Those who've played WoW probably get the reference. We've all tried being ganked by someone, especially in Stranglethorn Vale (where Rastakhan's Rumble takes place), slowing down our questing and leveling. Ugh, that was so annoying. Found it quite fitting with Overkill. In addition, the effect is very niche, so I think it deserves vanilla stats.
Amazing card. Minor nitpick is that a unique effect such as that should belong to a Legendary
Cheers Mate. I see your point with the unique effect. The reason I've made it common is simply because I don't find the effect game-changing, and I don't really think it deserves Legendary status.
As for your card, self-upgrading bot is very flavorful and a neat effect. Don't think you need to change anything.

Mods: y’all forgot to link the submission topic in the discussion topic’s OP, and vice-versa :P

There’s also the overlooked issue of finding proper art for both the Loa AND a Spirit. Proper Spirit art is almost impossible to find, and it’d take away from the freedom and flexibility of this theme. I personally think you’ve made the right call, as I wouldn’t have even joined this one if you had to design both.
as for Gonk’s art, check this out:

Not a perfect image, but you should be able to cut out the unnecessary stuff
@TheProgenitor thanks for feedback, but I find the “interactive” argument very null when it comes to Loa. This is a game ender, it’s supposed to be uninteractive (see Hir’eek, Bwomsamdi). The interaction is supposed to be in the middle of the game

How about this one? Meant to support bounce Rogue, unsure about the extra effect

Prediction of the Hunter Loa: Halazzi!
Flavor text: only a worthy few know that the source of Halazzi’s primal wrath is being confused with Shirvallah, like, ALL THE TIME.
When played: “Trying to tame the wild is a lost cause!”
Attack: “The hunt is on!”
Overkill triggering: “All too easy.”
Death: “A worthy... opponent...”

You’ll always craft/get Spooky, but if for some reason you want Scary in your starting deck you can just go to your card collection, choose to view Spooky and switch him to Scary via a special button appearing in the side.
Flavor text: Word around the tavern is they send Captain Shivers to collect your spine every Hallow’s End.
Play(Spooky): “Spooky, Scary Skeletons!”
Attack(Spooky): “Send SHIVERS!”
Death(Spooky): “Down your... spine...”
Play(Scary): “Shrieking skulls will...”
Attack(Scary): “SHOCK your soul!”
Death(Scary): “Seal... your doom... tonight...”

See, I think Zilean said that ironically. I can tell because the post also says ‘BUFF DRUID’, something nobody who plays this game and is sane would say

Gotta love that moment when someone is SO CONSTANTLY OBNOXIOUS about the game that other players are outraged by the BabyRage level... in the Ultimate Salt Thread. Don’t change, Kaladin!

Entrance: “There is no peace.”
Attacking: “There is only servitude.”
Death (with another Treant on board)/transformation: “The curse cannot be outlasted.”
Death (for real): “Could it be?...”
