posted a message on Why don't BZ just release a ban/number-limit list of "combos", instead of Ban those OP cards?
    Quote from sc2joker >>
    Quote from iandakar >>

We all know which combos are OP, not "cards". If you ban a card, you are killing a play style.

The format system is not about removing OP combos.  It's ABOUT killing play styles.

Combo Druid is not being targetted because "it's too strong".  We have nerf bats for that.  Combo Druid is being targetted because it's still around for too long.  The Classic Nerf is simply because Combo Druid will ignore the format system and will stick around even with the system in place.  Same goes for every deck that relies on Classic to be strong.

But it's not about OP combos.  It's about making everyone change how they play.  They don't want a 'reasonable Combo Druid'.  They want a Druid that is NOT combo.  A mage that is NOT Freeze.  They want Tempo to go away next year as well, and Patron.  They want a new set of top tier decks by this time next year.

I'm sorry, but it's just Impossible, because the rules of HS is too simple compared to MTG or Yu-gi-oh or else.
MTG can put tons of new cards, because it have complicated rules in the game, but HS is just impossible.
IMO, HS is like a Lego movie, you are full of fun because you are much simple than those "real" movie, so did you ever seen Lego remove any old "toys" in the market??? that's totally stupid. People like you not because you have some amazing new things in the game, but you are simple and free to play, no stupid ban list to limit your style.
Yes, it's called "not producing them anymore" and it happens all the time. As someone who played with Legos a lot as a kid I can tell you that most of the sets I own aren't being sold anymore, anywhere.
Also, Wild mode will exist. As it stands, all the problems with Wild (difficult new player entry costs, OP combos, etc) would all exist in the actual game if it weren't for these Standard limitations. As much as I hate to say it, Standard is a positive force for keeping Hearthstone a functional game with a large enough playerbase to be fun.
I for one whole-heartedly support nerfs on things that limit what a class can do, and believe the only way for Hearthstone to get any better is for classes not to be defined by a single deck archetype, which Combo Druid was, because every druid was a combo druid if it was a good deck. Limitations on the number of a certain card you can have in your deck just over complicates things- there's no reason WHY a spell should be legendary, so why not just nerf it and call it done? A FoN-SR deck with only one SR isn't going to fix anything anyway.
Edit: As a response to what you (OP) said about other decks' single key cards, those decks have more draw or survivability than Combo Druid.

posted a message on Class you are most sick of seeing ?

Mage, although seeing paladins is usually a sign that I'm not about to be happy.

Mage is far more irritating to play against, their cards do the more irksome stuff that's not necessarily any better than what I'm playing, except Fireball, but just genuinely annoys me. Mirror Entity, Ice Block, Flamewaker, Esportal- let me tell you, I'll be happy when Flamewaker and Esportal are both gone, but alas, we still have to deal with the rest of Mage's annoying Classic and Basic cards.

posted a message on Give us more deck slots
    Quote from KingPecan >>

Whatever. Have fun playing one deck three times a week max.

It's not like Blizzard's doing us a favor by not giving us unlimited slots. I regularly use all 9 of my decks, since by the time I've stopped playing one I've thought of another I want to make, and with Wild coming out with a MUCH larger card pool as time goes on there'll just be more combinations of cards to try out, so while 18 might be fine for the first year, after 2 or 3 years the number of decks I'll want for Wild will only get higher.

The fact that you got a noble sacrifice and a mad scientist in the same draft baffles me. Whenever I pick either (over utter trash) a secret or a Mad Scientist I never get the other.

Also, 3 minibots and 2 musters. You better get 10 wins with this.

I'd say removing GvG and Naxx without new cards to replace them would be a bad thing to do, as much as I hate Shredder, Boom and most Naxx cards.

posted a message on 2 expansions and 1 adventure - Too much?

I guess the advice to a new player is to just not spend gold on the oldest expansion and instead save for the next one, even if it means playing a deck of Classic cards until the new one comes out (I'd personally wait until I could buy packs on the day the expansion is released for maximum value, rather than buying one that's only got another expansion left, but that's just me).

posted a message on Why is "everyone" pretending that Wild Mode will not even exist?

