I love the discover/card generation idea for a card game. I think that the OCCASIONAL turn around or save from a card you didn’t put in your deck is fun. It helps with the Rock Paper Scissors feeling of match ups.
However currently this game is decided by generated cards often. The game poorly taxes discovered/generated cards and in fact adds upside to the process. Which is crazy for creating a card that can change the game. Players frequently get multiple copies of legendary cards that are balanced around playing once, not 2-3-4 times. They pick up board clears at a discount, Or other classes legendaries that break the game. I’m personally tired of classes just “randomly” , but really consistently, creating outs or win conditions. I think that card generation and discover should be mana taxed a lot more and should never be paired with discounts.
what does the forums thinks about the card generation in the game today?
This card is kinda yuck. Don’t get me wrong I haven’t seen it as much in a while but boi howdy, 2x giants on 5. Into that trash = sad times. Or the game before blessing of authority into battlemaster. Nothing like no turn 5 answer in turn 6 20+ face dmg. Hope they rotate that power house early.
I’m curious what other people think. I think they have shown that they don’t have a problem strongly supporting decks like quest hunter. Which I feel is going to set the stage for non-interactive decks to flourish.
This game is terrible, it’s only aggro hunter/priest and fucking Druid. So you either die on turn 5 or on turn 5 the Druid has 12 mana and grabs 2 8 cost minions and 16 armor turn 5. Anyone wanna buy a battle net account cause honestly I’m fucking done with every they make.
Turn 1 wildpaw cavern… nothin like losing turn 1. I’m really excited for lightning bloom to fuck right off, that shit should overload 2 mana for two turns with the amount of stupid tempo it gives.
kaz Druid can double cast embers of ragnaros turn 6 for 48 dmg…… so I guess I have to join the brain dead scummy aggro players cause it’s either Druid or aggro on ladder. My name blizz I dun like bALanCe
I’ve been trying to Play disruption warlock, tickatus, 2 alter of fires, yash, it is super hilarious when he plays kazakusan and I immediately kill the entire deck, but more often then not he can play it turn 5-7 when he has 10+ mana and I haven’t seen those cards yet so it’s an auto loss. The problem if that by turn 6 a Druid is almost guaranteed to have kazakusan. And even though I’m drawing cards I cant just pick out tickatus or mutanus. Like Druid can for kazakusan.
Did you say embers of ragnaros over and over. Haven’t seen a game with that thing played that didn’t end with Embers of Ragnaros. Cause just a cool 24 face dmg. Or when you are a Druid…48 face dmg.
I’m excited for the Microsoft acquisition, that way maybe we can get some people that have any idea how to balance a card game. I don’t care how well any deck performs, shit like owl warlock is straight up bad design. 0 interaction decks plague the game, you should be able to deal 70+face damage turn 8 and have absolutely no interaction. Make that Deathrattle spell not shadow so that they can’t double cast it. And if I have a couple minions then maybe I take only 20 dmg to face cause that seems more reasonable then I have 3 minions and he deals 70 unstoppable damage to my face. great job team 5. Maybe make the game wayyy more free to play friendly so that you don’t have to play that stupid fucking game where you don’t nerf things cause you don’t want people to have dust. The greed is fucking disgusting.
I brought it up cause I read some info on doing large scale nerfs and rebalancing when the next expansion comes out for the new year.
I also didn’t say they all need nerfs. I just hate knowing that i can’t interact with anyones quest, and the only reason that is is “irrelevant” right now is that it’s a 80% pure aggro meta. Where you don’t get to turn 7 to even think about playing the mutanus you probably haven’t even drawn.
Do you believe they won’t support the quests at all with the next expansion?? Cause despite the current meta situation, you're probably going to say “why the hell is that pally quest reward a 7/7 for 5 mana and I can’t stop it” when they inevitably print supporting cards that gives pallys 6 dudes for 3 mana, or a new vine cleaver that’s a 2 cost 1/3 weapon summon 2 dudes each attack.
the problem isn’t today, it’s that these quests are in the standard game for at least 1 more year. When they get popular again, there needs to be something that interacts with the opponents quests cause mutanus can’t cut it when the rewards are 5 mana 7/7’s with game breaking effects that it, in practice, can’t even target.
I hope when the new expansion come out and they announce the many nerfs, that they touch up on some quest final rewards. I don’t think they all need to be 5 mana 8/8’s. And unless they make a quest disrupter, mutanus isn’t good enough. most quests can be finished pre turn seven and even if it’s post turn seven everyone (excluding priest, and some of the time DH) can finish the quest and play the reward turn 7+ so there is no chance to even stop it. I’m not saying mutanus is bad but it very very rarely works on and quest reward.
With The aggro that can be built right now, where you can easily build decks that defeat opponent constantly turns 4-6. you are in fact destroying people card collection. Which is far worse then killing minions and milling cards. because it’s so pervasive and all over the ladder you can’t even build decks with a 40%+ win rate with cards that cost 6-10 cause there is almost no chance you can play them. And you are claiming that is better then the idea of board clears and removals. aggro barely more interaction then OTK decks. Everything is face 99% of the time. You can play like shit and clime ladder quickly cause its either the opponent has very strong turn 2/3 answers and you lose or they don’t and you win.
I love the “people prefer control” posts but blizzard strongly prefers aggro, you can even play 6-10 cost card most games.
just played 5 hunters in a row, I healed 10+ every game still died turn 6-7. Classic
do you play priest ?
I play, well try to play cause it’s aggro/combo or bust, warrior(not pirate) priest and warlock. I count armor as “healing” cause it is just healing but better.

They took an A tier non interactive deck, quest hunter, and gave it alot of support this expansion. Hunterstone 2014 - Infinity.

It’s weird they keep printing legendaries that don’t say they are Druid legendaries… but only druids play cards that are 7+ mana…
