Have you tried token shaman? It's the best deck to reach legend in this last days of the season. People go aggro more often when the end of the month is coming. Shaman has the best anti aggro tools.
I thought that was Priest?
True, the new anti aggro priest might be better.
I was talking about the current meta-decks, not class cards in general.
Then shaman is indeed better, I agree with you, as it also has a decent chance against Jade, unlike Priests.

I do not recommend the UK Midrange Paladin. It has a lot of good matchups, but also a lot of bad ones. I think honestly that it's a bad deck and the creator took a lot of people by surprise with the adding of pirates when the whole ladder was swarmed with murloc paladins.
The murloc midrange paladin does not require Onyxia, Deathwing is also a good choice. But again, it does not require it, you can tech in perhaps an Eater of Secrets or even Harrison Jones. Jones is a God card if you meet a lot of control mages/priests.
So what I will say to you is this: Don't switch. I did that, I got triggered, I thought I could counter the meta and I got countered by people with the same bloody idea. Pick a deck, stick to it. Hunter is not good to climb for your first time legend and Priest is very meta dependent. Lots of aggro, yes, but Jade Druid is your absolute worst nightmare. It's like freeze mage vs. control warrior, an almost unwinnable matchup.
Mage and Shaman, many people say they have success with mage, but I don't feel like it. It's a solid deck for tournament, but it's a 50/50 in the r5-legend meta. The new burn mage played by Chakki and JustSaiyan at DH may work though, I have not tried that deck yet. Shaman has two primary options; Evolve Shaman (for the RNG) and Jade Shaman (for "consistency", don't play that deck).
The best decks currently, in my honest opinion, to climb are midrange murloc paladin (the one from Hoej is magnificent, with either Deathwing or Onyxia), pirate warrior (sorry guys, I promote the cancer here) and, to an extend, Miracle Rogue. Miracle Rogue has a hard time dealing with aggro percentage wise, but it can shred those nasty control decks, even freeze mage if you play aggressively as freeze mage has become slower.
Or you can go Big Druid. It has the same matchups as Jade Druid, except Big Druid beats Jade Druid. It's very much RNG flavoured, but hell of a fun. Kinda like Evolve Shaman.
I saw so much Jade Druid and Control Mages (EU ladder btw) with a hint towards shamans and paladins, I first went priest.
Degraded to rank 5 0*. So then I picked up Pirate Warrior, the one listed on Tempostorm.com.
And I did it. :) Legend achieved, 2851. This was probably the hardest season I had to get Legend to.
Here are my stats for those interested. I started at rank 5 on the 15th, so these are the stats from the 15th up until now. The last deck, the Pirate Warrior one, had a 67% winrate throughout that date. And let this be the definite proof that even if you have on average a 51% winrate, you can make it (though it really helps if you choose the right decks and stop fooling around like me or get triggered).
@Aizen01; I went to Rank 1 with Dragon Priest if that helps. It stomped on aggro decks (until yesterday), but has a huge problem with jade druid, that's a completely unwinnable matchup.
I'm honestly getting frustrated this season. I've been going up and down constantly around Rank 2. I've now climbed back again for the 8th time this season alone to Rank 2 and once hit Rank 1.
In any season, this has never been so difficult for that final stretch.
That's an earlier version of his ladder deck and it seems he changed Starfall for Mire Keeper in SSC tournament. But indeed, two copies of BoA seems correct.

You should do a co-op laugh with Ben Brode.

Oh, I remember my first time legend. I did it with Maly rogue, waaaaay back in the seasons. And it was both the most frustrating and joyous moment.
It feels very similar to this season. You have seen my post here as well, I reckon.

We won't know. But they do, else they wouldn't have identified this issue.

EU for me.

Gonna try again today.
