I am... pleasantly surprised by these nerfs. I never thought I'd say it, but this might be good balancing on the dev's part.

I'm actually excited to put Tony in some of my control decks now. -

MyDude33 posted a message on Apparent Restructure At Blizzard Hearthstone TeamPosted in: NewsI'm not saying they're good or bad. I'm just saying the market forces are at play here more than anything. Too many people and not enough work to go around has been an issue for 3 years now. Gotta get rid of the bloat when the money isn't easy.

MyDude33 posted a message on Apparent Restructure At Blizzard Hearthstone TeamPosted in: NewsI don't care about that stuff and I am happy it is happening. I am in tech and these layoffs have needed to happen for a long time. There is so much bloat and people who need to be gone to make room for better people to come in. They also need to open up money that could be used to pay other people more or acquire better talent. It's never a one sided story.
Sucks when it happens, but people need to read the market and be self aware about what value they actually bring rather than chase that high profile job and a big name company. They can and will spit you out much easier. That's not to say it is because they are evil and don't care. Just that the bigger the valuation of the company the more value they expect you to bring if you want the paycheck that comes along with it.

You mean a deck that has not had a 50% win rate in months?
0
-Big Priest is at 2% of the format with a 46% win rate. So, not exactly sure why Neptulon needs to be banned.
-Secret Mage, while strong, sees only 5% play rate and performs an extremely useful role keeping the most oppressive and hated decks (Pillager Rogue, Uninstall Mage, and, yes, Big Priest) from running roughshod over the format now that their only good counter in Theotar has been nerfed into oblivion.
-Agree on DH plus manathirst will still be turned on most of the time when you want to play it, just not 100% of the time, so the nerf is smaller than it seems.
-Agree on rogue but at least miracle rogue might finally be tuned again!
-"Combo rogue needed the nerfs it got" - except unfortunately for wild where this does nothing because Pillager/RageQuit Rogue doesn't play any of these cards.
-Poor poor warrior.

Oh my gosh why are there so many freaking buffs? Terrible, terrible game design! DK already has the most powercreeped cards imaginable, they don't need to be even stronger! What's needed is for the kill-you-from hand classes to get nerfed, the turn-5-lethal classes to get nerfed, and random generation (including of the DK variety) to get nerfed. The reason DK didn't see play isn't because it's bad, it's because it's fair. We need to emphasize fair gameplay, not this mishmash of (actually pretty useful, at least most of them) nerfs - but never enough of them - and always-unnecessary buffs. Making fair cards better won't address anything for the positive. What's needed is an end to mana cheat, an extreme tone-down of random generation, and the core set really doesn't need buff after buff every year.

Please stop complaining about free stuff. You don't even have to watch it! Just put it in the background and enjoy two free packs. Not everything needs to be a whining competition.

Out of curiosity, where do you find this data? I'd be very interested to see the data contradicting Blizzard's decision that 'this mode makes us money, let's keep doing it.' And how did you find data that Blizzard didn't? After all, if they had data showing that this mode is, and I quote, a "huge failure," wouldn't they do a much more drastic revamp than a simple release?

I don't understand why people are so angry about this. It's a refreshing break from the grind of normal hearthstone - just sit back and enjoy the brokenness about to come - I played a 5/9 on turn two and STILL lost the game. It's a good brawl. And even if you don't like it as much as I do, so what? It's a free pack anyways.

No we don't. What we need are zero more buffs and a ton more nerfs. Nerfs buff every single other card in the game. Buffs destroy metas. When was the last time a nerf didn't make things better? Sure, maybe it didn't fix everything all at once, but they always make things better. When was the last time a buff wasn't either (a) completely meaningless or (b) completely broke the game? I was thinking the boomsday buffs but that one featured 5 mana LPG so I'd say never! You need to take a longer look at things rather than just saying "ooh buffs I like those." Think about the game itself rather than cards in isolation. And I haven't even gotten started on powercreep, the decline in player enjoyment, the decrease in design space, the trend of ever more broken stuff (different from powercreep), the decline in player base itself, or any of the legions of problems I'm forgetting about!

Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! I am so annoyed that the playerbase keeps overlooking long-time problems!! How the heck can such an obvious statement get downvoted! Freaking playerbase keep gorging on cocaine and ignoring their dang vegetables!

quest reward - 10 mana win the game

wait, so they actually buffed warlock in wild? what the actual heck? darkglare nerf is meaningless, flesh giant nerf has no effect, battlemaster was a win-more card anyway, but scroll all the way to the bottom...
"Updated the Stealer of Souls animation to now only trigger if the card ends up in your hand (it does not trigger for cards that are Cast When Drawn, such as Soul Shards). The animation will also no longer trigger if the drawn card already costs Health instead of Mana (such as when you have two Stealer of Souls in play)."
so basically now the way to survive a turn and possibly win - the animations taking too long - has now been taken away? am I reading this right?
