can prevent your good cards from being discarded, but the benefit is limited and you need to watch your hand size to use him.

I wouldn't dismiss cards that mitigate discard just on principle. Rules are meant to be broken, especially in card games; a good half of the MtG mechanics are just breaking one established rule or another. In Hearthstone; charge gets rid of summoning sickness, stealth prevents the opponent from attacking the minion, taunt prevents the opponent from attacking you, and so forth. I suppose there's an issue of creativity (only so many ways to do "You don't discard cards!"), but saying cop-outs are inherently bad goes against the whole fun of card games.

    My card:

Discard a random minion from your hand. Might be better as a minion with higher health. I really like the concept though

It is a random druid card/s. Specifically targetted at Mill and Astral Communion Druid.

As usual, the discard mechanic does not apply to cards discarded through Fel Reaver or similar, but only applies to cards lost through effects such as Succubus and Doomguard, and overdrawing.

Despite the wording suggesting you choose one multiple times, it is just one choice for the bunch of them. The first option, to Restore 3 Health is specifically targetted at Mill Druid; allowing it to survive well into fatigue and hopefully win the game. The adding random druid cards is targetted at Astral Communion Druid; letting Malfurion fill his hand up after gaining 10 mana and losing his cards.

Last note, I made it legendary because I think that it could be oppresive, but it is possibly more fitting for an epic slot, seeing as it would be absolutely terrible in arena.

Here are the tokens for the Choose One: effects

    RegenerateOvergrowth

Summon: This will be my last battle

    Attack: Ragh!

    Death: *treant death sound*

Includes draw discards. This card is intended to assist Astral Communion and Mill Druid. The restore effect is intended to help Mill, allowing it to last long into fatigue; the card additions are intended for the constant 10 mana counterpart to gain back card advantage after they use Astral Communion.

Thebangzats got it right, I suspected it would be fairly easy. Sound again referred to battlecry and 4/4 for 4 aren't great stats (undervalued). The rest referred to the cards "personality"