Wild will exist and probably flourish for an expansion cycle, but after that the chances are that it'll be dead- since this is, after all, a casual game where F2P players who only play a few hours a week are the main playerbase, especially since the phone version was released, even if they aren't the ones Blizzard really cares ($$$) about. F2P players aren't going to play a mode where there's expansions that they can't get that are more powerful than their combos, since dust is so hard to get and realistically speaking, the number of people willing to craft an entire expansion's worth of good cards just for a declining mode (Especially since you can only craft gold adventure cards) is going to drop exponentially with each new cycle.

Plus, the people who have these cards and are keeping them are likely the ones who are in it for a reward, which Wild will inevitably provide less of than Standard, whether literally or just in terms of value from dust spent crafting cards.

I'm not complaining, its not like my opinion even matters to anyone, I'm just stating the facts about what's actually going to happen based on the information we have. Hell, having GvG and Naxx under a different tab in the store (with AMPLE warning for those worried about the players being dumb and giving money to Blizzard without knowing what they're buying) that's unlocked once a player has played long enough to probably be competent in their decision making abilities, would increase the longevity of the mode among the paying/constantly playing playerbase quite a lot- but instead, the only proof that Ben Brode doesn't think we're all drooling idiots who occasionally buy packs is that he finally trusts us with more deck slots, but even then not unlimited ones, which is honestly what I'm salty about (With Wild existing the need for infinite deck slots only multiplies in my head).

Tl;DR: Wild will die because of F2Ps' majority in the HS population, Wild will probably have worse rewards compared to entry cost so no incentive to play, and I rant about store tabs and deck slots.

posted a message on Would this be an actual balanced hero power?(poll)

As long as the class has no weapons (unless the weapons interact with the hero power in some way to not add damage to it, like maybe while a certain weapon is out your hero power becomes "Calmed: Heal 4 HP to your hero") it would probably be powerful but not totally broken- so give the class worse cards as a result to balance things.

posted a message on What rank do people consider good?
    Quote from TianZi >>
    Quote from Vugore >>

Not to poop the party but achieved rank does not necessarily reflect skill, it's rather an indication how much time that player invested in laddering. To make a valid statement about a player's skill you would not only to know his rank but also the number of matches he needed to achieve it. You can reach Legend with a win ratio of 51%. The true skill difference becomes obvious between a player who needs 60 matches from Rank 5 to Legend (like Thijs) and somebody who needs 500 games.

I went less than 100 wins from rank 25 to legend in S19 and I wasn't a good player at that time. As a matter of a fact I just came back to the game at that time, and was reading card text and tabbed out googling secrets during my matches because I didn't even know what they do.

I think that when he said 500 it was a hyperbole, but his point was that fewer wins = more skill.

only a few bad picks (sorry you got egg for a rare)... But overall looks good. I would say that's at least a 5 win deck.

I know right!? But the egg was my first pick, with Ancient Watcher and Anyfin Can Happen :/
I almost wonder if Anyfin could've been fun in your deck, considering the two Murloc Knights and a Puddlestomper, which is worth 10 mana, plus the murlocs summoned by the Knights.
Then again it is 10 mana and worthless until you've drawn and killed off at least 2/3rds of the murlocs and summoned some from the Knights.
also, as a first pick Anyfin would've been the worst out of the three, so I'm really just theorizing.

+1 to removing Ice Block, no class needs invulnerability that can't be removed (Mal Ganis can be killed by more things than Ice Block can be removed by pre-activation), especially not a class that doesn't need board control to fireball you down anyway.

    Mage salt, but still.

Oh, how smart you are! I can't believe there was even a card that can be used against secrets!!! Let me just put it in my deck because it performs so well against 9/9 classes.

anyway doctorzedman said there was no way to kill a secret with kezan you can "kill" it
It was a slight hyperbole, I know that Flare and Kezan exist, its just that Flare is in Hunter and Kezan is worthless against 7/9 classes- it doesn't even deal with Secret Paladin. Why put in a subpar 4 drop that only wins me the maybe 1% of games where I draw it against a Freeze Mage that has Ice Block up and I have a board to kill him before the second ice block is played? I even have a golden one and I never tech it in, even if it makes Freeze Mage the most annoying deck to play against.
Taking an Explosive Trap every once in a while might be pretty sweet too, though.
