Well here are the meta influencing cards everyone was waiting for. Fencing coach is also going to make some of the previously thought of as too slow inspire cards much better. But most importantly that Magma Rager power creep :p
The roses in the bottom left are probably a hint as well. I am not familiar enough with WoW lore to know how though. Maybe Scarlet Monastery (roses just hinting at the scarlet color).
No, that won't work. Since the normal combo is popping your opponent down to 15 life with Alexstrasza, preferably with Ice Block up since you likely can't freeze the board that turn. And then burst your opponent down with spells the following turn. Occasionally Archmage Antonidas can win you the game if you don't draw Alex, but running this deck without Alexstrasza altogether is pretty bad. Sorry :(
Yeah the balance is total garbage because the Nefarian hero power is random. They basically balanced it so that if Nefarian rolls nothing but frost shock and deadly poison, he'll win 50% of the time against an average ragnaros draw.
But sadly nefarian can get free mind control, sprint, twisting nether, assassinate, flamestrike etc. So. Yeaaaah. Everything is equal except for the fact that the game was balanced as if Nefarian didn't have a hero power.
Frost Shock every turn would actually be very good, so you could delay Ragnaros weapon swings indefinitely. I think the matchup is actually pretty balanced overall. Nefarian getting a Mind Control is obviously more exception than rule, although I understand it still blows if it happens.
Having played a couple more games (I think I'm on 18 wins now) I actually changed my opinion. The matchup is certainly much more close than I initially thought. And I might actually slightly favor Ragnaros. Nefarian does have his crazy and unstoppable starts every now and again, but in terms of consistency Ragnaros does very well, with some very efficient clears/comebacks.
Explanation to Novice Engineer over Loot Hoarder? Just because it can't be silenced?
It is a close call imo. The pros and cons are pretty obvious. Novice effect is instant, you can use the draw in the same turn, cabal/silence type effects aren't effective. The disadvantage is it is able to trade less effectively with the board/remove armor. The advantage is pretty stable, but the disadvantage is mostly dependent on the meta.
I feel in the current meta the loot hoarder is often not able to trade very well either or the 1 attack of the novice would have been enough (Zombie Chow, Shielded Minibot, all the hunter 1 health minions). Most notable exceptions are Mad Scientist, Huffer and Knife Juggler (but this one is rarely dropped unprotected). Warrior matchup is pretty hopeless anyway and druid armor often isn't that much of a problem.
Therefore I prefer Novice over Hoarder in most cases/ in most matchups. But again, it's a close call.

Does not mean either one of them is more OP yet though. It's all about the consistency imo.

After a couple of games my nod goes to Nefarian as well. It seems to take Ragnaros too long to stabalize. Might change after more games though.

What do you guys think?

The amount of superstition in this thread baffles me.
