Just thought I'd start a thread for people to collect their thoughts on Hero rankings of the day. I am still on the learning curve (6,500ish) and looking for experience and advice to better learn/prioritize the Heros.
This is basically the ranking of which ones I would chose over others. There are still a couple Heros I have never used that I didn't include. What the heck is a recruitment map anyway?
I think it's a good card and needs specific enough conditions to really go off that it meets it's legendary status. It should be powerful, doesn't go nuts too early that you can't slow it down (most often), but if you don't have an answer then it will snowball while using a lot of resources. Seems strong but fair. I only play against mage once every 8-10 games though, so honestly, give the class SOMETHing to enjoy.
The two biggest 'RNG' events I can't seem to fully believe in Battlegrounds are 1) how often a Selfless Hero will give divine shield to another f#*ing Selfless Hero and 2) how rarely your minions attack the f#*ing Jugglers once the taunts are gone. I am aware that both events would have confirmation bias in full effect but I am tempted to gather stats anyway. In fact I intend to start tracking Selfless Hero for sh#ts and giggles.
Results so far:
Will Selfless Hero give Divine Shield to herself or another Selfless Hero?
Total events tracked = 19
Averaged theoretical random odds over those events = 27%
Actual percent times Selfless Hero gets a shield = 47%
I assumed that when 2 shields are activated that it is two separate events. The second event has 1 fewer valid targets. Which shield hit first was not tracked so I summed the odds of each.
E.g. Event 13:
2 shields were triggered with 4 valid targets including 1 Selfless Hero.
Event odds of SH getting a shield = shield 1 odds (1/4) + shield 2 odds (1/3)
Highlander mage is great against it. Arcane Breath into Poly, Zephrys into Poly, Evocation into Poly, Malygos into Poly, regular Poly, Counterspell or Spellbender for their Grave Ward or CS for Massrez. Solarian or Box into extra removal, or just remove them when your board is clear.
Or if you're having THAT much trouble tech in an Owl or something.
Oppenent is highlander rogue and I am highlander mage I used everything including reno and only three card left and I have nothing at deck opponent have 4 hp one khartut and lackey on his board and I have nothing he plays dq alex finds kaleckos plays a trap and other 0 mana drakonid have 5 minion on board at this point I think I lose the game but damn I have dq alex on my hand I might find a deathwing right I wait patiently than he presses to the end the turn button and gets a Nether Breath directly to his face because dear reno decided to end his whole career as rogue.

It probably has more to do with cards yet to be released. Otherwise I can't make any sensible argument to nerf Mage.

Guess again. I can enjoy games anywhere on the spectrum from bingo to chess.
Why do so many people see only in black or white?

Data sample size of just 3 so far.
First event: cast missiles with 2 minions on board. All 3 hit same minion.
Second event: cast missiles with 3 minions on board. All 3 hit same minion.
Event 3: 2 minions on board, hit 1 twice and the other once.
Event 4: 2 minions on board, hit 1 twice and the other once.
Event 5: 5 minions on board, hit 3 different minions.
Not playing much lately but will report back with more data as available. But it seems so far like there's nothing to see here.

I don't think anyone is thanking him for his absolute accuracy but rather the effort to prepare and share his opinions with us for consideration.
Thanks Ben.
